Ill give you some info on the comp so far... Minto, All Saints, Titans, Ingleburn RSL and ESA are all looking like having 2 sides. All have approached Wests asking to enter 2 sides into the 9's competition. Mac Fields are still looking at getting a side. Things arent as doom and gloom as everyone makes them out to be. Also there has been an advertisment in the Local papers about rego's for the Senior competition... |

the fantasy league lives, mad tiger & burner this is nonsence New league format set up for Liverpool clubs 09 Feb, 2011 01:00 AM SIX Liverpool clubs will play in the Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League senior age competitions this season on Sundays. The Champion reported in December the WDSJRL was planning to end their two-year combined competition alliance with Group 6. WDSJRL chief executive Julie Luke said after a recent meeting with their clubs a new competition format was finalised. The Sunday competitions will include two divisions of combined under 17/18s age groups, A grade and A reserve grades for open age players. The Liverpool clubs: All Saints Liverpool, Ashcroft, Hinchinbrook Hornets, Valley United, Liverpool Titans and Liverpool Catholic Club. Julie Luke said an inaugural nine-a-side competition will launch 2011 on Saturday, February 26, at Hillier Oval, 2pm. The preseason 13-a-side competition starts on Friday, March 4, at venues to be announced soon. "It's good news for the 13 participant clubs, six from Liverpool and seven from Macarthur districts, which are going to make it strong rugby league competitions for Sunday footy," Luke said. "Competition games will be played on a home and away basis." She said Campbelltown Sports Stadium will be extensively used for senior grade games. Luke said the Sunday competitions will start March 27. |

Good god there is so much talk on this forum just treading all over the wests comp. You guys want to know why we are struggling at the moment? Because theres only a select few that want to put in the hard yards. The teams that have stepped up, especially those with 2 sides, should be commended. If the other clubs want to make something of this comp - then get up and do it. Find the sponsors, find the players and make a go of it. Sure you might not be the strongest team on the park this year, or even next, but look to the future. There are plenty of people out there who want to be apart of Rugby League in Macarthur, but they need to be shown the way - and confidence from the clubs is the best way to deal with it. Hell look at Group 6 - Bowral are doing exactly what I am talking about. They do the hard work, might not be the strongest side on the paddock, but are growing, and thats what all clubs should be aiming for. Warriors78 I wouldn't completely rule your club out. I know alot of the boys down there - they almost have a whole team ready to go - but haven't been able to lock in a coach. Yeah its tough - but going through the hard yards is what footy is all about. The fact that there is another Liverpool side won't hurt the current teams nearly as much as you think. There are a large number of Liverpool local who were outside of district and will now look to come back. And on top of that, it is a whole new set of local rivalries to build upon, which can only help the game. In the past Liverpool had close to, if not more clubs running than Campbelltown, suggesting they can't handle 1 new side completely belittles the area. Clubs are too worried about themselves and not the greater good. The wests comp will take time to grow, and it needs the right people in the right places to make that happen. |

if wests can get a 6 team 1sts and 6plus seconds that a decent start!! Get a few clubs to build in the lowers via res/18s within 5 years learning as you go a 8 team 1sr res and 2div 18s would be a great result for the region. Also goodluck to the Titans if they can form 1st res and 18s there a massive assest Edited by Highlander, Feb 11 2011, 11:05 AM.

I think that article is referring to the fact that the 13 clubs will partake across all 4 divisions... Nowhere does it say that there will be a 13 team A grade or A Res Grade comp..... Clubs like Ashcroft, Mac Saints, Collies etc will most likely only have 17/18's but they are classified as seniors so would come under the 13 Senior sides... I agree with Highlander, 6 Team A Grade and A Res Grade comp would be a great start for the innaugural season and a great stepping stone and its looking like being something very much like that at the moment... It's still early days for most unpaid park footballers, due to heat, other sports, etc., but a six team Wests 1st & Reserves plus two divisions of 18's is looking very possible at the moment. Most Wests clubs will be represented in the seniors in one of the respective age groups. Hopefully the couple of rugby league games on the tv this weekend involving NRL players will help raise the interest level and also swell registrations. |

