I think it was a great initiative giving the local kids of Group 6 a chance to play a game at Campbelltown Stadium.

Hopefully this will help inspire them to want to play there as a Wests Magpie or even a Wests Tiger!

I think its important to get local kids to feel as if they are a part of the greater rugby league community in the Macarthur and feel a sense of pride and ownership of THEIR stadium.

You should have been there before the U/13's kicked off. They had their photos taken with the grandstand in the background. I think the parents were as excited as the boys - there were plenty of parents with video cameras out when the teams were running through the tunnel out on to the field. One player commented later in the day about how great it was to play on the grass. Obviously Campbelltown grass is a lot different to Group 6 grass!

 that's awesome! I was hoping that would happen. When I was at highschool we had our athletics carnivals at Campbelltown Sports Ground and it was always special to be at the stadium that my Wests heros played out of. It really helps you feel like you belong to something bigger. :correct:

I hope more local kids get a chance to play out of there during the season.

Why not get the 6s or 7s playing at half time aswell more kids there the better i say. I know my son heard about it and was hoping he will get a game up there sometime.

:winner: Well done to Wests Magpies, what a great idea and well recieved by Group 6 juniors, with the cost of the stadium it's a win win situation for everyone, the sad thing is this wouldn't work for Wests Juniors, for one, the parents would kick up a stinck having to pay, and two, is the relationship between the juniors and district club, the juniors should look at the bigger picture and that's the kids of the area.

NSW Cup Round 14, with Wests looking to get back into the habit of winning when they face the Auckland Vulcans. We also have a full program of Group 6 Juniors games kicking off from 10:20am

Looks like Wests are doing it again next weekend! :yeah:

Great initiative - just a pity the Wests Junior League won't play nice so their kids get a chance too.

The following teams will be playing on Saturday 12th June at Campbelltown Stadium;

The U/13A's game will be Mt Annan-Currans Hill JRL v Mittagong JRL on Saturday.

Group 6 JRL is very appreciative of the opportunity that Wests Magpies have given to them to play games at the Stadium before their NSW Cup games.

Here are the results of the Group 6 Juniors games played at the Stadium today before the NSW Cup Wests Magpies v Auckland Vulcans.
U/13A's Mittagong 20 - Mt Annan-Currans Hill 18
U/14's Moss Vale 32 - Appin 12
U/15B's Mt Annan-Currans Hill 22 - Mittagong 16
U/15A's Narellan 24 - Camden 18
It was a great day for the boys and their parents. There were no actual Group 6 Junior's games scheduled for this long weekend but these teams volunteered to play these previously washed out games at the Stadium today. Thank you to Wests for giving them the opportunity and Group 6 Juniors will be there again next week.

Great to hear. Disappointed my old junior club the Rams lost to those pesky Jets.

I hope this is the beginning of a stronger bond between Western Suburbs and Group 6. Hopefully the Wests Tigers can getinvolved too. Maybe some joint training camps.

We need to ensure we build on the Pathway to Success, with the end goal being a logical stepping stone from Group 6 / Wests juniors -> Wests Magpies -> Wests Tigers

Now if only we could get the Wests Tigers to relocate their training and hq to the Macartthur region.
