I read in the sunday telegraph today and it says that officials may have the annual City V Country game at campbelltown stadium next year. They then stated how this move would rob country fans of this annual match. I guess the sunday telegraph haven't realised there is literally a bush competition on the doorstep of southern sydney and have only looked at from the point of view that its Wests Tigers & Magpies home ground.Country support isn’t just confined to people living out in the bush its also there on the fringes of Sydney metro. There isn’t much difference the game being played at Campbelltown than that of Win Stadium Wollongong and Newcastle in years gone by. How good would it be if it happened to see a Group 6 rep game as a curtain raiser to the main game??

Unfortunatly the is no ground in group 6 big enough to host the game. Moss vale, bowral, thilmere and Camden are grounds that are big enough to xpand and have grandstanding which would give it a chance to host a game as such. Group 7 host all there big games at Centary field in Albion park and its the group "Boutique" ground. Thats somthing that is needed here. Christ even Goulburn has a grandstand!! |

Yeah most grounds in the bush that have held the city v country clash in the past have had a grandstand, Wagga Wagga, Bathurst,Orange, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie etc. Just a guess but must be a requirement in order to hold such a game. |

Waminda international Stadium has a grandstand, what a great place to have it, imagine Ben Hornby doing a leg spin on the cricket pitch |