Our numbers have been the same as the last 5 years, we have a great coaching staff, very loyal players and we are very excited for the pre season comp to start, Most of our sponsors stepped up to help out in the Jim Beam/Bundy cup, I must say we have a fantastic lot of sponsors that I also consider good friends, our sponsorship has increased but we don't intend to throw it all on 1st/Res/3rd Grade Group 6, we intend to spend more money on Waminda Oval to get it up to scratch and give our club a good venue to play out of, we are about to announce a Major Sponsor for 2011 as well as 2 new sponsors that signed this week, the answer is, our club will be better off in Group 6 and we will have a long and prosporus future! |

Hello everyone, Can you smell the dencorub, the footy is almost here. Our coaches have been giving it to us but everyone is responding and we have even had a few players come out of the woodwork who we havent seen for a couple of years. I really enjoyed the tackling drill last night coach. Been hearing a fair bit about whats going on around with the other teams. All saints will have two teams. We have around 40 players on the books who keep showing up with 5 or 6 more confirmed as coming back but will have to wait until Oztag finishes to see them more consistently. Minto are strong with two. I heard a few from titans have moved over there since a few old Minto boys started training again Drove past Titans on the way to training the other day and they have around 30 to 35 the night I saw them. At the nines from Cabra, I noted on the program around 6 or 7 Easts players from last year were playing. I heard they played well but need to gel together a bit more. They also had a couple of All saints players from our Under 18s in 2009. LCC have had around 20 every training so they will field a reserve grade side and will be backed up by an under 18s team. They also have some massive prop who gave league away to play Grid Iron for the last couple of years but is back to play with his cousin at LCC. Not sure of his name but Ive been told not to run straight at him. Mac fields have a really young team and will play reserve grade. Again they have around 20 players showing up. I have heard good things about their coach who is trying to rebuild with these young guys. Ive also heard Warriors had 18 at training last night. Mad Tiger keeps saying eagles may have two and IRSL have had consistent numbers at training. So it looks like, All Saints x 2, Titans x 2, Eaglevale x 2, Minto x 2, IRSL x 2, and add to that Mac Fields, Warriors and LCC. Ive heard Bulldogs havent given up but its too early to be sure what division or the amount of players they have. In regards to the unders 18s, I havent heard too much but we had a few new ones roll up last night. We also had a few All Saints originals come back to be part of our u18s. Looking really positive. And I know all of our guys are looking forward to the nines tournament. Should be a good day and it will give everyone a chance to see what players are around and where they have moved too. Two more weeks and the footy is back on for us all. Got to say, very pumped. Good luck to everyone this season, Its going to be a cracker. |

are these clubs or teams confirmed, if so the you should be able to provide a pre-season & premiership draw, if these things cannot be confirmed by now, i have to take everything as not true, group 6,7,9 pre-season & premiership are all ready done, how is it that wests can't produce anything about our comp no dates no teams why are wests holding off . What is happening with this areas rugby league is discusting & you have now given them afl all the ammo they need i do think that the crl & nswrl need to discuss this asap if they wont then this new commision should step in right now to resolve this, or else rugby league in the macarthur area is dead, afl are sitting wainting for everything to fall over, then they will pounce lol. PS- Campbelltown rugby league is dead. the best they can come up with is 3rd grade tell me if i am wrong by the way has anyone on this site ever bothered to ask the players or more importantly the 6,7,8,9yr olds who hey would like to play for when they grow up where they would like to play once they reach seniors, because these 6,7,8,9 yr olds are the future, do you want to push them away. if there club has seniors they will follow It makes me sick to think that afl got a crowd for a nothing game bigger than ours was for the grand finals, this dose not make sence. |

Have heard Minto, All Saints, Titans, ESA all want two teams in the Wests 9's tournament. Don't know about Ingleburn RSL or other clubs such as LCC, Warriors, Macquarie Fields or maybe Collegians. Anyone know if these clubs are considering entering teams in the Wests 9's?? |

If you have read the posts here on the forum the wests jrl comp is starting later hence why a draw is yet to be released as team nominations are still being taken. Hard to do a draw when teams arent finalised yet. Thats why nothing has been released. |
