I see your excitement referee felah, but as a local I have grave concern for the future of this comp, tell you why! Collegians, been a senior force in the lower grades, where are they? Ingleburn Bulldogs, won more premierships in the last 10 years, where are they? Mac Fields, always good for a senior team and competitive, where are they? Valley, good entertainment, where are they? And then take out the roos and Eagles that have once again dominated the player talent pool are in Group 6. I just look at the amount of teams and yes 7 games, but at what quality? I had massive concerns for you guys and always demonstrated my eagerness to bring the combined comp back, looking at the drawl, i am god dam right, see it has me so worked up I'm using the lords name in vain! I will be there tomorrow night, keep an eye on the fence, love worrell park, your right on the action! I think the roos and eagles made the right choice going to G6 and as much as people will not admit it, especially on this forum, deep down you know they are right! |

Here's a hot day's sight for Liverpool rugby league players http://www.liverpoolchampion.com.au/news/local/sport/general/heres-a-hot-days-sight-for-liverpool-rugby-league-players/2090333.aspx ![]() (Footy's back: All Saints (in green and gold) and Eaglevale St Andrews (black and white) in action during the nines at Hillier Oval on Saturday.Picture: Wes Lonergan) IT MAY have been a hot summer's day and a balmy evening but the players were back in action at the Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League's nine-a-side event at Hillier Oval. Twelve open-age teams played in the inaugural competition. "It was a great day and night for all and it's great to see the new season under way," said Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League chief executive Julie Luke. "The players did well to brave the heat." Luke said they intend to make the nines an annual event to kick-off a season. There were three competitions played in the round-robin format on Saturday. Minto Cobras won the main competition, the cup; Eagle Vale St Andrews won the plate and Ingleburn RSL Club won the bowl category. The WSDJRL preseason competition for the senior grades starts this Friday, March 4, at Hillier Oval, at 6.30pm. Edited by disco stu, Mar 4 2011, 10:11 AM.

if this is true about brown, i would think that your club is in deep trouble, the photo tells it all were dose this leave west with a player contracted to another club playing with you in the 9s, didnt you also have a player seriously injured in 2008 with spinal injuries who had to be air lifted to hospital, it is also questionable about his eligabillity for that game, isnt this case still on going in the courts. PS: i would hope wests take the appropriate action if this is true, i have also been told that this player is scheduled to play in the kiama 9 for the eagles / country rugby league he was at eagles training on thursday night. this is a very serious breach of the rules if true, you can not have players running around playing for different clubs whenever it suits them, this is not a very good look for wests or the game. |

Wests Pre-season results from Hillier Oval played Friday 4 March. Titans 10 defeated Minto 6 Minto 22 defeated All Saints 6 Titans 12 defeated All Saints 4 Lights didn't go out and no major injuries. As for the standard - well that's a matter of opinion but no one asked for their money back. |

sounds like you wernt even there so how would you know, i was there & i can tell you standard was pretty poor, like i said titans have improved but mino still the team to beat & looks like all saints are in for a long season. These sides would not be able to compete against the eagles or roos. PS: if this is wests first grade, i wont even bother with regies, also what are fairfield pats doing playing in the wests comp, or is this things to come my sources tell me that they are trying to get merger with parramatta. good luck boys. |

Hey everyone, Just to Clarify, we have a standing yearly trial with Fairfield Pats which we have done since 2003 alternating between our home and theirs behind Sizzler at Lansvale. It was our turn this year. We booked this trial around 5 weeks ago for our reserves as they also need a pre season hitout before the season. My Mate ALL SAINTS volunteered Hillier for any Wests teams that wanted reserve grade trials and Titans, Minto, IRSL and Eaglevale were all keen. It was an easy choice for them as they dont have to set up and pull down the oval and it gives all the reserve grade teams a chance to blow some of the rust off. LCC I beleive have their own trial in the next few weeks and warriors are using the preseason as their trials like the rest of the 1st grade sides. In regards to last night, it was the first real trial for all the teams and I think the coaches treated it as such. We had 6 of our 1st grade squad out last night so even though we didnt win, it gave us a chance to give some of the new boys a run. We picked up 3 players this week alone and we have managed to wrangle back 2 more players back that were being chased very hard by some other clubs around the area. Our coaches are not too worried and they now know the areas we need to work on. I think the killer for us was dropped ball. we just seemed to tackle for around 10 sets in a row at some stages. Good to see Wests also trialling two refs and giving some of the younger guys a turn refereeing A grade before the season proper starts. I managed to have a chat with Brett Samson who is playing for Minto. He was dissapointed that the bulldogs folded but most of the boys have moved around to other clubs and not many went to group 6 teams from what he was saying. Glad to see he is still playing as I know he was thinking of retiring. Also spoke to Keiran Richards, he said Titans are training well and have a new trainer who is putting them through the ringer. As I was at Hillier I dont know how the standard at Milton was but we should be able to get a better judge of where teams are tracking next Friday when Eaglevale play Titans who are both undefeated in the preseason. In regards to merging with Parra, there has been know talk at all. As far as I know, Its still wests 1sts and reserves aiming for 6 in each grade. Regardless of what teams we are playing, Im just excited that the season is around the corner. I wasnt able to play last night but I am really looking forward to next Friday. |

What we havnt had any young blokes come through for the past 10 years, you are kidding yourself, there is no way these young men will stay for the year getting belted by a side like Minto and then hang around for years to come, you have no idea and should stick to refereeing! You have no idea how dissapointed I was Friday night, the only hope is a combined comp, again you and others have no idea, the rumour with the Parra comp is probably true, surely people running the game out here would be looking at that, there were enough West officials at the game to see what this non competition will be, I am sick of reading all these teams have these players but every week they had commitments else where, must be a month of Weddings! All I ask people on this forum is to be honest, you can't have a 4 team A Grade competition, and that is what I see! |

Couldn't have said it better. . Fencesitter, you don't sit on the fence, all you have done is bag the wests comp at every opportunity. RSL has a few 1st graders out at the moment, this is why they only had supposed 3 reserves, just glad to see that you could count, they actually had 4 or 5 on the bench. Fencesitter, I ask you this, do you actually know anything that is going on within the wests clubs, I mean do you really know anything? Or is it all made up and what you want to believe? If you don't like what you see, well then that is your choice, you don't have to watch, you're not 10 years old anymore, your a grown man who can make his own choices. That goes for anyone else who wants to be negative or spread rumours, don't, go somewhere else, it's not wanted or needed. Big Show was pretty much on the money with everything he said, so there was no need to attack him, the way he was. Edited by burner, Mar 6 2011, 08:10 AM.

i think the wests jl can be given more credit than that, they know 6 teams wont survive a 21 game season in A grade or A reserves & have something up there sleeves like a parra jl combined comp good thing is the early staging of the pre season comp, wests can now see clearly the difference between top & bottom teams rsl will run 5th or 6th in both comps, can put a bad seniors team on the park |
