Council cannot offer you a training venue if you fail to play in the Wests comp. That would go against the entire National Anti competition policy. Council's cant favour one organisation over another.

anyway, I'm glad you have founbd a training venue Rooke. BY any chance, does it fall in the Camden local government area.

If UWS Magpies paid there Bills they would have been welcome at UWS!! Thats the mail i got from a UWS employee.

And with the amount of cash they have spent at there grounds what a shame not to have league there!!

Eaglevales first Official Training of 2011 saw a total of 32 players turn up. A very good turn out considering there are still about 5 or 6 guys who are definate players still on holidays and unable to show...

Although its still very early things are looking more likely that we will have 2 sides.

Hello all, this is my firts post as i have recently moved up from south coast and i am looking at playing this year in the cambelltown area and i made enquiries to all 15 clubs who advertised in the chronicle paper a few weeks ago yet only 5 clubs i contacted could advise me when training started two being from the liverpool area which is a bit to far for me as i live at bradbury so i went and checked out the 3 other clubs last night two in the ingleburn area and to my disbelief only a handful of guys where actually there most staff so i then drove up to eaglevale and they were just wrapping up a few more then the other teams but not alot of quality to be honest,i then decided to drive past easts at waminda and saw at least what looked like 100 + guys still training so i went and enquired about training and was told they are playing in group 6 this year i was very impressed with the set up and i will at training thursday and hopeful of getting a run and playing in the group 6 competition with easts as i have heard some really good reports on this forum about the group and how it is the best comp from wollongong to inner city.i didnt feel the local league was very organized and clubs seem worried about the prospects of the west senior grades this year. anyway ggod luck to all teams this year in both competitions.
A few more then other sides??

We had over 30 players at our first training run last night.. If you were that keen you could have come and said hello and you would have found out alot more then what you would have seen..

But good luck to you.

30 players is good is that due to the merge with rsl as was reported on the forum? are you confident there will even be a 2 team competition? and what will happen to your players if a 2 team comp doesnt eventuate? id be very concerned if i was 1 of those players that may miss out - how many confirmed clubs have 2 teams Mad Tiger is it not false advertisment to potential players that there will be a 2 team comp when nominations are yet finalized let alone a draw formatted - seems a little unshaky is wests doing alot in way of promotion and advertising the comp? and by all reports they have not had a 2 team comp in many years have they stated why it will be different this year to clubs and members and do they have a sponsor for the comp yet? my impretion i got from clubs i spoke to over the phone was they were very uncertain and couldn't really give solid answers to my questions. hopefully for your club Tiger i hope it is a success either way good luck for the season my friend.
The Merge with RSL was never on, it was total rumour. In fact it would never have been a merge as we have our full side form last season, so wouldnt need to merge to make a side..

As for your comments on players missing out, the way we are going we will have 2 sides, no matter what comp we play in so i dont see how anyone will miss out.

As for Wests and the competition all we can do is wait right now, but no matter what happens there at the end of the day there will be a place to play for all players, whether it be in the Wests comp or elsewhere.

People keep referring to the point about why don't wests teams stand up and fight, but has it not been made clear by many from group 6 that we are not wanted?? I personally would love the combined comp to still be going, but at the end of the day if certain Wests teams arent wanted then what hope is there??

We as a management group have discussed our options should something not work out, however at this point we are waiting till the next seniors committee meeting before we start to panic...

If by the chance that things don't fall into place as Wests hope then they themselves will need to step in and assist clubs in finding alternative options.

As soon as we have a clearer picture on what is going to happen all of our players will be informed...

GOD i hope Wests get a good comp so we can talk footy as this is getting very boring!! If people dont like whats going why not assist the clubs that are trying there butts of to get teams in there local comp??? All the bagging dont do anything to help the local lads that want to play footy.

Its a sad state of affiars if players form livo or mac fields have to travel all the way out here to play footy.

we have battled since 2008 to keep one team on the field so i feel for the clubs out there trying to stay afloat and everyones continued bagging of them is weak worry about your club guys!!

