So i wonder where this leaves Wests teams... We all know what the West Junior leagues organisation has been like in regards to senior comps in the past, will we be given an idea on what they plan to do soon or will we find out 2 weeks before the new season is about to start??
Get your club secretary to stand up at the next meeting and have a dig, stop being puppets and it's time the junior league gets a no confidance vote for what has happened with the combined competition, they should all be stood down!

If the group 6 clubs & management voted against the continuation of the combined comp, was that decision also a reflection of not wanting the campbelltown teams in the comp?, or was it more a management & control issue, or getting votes at the AGM ??

What course of action now if any are the campbelltown/liverpool teams going to take ?

Not trying to be a smart ass or anything but nothing will happen... As has been the case for years and years, those that run the wests district are untouchable..

Firstly it's wests juniors not wests district, secondly they are untouchable because clubs won't stand up for themselves

Wests can be very unforgiving..............I remember a certain All Saints u/18s side that went to play as a Moorebank Rams side back in 2003 as there was not enough clubs to make a decent comp. The coach and players involved in that were never looked at for any type of representative position ever again and we were told by a Bulldogs official they could not be looked at by Canterbury selectors at the time as they did not want to upset West's.

As far as the merger goes when the going gets tough the spineless get going.

This merger will without a doubt come back one day but somebody has just set it back 10 years.
Another couple of years would have seen one of the strongest comps around but for some people it was all to hard.

Congratulations :cstars:

Wests District, wests Juniors, u knew what i meant...

As for them being untouchable because clubs won't stand up for themselves, The problem is everyone has their own agenda, one club wants this another club wants that, and with the members of the junior league being affiliated with junior clubs it makes it very difficult to overthrow them...

You keep saying plenty about standing up and fighting, but to do that everyone needs to stand together and you said in your previous post that your club will go alone..

As the strongest junior club in the league we were trying to put in a succession plan to slowly build our senior ranks so that we could have all 3 grades.. This plan is now thrown into chaos as we have no idea what will happen...

Group 6 advised Wests as follows: "A Special Extraordinary General Meeting was held at Mittagong R S L Club last night Monday 4th October 2010. To discuss the 2011 Competition. A Secret Ballot was taken by the Representatives of all 13 Clubs to decide where the Competition was to be . Unfortunately the result of the Ballot was a Unanimous decision to have a standalone Competition of the Group 6 Clubs only . That is no Combined Competition for 2011".

This statement is very blunt and doesn't leave room for negotiation. Wests are holding a meeting next Monday 11th October to discuss details of above etc. Hopefully this meeting will a least explain where Wests are heading in 2011 and the structure of the Wests 2011 competition. Lets hope Wests clubs can build on what was achieved during the merger with Group 6. Time to be positive not negative.

It must be remembered that Group 6 wanted the merger but for various reasons they have opted out. Wests will hopefully have learnt some valuable lessons on how to run viable senior competitions. Time will tell.

Cut and paste from the Wests Email to all clubs

We have been in contact with various senior league personnel this morning expressing our concern with the email received and the possible fall out as a result of this decision.
NSWRL fully supports the Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League and are currently organising for us to meet with senior league personnel to discuss the above decision.
To enable this matter to be properly discussed with you a Secretaries meeting has been convened for all club delegates on the following;
Date – Monday 11 October 2010
Time – 7.30pm
Venue – Auditorium – Western Suburbs Leagues Club Campbelltown

Unfortunately the rumour mill is already circulating in relation to season 2011.

In regard to the rumour that an invitation to play in Group 6 will be extended to only a select few clubs within our district - this will not occur nor will it be sanctioned.

This bunch should have stood for parliament!!!! not a single member from both sides deserve to be at the helm of anything to do with sport, it's a disgrace that club members entrust these fools with the good of the game. Rugby League in the Macarthur region has been dealt a blow that will take many a year to recover from.
Teething problems are part any development however if the vision is taken away failure is the end result.

That was not the issue here.
A culture change is needed in the western suburbs clubs, and while they are still under the Wests control, that will not happen.
One competition, One Body. It's that simple

From what i was told last nite all 13 clubs passed the motion. It was the shortest meeting in along time.

Some off field incidents and lack of punishment was also a major part.

