Anyone on here dealt with the Minto Club before, how damm rude, called to ask about juniors, all i could hear in the background was a lot swearing and the person i spoke to didnt seem to know too much nor did they want to tell me too much, have two nephews in the Campbelltown area who want to play, any ideas who is best to go to. |

Considering you were looking around the Minto Area i suggest you could go over the bridge to St Andrews and play for either City or ESA Both very strong Jnr focused clubs. or in the more ctown region you have warriors, Collies and Easts which all normally have teams in most age groups!! |

Surely the only club with an excuse of not having a kit would be the Titans as most clubs always have spare kits floating around.... |

I would say the opposite, the Titans would probably be the only club that has ordered there gear, they have the highest training attendance out of all the West Clubs and how many West Clubs can be garunteed sponsorships and players, just a question Mad Tiger, has your club ordered it's senior gear and confirmed senior sponsorship for 2011? Questions like this should be thrown around at the Wests Seniors Meeting, sponsorship is everything for seniors and without it you don't have seniors! |

Correct. Clubs can nominate two teams but players wouldn't be interchangeable between the two teams. Laws of the Game - Western Suburbs DJRL 9’s Competition 1. Teams will be required to nominate up to 15 players to take part in the tournament prior to the commencement of the competition. 2. Games shall be of nine minutes each way (two halves) with a half-time break of two minutes. In the event of extreme weather the conveners reserve the right to reduce game times. 3. Two points will be awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. 4. On completion of the Pool games all teams will be ranked no 1-12 based on points for against (if necessary). 5. Teams ranked 1-4 will go through to the Cup; teams ranked 5-8 will go through to the Plate; teams ranked 9-12 to the Bowl. 6. There will be no teams eliminated at the completion of the round robin competition. All teams will play in the Quarter Finals. 7. At the end of the Round games, if two or more teams in any Pool have the same number of points awarded to them, the higher position in the Pool will be determined as follows: (a) The team, which has the highest difference of points “for” minus the points “against” in the Pool. (b) If after (a) the teams are still tied, then the team, which has scored the most, tries in regulation game time during the Pool matches. (c) If after (a) and (b) the teams are still tied then the team which has scored the most converted tries in regulation game time during Pool games will be declared to have the higher position. (d) If after (a), (b) and (c) the teams are still tied, the winner of the match in which the 2 (two) tied teams have played each other, shall be the higher ranked. If the teams are still tied on the basis of (a), (b) (c) and (d) the winner shall be determined by the toss of a coin. 8. (d) After a try has been scored, both teams and the referee will take up normal positions for the re-start of play. One touch judge will remain behind the goal posts to adjudicate on the kick for goal and play will be re-started immediately the Touch Judge has given his decision, which shall be final, and the kicker has returned to an onside position which he must do without delay. (e) If a substitution is effected when a kick at goal has been taken, i.e. after a try has been scored or a penalty kick has been awarded, the substitute player is not allowed to take the kick. Both of those rules are standard for 9's football... In fact the toss of the coin to seperate equal teams has been used in many similar competitions over the years. |

I gotta say I dont like that rule. Surely the ball must go some distance forward? Whats to stop the kick going backwards? |

It's a tap kick - not meant to be kicked any distance. Same rule as touch football. |

Sure would hurt to lose by the toss of a coin. As a suggestion only wouldn't a penalty shootout similar to soccer be more appropriate? |
