Congratulations to City / Easts for making it into the Group six Comp, there hard work & persistence has paid off,
now how many clubs will now try to jump ship.
Now that the draw is out City v Easts first round, rumor is that it will be at West Stadium on a Saturday night, is this true.
This would be a great start for the group 6 comp & for rugby league in the Campbelltown area, should draw a big crowd.

All Saints A grade & A Reserve grade start training on Tuesday 11th January at Hillier Oval. Saints have retained most of the 2010 squad plus a few additions.

Coaches at All Saints for 2011 are:
1st Grade :Alan Fry
Reserve Grade: Charlie Alam

Both have had experience coaching at the SG BALL Magpies and bulldogs.
We are currently talking to a couple of people about coaching the under 18s sqaud.
A announcement will be made early in the new year.

We are a Wests Affilated club and as such will be playing in the Wests A grade - 1st and reserves and under 18s competitions. Thats the decision our Seniors committee have made and all of our players support that.
I dont know what its like in the other clubs as I have only ever played with All Saints,
but they are all saying they want to wear the All saints Green and Gold.
They dont care what comp they play in.

Lets be positive guys, we need everyones backing to get this competition where it should be.

Ive said it before, Good luck City and Easts, hope to have you back in our comp one day, but for now,
Lets make these the wests comp work. Be positive. I have every confidence in our representative on the Seniors committee making the right decisions for us but also for the the good of every club that is affiliated with wests.

As ALL SAINTS said, Pre season training starts on the 11th of Janaury for the saints and all the boys are chomping at the bit ready to get back into it.

Time will tell who is in the comps, but Im confident it will get back off the ground.
We are putting a lot of work in now to be ready to go in March.

Just remember, before the combined comp got off the ground,
there were only 5 team 1st and reserves competitions in groups 6.

We all have to start somewhere. Ill be following both comps with great interest.

Have a good new year everybody! See you in 2011.

East/City isn't 100% but Campbelltown Eagles and Kangaroos are! They both have never been affiliated to West Juniors and never will, both are new Group 6 clubs voted and affiliated!

Who will rubber stamp clearances for players to go to their " new" clubs? considering the levels of admin a clearance needs to get thru. If players are affiliated under their old clubs, clearances to their " new" club(s) maybe another issue.

Bulldogs will be kicking off their training on the 18th Jan 6.30pm & a BBQ afterwards. They are looking to turn around the last 2 seasons & getting back to what they used be.

1st grade will be coached by Col Besant a well known identity who has had a lot of success with coaching club juniors, Junior Magpies & the West Magpies 17s development. Reserve grade coach will be Tom Perry who has several senior grand finals under his belt.

As with the all the clubs staying with WSJRL the Bulldogs hope to grow & improve footy in the coming seasons.

As long as a player has not been defaulted, they can not be refused a clearance.
Its as simple as that.

I understand that, i thought maybe some certain levels of admin could play hardball with clearances from city>kangaroos, easts>eagles using affiliation as their reason :cstars: Judging by peoples experiences here on the forum dealing with league admin it would be no surprise. Hope the transition goes smoothly for all concerned.

As a player, who would want to play in the west comp.
Yes this will be a fantasy league, it will be a bash & barge
comp, with many fights & bad crowd behaviour, as past
history will show.
No player that is even half good would want to stay in the
wests comp, when you have 5 clubs city, easts, narellan, mt
annan & camden all within a 10 km radius, all been in the group
6 comp.
Good luck wests.

After so many years of not been able to put a desent grade comp together, it is obvious
that the people trying to run the comp, dont know what there doing, the buck stops with
the board, for a wests comp to succeed, the board needs a clean out, ( just like the
Australian cricket team ) put in some fresh blood who care about the game, until this
happens the wests comp will allways be seen as second rate.

Couch Potato - The Wests Board have approved a Management Committee, which has representatives from the various Wests Juniors clubs, to assist/oversee the running of their Senior Competition. The Management Committee meets once a month and makes recommendations to the Wests Board. Hopefully this Management Committee will aid the Wests Board in operating a viable seniors competition. The Wests 2011 Senior competition will be run on similiar grounds to last years successful 2010 combined competition. On a positive note - With clubs such as All Saints, Liverpool Titans, Ingleburn Bulldogs, Ingleburn RSL, Minto Cobras, Macquarie Fields, Eaglevale, Collegians, etc indicating they will be fielding First & Reserve Grade teams plus clubs such as Hinchinbrook, LCC, Warriors, Macarthur Saints, etc, nominating for Reserve Grade, Wests will hopefully have a viable seniors competition. Admittedly nominating a team and fielding a team are two different stories but one needs to be positive.
The dates for the Wests Seniors Pre-Season competition are as follows:
Round 1: 4th March - Friday/Saturday night games
Round 2: 11th March - Friday/Saturday night games
Finals: 18th March - Friday/Saturday night games
Games will be played at enclosed grounds such as Worrell Park & Hillier Oval

Competition starts: 27th March - Sunday

What management committee, who do they report back too, wests jrl?.
They make recomendations to the board, is this the same board thats been there for
the last 20 odd yrs, if so then nothing will change,
Where will the players come from, what will it cost to watch a game, what will the prize money be,
where will games be played, is the draw out yet.

Ps: Dose your non-management committee have a plan to stop all the riots ( worrell park late 80s )
but they could get away with this now as cage fighting is now legal once worrell lock the gates,
last man standing
This will just become thug league in the fantasy league comp.

Geez gotta love the negativity... How bout u wait and see what happens rather then constantly talk about the negativity of years gone by..

Things are changing, slowly and surely we are improving the competition, but with people around like you who are constantly bringing in the negative aspect it will continue to go nowhere....

If you don't like it go and support your Group 6 comp, and keep your views of our comp to yourself...

Well said Mad Tiger - It would be great to see Eaglevale -St Andrews with First & Reserve Grades. All Saints v ESA was always a competitive game. Everyone knows that with the high paying Group 6 clubs at the Campbelltown end and Bundy clubs with licenced premises such as Cabramatta, Mounties & Wenty at the Liverpool end that the Wests A grade competition will not be anywhere near the standard of say Group 6 or Parramatta A grade first division for example but that's ok. However, there are players out there who just want to play for their local club with their mates. As long as players like "The Big Show" turn up every week and enjoy their game of footy that's what really matters. As a volunteering official it's not always easy donating your time and energy but when you see the dedication of players who play just for the love of the game it makes it worth the effort.

I said I would try and not be negative but this talk off every club having two grades makes me wonder, how many clubs in the West Comp last year had 2 teams? And know they are multiplying, are they breeding? Where is the extra cattle coming from, a number of clubs struggled keeping 1 team on the paddock, ESA is good example, do the numbers game and this is what happenes with West every year, that amount of numbers doesn't exsist in senior footy in West and if it did we wouldn't be here with this problem! Be a realist please!

Devil, just wait and see what the case is first. Have you ever thought that these clubs now have U/18's coming through into grade!!!!! That is the case with RSL, and i am gathering it to be the case with the other clubs that are in the Wests senior comp. The clubs have benefited from the last two years being part of the combined competition, having the numbers grow. Yes we are not all as strong as Easts and City, and if you asked anyone from within a wests senior club, i could all but gaurantee that they would wish both clubs all the best for the 2011 season. But... the thing is, you have to just drop the negativitey towards the wests comp, a competition that you are no longer part of, so instead of being negative and beating the wests competition up at every chance, spreading unfounded and off the mark rumors, concentrate on the G6 comp, and give us a chance to get OUR senior competition running.