A Us vs Them attitude was a problem

Three clubs in Wests were mentioned to apply for inclusion in group 6 and if the clubs were in favour the group would try and get them into the competition for 2011 but after seeing the above msgs on here i doubt that will happen

Moss Vale Dragons premiership fullback Rhys Lenarduzzi has been named at halfback in the Italian team who will play their first International against Wales in 60 years. Italy are several years into a revival of the code after playing several touring international teams in the 60s including the Kangaroos. At one stage a Turin based Italian club was formed which played in the French League. The game came under extreme pressure from Italian Rugby Union who stiffled the codes development and the game subsequently died.

A revival of the code came about after an Australian based team of Italian heritage players played in the World Sevens Tournament back in the 80s. After several attempts, an Italian League is now played annually and continues to grow.

Congratulations to Rhys on this great achievement which caps off a memorable year for him with the premiership win for the Dragons a few weeks ago. Rhys returned to the Dragons mid year after starting the year with the Roosters toyota cup squad.

The international against Wales was set for Sunday 3 Oct at Racecourse Ground at Wrexham, home of the ESL club Crusaders, but wet weather has seen the fixture moved to Wed 6 Oct at Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay. An under 23 fixture scheduled between the 2 countries has been cancelled to make way for this deferred international.

Very sad indeed that what is potentially a great comp, interesting to note that some in group 6 are concerned about coping do-do when they come to CTWN, correct me if i am wrong but did i not read all about the ugly brawls at CTWN stadium that to the best of my knowledge did not involve one CTWn team, yes group 6 have acted and handed out punishment, but i believe its a two way street from a minority of clown supporters from both sides.

Very interesting days ahead for both comps, i wonder what those from CRL and NSWRL are thinking and what they will do, our area is very much a heartland of Rugby League and yet it appears on the surface that West's Tigers are running, Group 6 are running, West's in turmoil, where does this leave the most important component in all this ( the players), from the outset they have never been given a say, yet had to put the trust in a select few to run the comp, and as its turned out personalities got in the way of providing a special and long lasting competition one that could have and should be the envy of all other league areas across Australia. What a shame and those that are responsible i personally want to know how do we explain this to the player's and what lay ahead for there futures in both areas???????

At the end of the day it was put to 13 clubs and ALL voted to break away!! Im sure those clubs would have spoken to there players and other patrons.
The group board are acting on there members request.

There are other districts within NSWRL ie Parra or penrith that wests could talk to!! There are options

Interesting that you only address the one point highlander, and i guess its that attitude as to why the comp has failed, people being selective as to what will be dealt with.

May i also point out, wasn't it the same group 6 management that went against the wishes of all teams in group 6 when the comp first started two years ago, whats to say the pressure wont be put on them again and the same thing happens???

Hey i for one can only think of the positive and that is, someone out there must surely be wanting to do something about one side of the merger management, how this has failed is a joke and heads should roll as a result!!!

From The Group 6 website:

Moss Vale Dragon Plays Key Role in Italia win over Welsh Dragons
Moss Vale Dragons Fullback Rhys Lenarduzzi played a vital role in Italy's historic win over Wales yesterday. Italy triumphed 13-6 against a Wales team which whilst resting some key players in preparation for the upcoming European Cup, fielded former Wales Rugby Union star Gareth Thomas who now plays with the Crusaders in the ESL.

The win for the Azzuri is perhaps their greatest on the international stage to date. Congratulations to Rhys on being a part of this historic win in Wales.

Wales will now take on Ireland, France and Scotland in the European Cup, with the winner to advance to the 2011 4 Nations Tournament in the Northern Hemisphere taking on England, New Zealand and Australia.

You raise a good point E.A.S.T CTWN, when we travelled to Warragamba, our islander boys were racially abused worse then i've ever heard before.. They did very well to restrain from retaliating...

Fact is there are issues on both sides and it appears that G6 only want to believe that they are happening on one side...

Maybe you should be speaking to your Management committee to find out exactly what has gone wrong this year. I'm sure they will try and shift the blame but they have a lot to answer for in the break down of the merged competition. I hear the name "Collies" may been one of the issues.
Clubs also got very tired of having to deal with the constant arguments and abuse from some sections of the Wests players and supporters about the charging of entry fees to ground. After two seasons this nonsense was still going on.

In a merged comp you need a merged management committee not one partner going in one direction and the other partner the opposite way.
