I suppose Whistle Blower is Blue Devil, I can add on this, I have had 2 of my players approached by 2 different clubs to play for them in the 9 a side as they are short, one player was approached by the club that Whistleblower is from, If you don't believe me I can name the players, who approached them and what clubs, I informed our players if they play they won't be coming back, as I feared they won't get cleared to come back, they declined to play in the 9 a side! I know people are getting desperate and your 18 team competition in November, went down to 14 teams in December, 12 Teams in January, and yesterday on the phone to someone in the know, said to me they will now look at a 8 team 1 division competition with 1 or 2 clubs entering 2 teams, what will be the number in March? Every amount of teams given with the exception of February has been documented on the numbers! |

If anyone wants to follow Whistleblowers lead they will have their posts deleted and their account banned like his. I am also monitoring IP addresses and if I find you are using an alternate account to post comments as such. Both of your accounts will be banned and your IP address blocked. Please lets keep this place positive. Fair opinion and comment is one thing, but lets be constructive. In the end we all want to see what's best for Rugby League. |

Highlander i hope we are wrong for wests & more importantly for rugby leagues sake, they need to have a comp in the wests area, but history & the present talk around the area tells a different story, its imposible to be an optimist when it comes to the wests comp. |

Interesting reading all the comments on this topic. I was alerted to this forum by some friends that are involved in the competition. Goodluck to easts and city with their move to group 6. It appears both these clubs have chosen a different direction and want to play a higher level of footy. Im sure both clubs will do well. As for the remainder of the wests clubs, its good to see some positive feedback from quite a few clubs. Hopefully your hard work pays off and you can all get a decent A grade comp up and running again in the district. As seems to be the trend on these things, i have heard some rumours around the traps aswell. Can anyone shed any light on the following???::: * valley cant field a side due to most players defecting to minto? * talk of wests local clubs joining the combined district competition (souths, balmain,st george etc) if the wests comp doesnt come to fruition? * local wests comp referees defecting to group 6? |

Not sure Leagueman about the rumours, but if there is a points system in the comp, then i would say Minto has some trouble keeping under them, if the players from Valley are going across under the combined comp, each player worth 25 points right there...... |

Its interesting that the Valley boys went to Minto. A couple of years ago Valley seemed to be well kitted out with all the gear, bags, jackets etc. Well sponsored by their local pub (I think) in the Wests Comp and came runners up that year. They then went to Group 6 and smashed reserve grade. They then, rather than play 1st grade started a new side (Marconi) and played in the Parramatta Comp. (and won that) So as a side they have done well no matter where they went. (although I think they should have shown the balls to play G6 1st grade) So what would entice all these players to Minto, a club that was in finnancial trouble not long ago until a TV show (the secret millionaire) helped them out to rebuild their clubhouse, and could not even form a side last year? Or do they think they will just walk into another Grand Final without to much opposition? Edited by Maverick, Feb 17 2011, 11:17 AM.

Please tell, give us a clue at least, Do we have the draw for the 9's due to be held next week? I would like to attend, Surely team nominations are in, All Saints, Bigshow, Mad Tiger, or Burner could you please update the current position of the competition? Do you know what amount of teams will be in the 2011 1st Grade competition? Is the rumour 1 8 team competition true? Not being negative, just asking the questions everyone wants to know! |

The 9's Draw has been done however teams aren't placed into the draw as yet as final nominations don't close till monday.. There will be 12 teams, 3 groups of 4. Kickoff will be at 2pm with the Cup Final held at 9pm.. As for the season proper its all rumours at the moment, but what we are hearing is it WILL be 2 divisions with numbers being about 6 teams in both... Once again until the competition numbers are finalised nothing can be released for certain... We will all get a better idea come next week once the 9s are run.. |

If earlier posts are correct, Minto (containiing multiple experienced players from other comps) should be one of, if not, the favourites. I believe if the teams do put their best players in their first teams Eaglevale & All Saints should also be highly competitive. What does everyone else think? |
