Minto forfeited First & Reserve Grade to All Saints. Heard Minto may have withdrawn from competition altogether, if so, will there be a redraw. Anyone know other results?? |

Being new to the area Would someone be able to inform me, how the reps will be intergrated back into the 18,s comp. Now that we are forging ahead on the merged comp. players returning back from the ball comp could give the northern end of the comp a big leg up, I am informed the ESA and East campbelltown clubs are very strong and figure in the majority to rep selections for wests Is ther a limit to how many players are allowed back to any one club. Is the same rule current for the group 6 sides. I have heard last year was a bit of a wind sock senario I was led to believe that there would be 2 divisons in this age group wests juniors and group 6 18,s ??? Watching some of the sides run around on the weekend im leading towards a campbelltown side winning the 18,s Really hope they get the 18,s right as it is the future success of the merged comp. Didnt get to the Campbelltown city game , but by looking at the scoreboard picton seemed to be struggling albiet last years premiers How are the other 2009 grandfinalists (Thirlmere) shaping up. Ive heard that the committee has changed and there first grade coach is now the new president. From all reports they might struggle a bit without shane martin, but in saying that I am told they have a heap of young locals, whom have benifited by a good development program admistered by the club some years back. Will East Campbelltown benifit by having players available from the Cup Competition. Mossvale and Oakdale match was a good contest. maybe they are the 2 sides that could give Campbelltown City a shake. Citys player roster looks strong, though i do question how they all fit under the points umbrella. Any way look forward to joining the forum and may 2010 be a good one. |

Welcome to the forum seahawk, now i may be able answer some of your questions from what ive heard, I was led to believe that there would be 2 divisons in this age group wests juniors and group 6 18,s ??? - It will probably end up that way and be regraded as their is daylight between the wests & group 6 clubs maybe give or take some , Picton seems to have a decent u/18 side considering they have two. Is ther a limit to how many players are allowed back to any one club. Is the same rule current for the group 6 sides. I have heard last year was a bit of a wind sock senario - The group has this 3x3 rule wether thats still in place i'm unsure now its a merged comp. Most rep players from Group 6 are probably playing for Wests anyway. Will East Campbelltown benifit by having players available from the Cup Competition.- they will be limited to 2 players per round taking into consideration if they are under the points system with their current playing roster. Mossvale and Oakdale match was a good contest. maybe they are the 2 sides that could give Campbelltown City a shake. Citys player roster looks strong, though i do question how they all fit under the points umbrella. - Yep watched the match also Mossy exremely unlucky not to win , some questionable calls went against them yet again , they have a classy backline especially with Shane Martin at halfback , they'll do alright this year . Yep campbelltown city will need to watch their player eligibilty as per the points system
especially with Jones,Kennedy, McGuinness etc. |

Hi guys, new to these forums. Did any of you get out to any of the games this weekend. Narellan v Easts were both very scrappy games with Easts coming out ontop in both grades. Although it seems most of the Wests U/18s sides forfeited due to paperwork issues. |

How lob sided is this comp going to be?? when Picton (last years premiers) get beaten 64-14 by Campbelltown City. I have heard that CC have 4 or more ex NRL players. Under the current points system, whether you are an ex NRL player or have played any level down to Jim Beam/Bundy Cup, you are still worth 40 points a player. (even if a player has played only a few games at say Bundy level.) And you can get points concessions if a player comes back to his original club. The likes of Kevin McGuiness "I am told" is a 2 point player as CC was his original club when in fact his original club was Minto. How does that work???? Surely an ex NRL player is worth more points than a Bundy player and whether they come back to their """origins ????"""or not they must be worth more than 2 points which is a local kid playing with his local side. Even a player transferring from another club is worth 25 points even if his side from last year is not there anymore.

If the player played NRL and came back to his junior club or the club he played the majority of his junior career at then he is deemed a local player because he was developed by that club thus worth two points. Say for example Scott Geddes from Souths comes back and plays for Moss Vale he is worth 2 points because he is a mossy jnr. Yep ive heard campbelltown city are claiming Kev as their own despite him playing for minto also Ron Jones is a minto jnr apparently !! The grading of players points is where that player played the highest level of footy for the previous 3 seasons, exception if he is a localy developed jnr. I would be keeping a close eye on citys roster this year. |

Theres something not quite right about how City are getting around the points system. To my knowledge Mc Guiness played his junior football at Minto. |

Heard John Skandalis can not play as he is on Wests Tigers Coaching Staff (Under 20's - Strength & Conditioning Coach) and does not have the time or permission to play but....I may be wrong. |

Good luck to C/City for attracting a couple of ex- grade players. These guys are not super men. They are retired footballers. They are retired from that level because they are no longer good enough for that level, although probably still handy. If they are good enough to be playing a higher level I'm sure they would be. As for All Saints, they may get beat, but they are a young and enthusiastic squad and I'm sure they will give a good account. |

In a perfect world that would great for the comp Galahs but as you know players chase the money and most times thats only 1 or 2 clubs at a time. I guess we can wait and see how they go when they play Mossy or Oakdale and judge from there. |