I might be a bit thick but I dont understand how the two are related how can you be turned down the Junior league aren't part of the council - as stated in earlier posts they are a private business - So why is it an issue wouldn't it be just an application to hire the ground the same as you would hire a hall privately so long as you arent trying to take over a ground that is affiliated with another club and had all the appropriate insurances I cant see how you could be turned down isnt in the rate payers/ and communities interest that all these grounds are being utilsed by the community irrespective of where your flag flys it is dead set wrong

Well said... I was trying to make a similar point earlier

What if there was a mass exodus and all the clubs went cap in hand to Group 6 where does that leave these less desirable clubs and the wests comp... done and dusted

( I am not by any means blaming any of them :finger: )just sayin!!!

so Long term - by my understanding does this mean there is basically this giant pool of Wests Juniors that will pour into say the three or four Campbelltown based (lets call them the desirables) Group 6 Sides (as wests wont have a senior comp)

Question is - How would your true Group 6 Clubs feel about that :letmesee:

well that would depend on the club embracing CRL footy having played in both comps there is a huge diff.

Last year we asked every team we played (Baring 1 particular club :fight: ) upstairs to our after match function Only City,Appin and Warragamba acceptted so next year we will gladly go back to there local after a match. But NOT ONE team in the Wests comp invited us for a beer after any game!

Also the way we recieved at alot (not all) grounds will be left in our memory!! Certain clubs ground managers that refused( And i asked nicely) to ask there own patrons not to swear infornt of our ( and there) woman and children OH as well as the sheep noises and inbred chants these will stick in our mind when we decide to vote.

But in saying that there are clubs in wests that where fantasic to us and we would gladly vote in!!

Just to set the record straight - All Saints has had three training sessions with 32 different players showing up (only 2 tyre kickers) - plus another 3 committed players on holidays, 1 still working awaiting change of shifts, another 7 committed players still haven't shown up and another 3 undecided. Still only early days - we would love a squad of 50 training BUT it is not the NRL and they play for the love of the game. Everyone shows up when news spreads of a game especially the Polynesian players. At this stage I know of only one 2010 registered All Saints player that is tyre kicking at the TITANS.

The big issue with any club wanting to play in another group/competition is location. As I understand it according to the NSWRL rules a club that PLAYS and TRAINS in a district can only play in that district. Many many years ago All Saints looked into the possibilty of playing in either the Parramatta and/or the Canterbury-Bankstown Junior Leagues BUT the answer from these two areas was NO unless we relocated into those areas. Unless clubs located within the Wests boundries are given the go ahead by Wests and the NSWRL I doubt they will be covered by INSURANCE. This is only my humble opinion.

warriors- my name is LOL because im laughing out loud but you have already worked that out!

allsaints, burner- where would your club stand if the numbers dont come through and what would be the minimum sides you would play with? as your 2 sides could be forced to play each other yours, titans and i dont see other clubs feilding 2 sides with reading these rumors, trumors :L i hear minto is just about done :-/ jed will try hard but rumors are the numbers will not stack up as 4 have already gone to eagles and the rest will head out to G6. my sorce tells me that mtannan will feild 3rd grade and be strong with 7 RSL players
We started training last night, and had 32 players attend. Others were not able to make it due to work commitments and oztag. We will be fielding 2 sides, i can assure you that 7 players havent jumped ship to Mt Annan, the boys are there to play as a team and are loyal to each other, hence the reason we are getting a very good return of players from the previous 2 seasons. They know that they are in pre-season training and have just under 2 months to prep for the season, and are looking forward to the season ahead.

Thats it wests can have a smaller comp this year and build of the 18s. Aslong as the comp is played in good spirits the kids will come up!

I'm looking forward to seeing if the Wests comp gets off the ground as it seems there will be a few 18's and 16's that will step into the comp in the next few years if they can get it sorted.
