Some one forgot to mention the final was stopped for about a 40 minute due to the fact some poor bloke from ESA had to be taken to hostpital with possible neck/spine injury.
Ruined what was a very good day for us... 2 teams in the finals, 1 winning the Plate, however a big downer....

The early signs were good for him and we have our fingers crossed, Nobody wants to see things like that happen...

As for our side, we were very impressed with their performances, to go down to All Saints by 2 (a conversion on the siren) shows we will be strong.

I was very impressed by you guys yesterday. Con and the guys have put together a fantastic team. One of your players could be in trouble later on in the year as he lifts his knees in the tackle, but if he corrects that it'll be fine. Any news on the player? I was TJ when it happened and when the ambo was out there he didn't look in a good way.

Thanks, Its been a big effort by alot of people to get together what we have.. Con has the guys very fit and will be getting into them even more in the next couple of weeks...

The Guy u are referring to with the knees has had that running style for a long time, it has been looked at and in fact he doesnt use his knees, he in fact bumps off with his shoulders.

There were good signs with our injured guy, and we were hoping for the best, but as with any neck injury you never know. Will post and update as soon as we get more of an idea...

Good to hear the injury isnt serious.

i was able to get out and watch a couple of hours out there yesterday. It was good to see so many teams involved. We all know this competition wont be as strong as group 6, but this is about building a solid comp so the strong junior base we have has somewhere to play.

I think yesterday was a step in the right direction.

From the games that i did see, minto looked good and will no doubt be the side to beat.
That said, all saints and titans will be competitive if they build on what they got.

Eagle vale also looked to have a good young side with some quality players.( Noticed Con Spanos involved. Heard a few murmurs yesterday that he may play...any truth to that Mad Tiger????)

It sounds like it was a disappointing end to the 9's, lets see what the comp has to offer.

The friday night trials have been the plan for at least a month from what i understand. I would imagine the wait on the draw is getting final teams in etc etc.

Is the Reserve grade going to play in the pre season comp, if you only have 4 solid 1st grade teams, it hard to work out over 3 weeks, as a fence sitter and I know everyone is being positive and doing their best but it doesn't look good!

Will they scrap the reserve grade and make LCC and Warriors play 1st grade, and if they play, will they last the season once they get hammered by Mino, ingleburn Burners and I don't care what Burner says, they won't have 2 teams, and talking to one of the Burners players yesterday he said he was only filling in to help his brothers team because they are short! If your short for 9 a side your heaps short for a full side!

I've always said this, time to walk across the boarder, kiss and make up, because it's not going to be a healthy season, it's a long season and if it's not sustainable it will all be a waste of time and effort!

All the talk is about Mino, that's what the foghorn yesterday was calling it! How would they go against City and East, just a question please don't take it the wrong way!

If you look at all my posts, I've always asked the questions so when I write, please don't take anything personnal, just love me footy and see it how it is,

A couple of people phoned me today to see how dad is, Thanks for your concern, his ok, saw shoulder but bloody funny!

Sorry Burner, I thought Ingleburn Burners was the dissapointment of the day, but Warriors over achieved for what they had, will be along season for both,Warriors 78 you must be happy to see the White, blue, gold and red back in action!
Bare in mind fence sitter, we had a mix of 18's, 1st & 2nd grades, and were pretty much using it as a trial, and the 2nd team that we fielded, which was the younger side by far managed to beat all saints, lose by only 4 points to ESA who played in the final against minto, and only lose by 4 against warriors. The 1st side, won the bowl final and played every game bar 1 with no reserves, due to work and other things, they also managed to put 30 points on LCC with only kicking 1 goal to get into the final. So I wouldn't go saying that we were a disappointment, we were missing a few players who were unavailable due to other commitments!!!!!

Some one forgot to mention the final was stopped for about a 40 minute due to the fact some poor bloke from ESA had to be taken to hostpital with possible neck/spine injury. The lights were booked for 10.30pm but someone at council got that wrong and turned them off at 10pm.
All Saints played Minto in the semi and after leading 10 nil after about 6 mins Minto got flustered and resorted to the old way to win. Couldn't work out the decision that turned the game though, Minto's 7 was sent to the bin for a bit of biff and then Minto got the penalty in front of the posts which they managed to score a six pointer.

It was a pity Minto resorted to these tactics as they showed all day they are the side to beat without them.

Final score Minto 14 All Saints !0

Sorry I couldn't make it, I had ballroom dancing classes at 3pm, tell me that number 7 isn't my old sparing partner Steve Sherny/Isdale? This is funny, Nadel, Sherny, all you need is a Jones and you have the tri-fecta!

Though Sherny and I have had many variencies in the questions we answer, I cannot believe he has registered his son at our club, I asked why? And he replied "I want my son to play for a club that will look after him" Sherny may hate playing the eagles, but I'm sure his son will love putting on the red and white!

A positive sign for the club, our new player registrations has gone through the roof, record amount for mini sides for 2011 :winner:
