Its ridiculous...... We have 2 teams each week having a bye. Somebody should bite the bullet and redraw or ammend the games now, not wait until the 2nd round. Surely it cant be that hard...........

Well Done Eagles This is Great News On Friday the 26th of February 2010 KARI Aboriginal Resources Incorporated and East Campbelltown Eagles Junior Rugby League in conjunction with the Campbelltown Eagles Bundaberg Cup Rugby League formalised an initiative sponsored by KARI that endeavours to advance and improve local Aboriginal people's participation in the Game of Rugby League. The program will be the first of its kind for the Campbelltown/Liverpool area and will provide Aboriginal players with scholarships which include registration fee payments and some equipment as well as training programs, mentoring, education, diets and scholarship programs to promote Aboriginal players through the Bundaberg Cup. "It's all about opportunity and closing the gap for Aboriginal people. To be able to offer Aboriginal people an opportunity that they may not have otherwise had to develop their talent is the purpose of this unique initiative" stated KARI CEO Mr Paul Ralph. The East Campbelltown Eagles will assess and monitor scholarship holders throughout the year to assess the improvement in the performance and circumstances of the scholarship holders. This will be done by a dedicated committee involving well respected Aboriginal role models within the club Gary Potts, Darcy Brown, Scott Baverstock and supported by the Clubs Coaching and Development Officer Daniel Draper. In addition to the financial-based support provided through the scholarship, the Committee will arrange events and opportunities for the scholarship holders throughout the year including an exhibition match during NAIDOC Week, development opportunities, educational opportunities and mentoring days involving senior players and prominent Rugby League figures. Although the official signing was Friday, the Eagles pushed forward to support 1 player in his quest to lose weight, Jacob Morgan easily one of the most skilful players within the club, participated in a weight lose program and also supported by Southern Cross Boxing Gym, Jacob Morgan has lost 12kg, over a four week period and with continual support for Jacob we intend to get him down another 12kg to see his fitness level rise, and a positive change of life style. "Being involved with development within the East Campbelltown Eagles JRLFC, it is rewarding to be able to support and nurture young Aboriginal talent through this joint program. We have an abundance of Aboriginal talent within the club already, and I'm proud to see such a strong relationship form between the East Campbelltown Eagles JRLFC, KARI Aboriginal Resources and the local Aboriginal community" stated Campbelltown Eagles Development and Coaching Co-ordinator Daniel Draper. |

Something i came across online with the local rag. http://bowral.yourguide.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/moss-vale-dragons-up-against-it-two-rounds-in/1790900.aspx THE Moss Vale Dragons face a must-win game against Narellan at Community Oval on April 11 after losing their first two games of the season. Two close losses against Oakdale 32-24 and East Campbelltown 34-28 on Sunday at Warminda Oval have shown the Dragons can match it with the best, but captain-coach Willie Macdonald will want the team to arrest their early season form slump. Club president Greg Burke said the game against Easts was a seesawing affair, with Moss Vale getting punished for a few mistakes. Having Mark Delamont back from a stint with the Cronulla Sharks and former Moss Vale junior Josh Champion playing in the centres is a boost for the club, but they were unable to stem the tide on Sunday. Macdonald had his first run after nearly losing his hand in a work related accident but the team had plenty of room for improvement, Burke said. Reserve grade lost 40-6, while the under-18s had to forfeit. Paul Maloney has taken up the reigns of the under-18s after Bruce Noble had to step down because of work commitments. Maloney coached the current group of players during their junior years and club secretary Luke Hannon was quick to squash speculation the side had folded. He said the forfeits were because of incomplete paperwork and cricket finals commitments. In a bid to boost numbers, registration is free thanks to sponsor Subway Moss Vale. Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm. Appin beat Bowral 38-10 in third grade. |

Maverick I agree. It shouldnt be that hard should it, I have heard the roosters have cancelled a reunion to re unite the 2001 grandfinal sides. Because they cannot get a set date for there home game against oakdale. Officials from the club have TRIED going through the right channels, with out any response to date. Will the comp be having a results and fixtures page on the group 6 website ????. we still have last years results displayed. |

Campbelltown Eagles defeated Mounties 36-14 at Cabramatta tonight, Mounties having a number of X Campbelltown Eagles Players in Grant Lahey, Jamie Szczerbanik, Dean Loader, and Troy Gibbs. It looks like the Eagles clean out worked as the young players from Campbelltown looked enthusiastic, fit and romped home in the second half, well done Eagles! No Group 6 A graders where present in the team |

All Saints u/18s were kicked out of the comp because "the paper work was done in time" they were also told that the players that they had coming back from SG Ball would make them have too many rep players, and they had to get rid of some even though, under the points system, they would be under the points. They are now looking at playing out of the district so they can play together. That would mean about 8 SG Ball players would be playing in another district, leaving them open for other districts to take. These kids still train 2 times a week not knowing and not getting any answers about where they can play this week or next. They already have Balmain looking for them. Why do the powers to be want these kids to go elsewhere when all the kids want is to stay where they are at All Saints and play in their local competition as 1 team. They are ready to play this weekend if some body will let them

I guess we need to look at the bigger picture being the comp itself , is it healthy for a comp especially with u/18's and the problems it faced last year that a side 3/4 full of magpie rep players are going to smash eveyone of the park?? You don't need a crystal ball to tell you that this will occur, it did last year. The whole comp had to be regraded due to some teams having far superior teams than their counterparts. Even the stronger group 6 teams like Mittagong & Picton were no match for ESA or All Saints. Interesteing to see where this heads. As far as city signing Grey Viane he's a handy player , when he made a cameo for Narellan a few years back he made an impression but city are very close to their points cap and Viane played VB cup in 2008 for the magpies and will be deemed a 40 point player as per the points rule as it was the highest level of footy he played the previous 3 years....... watch this space

Disco Stu, Why is the points structure the same for a NSW Cup NRL or Bundy Cup player the diff between the 3 levels is huge yet they all are the same points under this current points system. |

Brownie they are considered to be the top 3 tiers of rugby league in NSW. Also the competitons themsleves are largely based in sydney metro areas so the geographical nature of those competitons make it an advantage for the northern based teams in the group6 /wests competiton to have access or attract these players hence why they attract the most points. Its meant to stop cashed up clubs from stacking their teams with players of this calibre and to even out the competiton. I remember about 8-10 years ago before the points system was brought in when Camden had the likes of Andrew Willis, Cameron Blair,Darren Britt,Damian Kennedy, Travis Baker playing all ex wests magpies. Yet one would argue that a 1st grade player from Carlton Illawarra, Newcastle or Canberra league are probably of equal quality being from strong competitions also but are only worth 20 points. Yet they are miles away from this competiton and very unlikely for any teams here to attract those players. |

if im correct didnt gray viane play nrl for the tigers and had a 2yr stint in england. So how is city pulling all these players under the point system they have to be over. This comp is goin to over before it even starts if ur goin to have teams putting up cricket scores week in week out wont be appealing to others to come and watch therefore the home team wont have gate takings. This area needs this comp to go ahead other rugby league will be taking a gaint leap backwards and they will lose there juniors to soccer or AFL cause campbelltown and camden are both great sporting areas. At the end of the day wests or nswrl or country rugby league need to step up to the plate and start laying a foundation and start taking this comp under there agenda more importantly. just a thought guys cheers and go u magpies/tigers 2010 is our yr |
