Shame Robbo are in group 7 now would have been good to see them play rivals Moss vale and Mittagong in there return to 1st grade. But they prefer it down there i guess.
You never know hopfully they will return one day.

Are these the clubs puting a First Grade side into the Combined Comp for 2010? It will be the making of an interesting comp with there being only 18 rounds. Does any one know if Wests have adopted a points system for 2010. I am only asking because it has been said that Valley players have gone over to Ingleburn and it would seem that they haven't adopted a point system.

I believe the wests teams have adpoted the points system from what ive heard, it would be interesting to see how many valley players have gone to the bulldogs as per the points system its 25 points per player. But it remains as this is their first year in adopting the points sytem if they will start at 400 points per club like all the other group 6 clubs were last year. Mind you its still silly season so anything can happen but something that should be monitered.

The Campbelltown Kangaroo football club is very excited to be back where we belong. We look forward to renewing on-field rivalries with our friends in Group 6 and enjoying a cold one with you all after the game.
Everywhere we go in 2010, the Kangaroo football club will leave its good name.
FYI- we are currently looking like getting 5 teams: 1st Grade, Reserve Grade, 3rd Grade and 2x U/18s.
While we have a very proud 1st Grade tradition, the Kangaroos did field two reserve grade teams in the 70s ('Roos and Wallabies) and if we can help contribute to the 3rd Grade comp, we will. Far more important that those boys play League and not Onion or AFL.

Alex Melville.

Jason Sampson is no chook
BY SEAN CUNNINGHAM
17 Feb, 2010 10:03 AM

HE IS known to many rugby league fans as a Rooster, but Jason Sampson has returned to where his successful senior rugby league career started: to the Ingleburn Bulldogs.

Sampson, a former Thirlmere/Tahmoor player is player-coach with Ingleburn's first grade team in the Group 6/Wests rugby league competition.

A premiership-winning player, Sampson was first grade's top try-scorer and highest points scorer in Group 6 in 2008.

He said he had witnessed a ``lot of potential that needs harnessing'' during training sessions with his new teammates.

``Training has been quite solid, so I'll see if I can manufacture a side and from what I've seen at training, it looks a good prospect,'' Sampson said.

``I had a lot of good mates at Thirlmere and it was difficult to leave, but I'm looking forward to the challenge of going back to Ingleburn and playing alongside my brother Brett.

``I played my junior footy in Campbelltown with the Warriors and played first grade for Ingleburn for three years in a row.

``I think some players were a little disheartened with results last year, but I'm quite optimistic and want to make sure we can be competitive this season.''

The club could be on the verge of a new era if Sampson manages to rally his team and instil some confidence on the playing field.

But he is looking for help from locals to spur the Bulldogs to victories.

``We're trying to put a bit of a culture back in the club to involve the community to come and support us,'' Sampson said.

``Part of the idea is to get reserve grade more involved and drive community interest to get fans to come along and watch us.

``I think our team is a good attacking prospect, but we can't just rely on five or six players. We need to work as a team.

``I'm touting myself as a five-eighth, but I can always fall back to the centres and I'm quite confident in my own abilities at five-eighth and I think I'll enjoy that position more.''

The signs are looking good for Ingleburn to produce a successful season.
