Are the Titans allowed to form if they do not have juniors? I understand Claymore tried re-entry in 2010 and could not form enough junior teams, or has there been a back-flip on this issue?

Coach Potatoe you wanted some answers - The Wests 2011 Senior competition will be run on similiar grounds to last years successful 2010 combined competition. When you're on a good thing - stick to it. That means entry fees. The gate receipts from the Wests Pre-Season competition will be used as prize money for Wests Grand Final day. As previously advised 8 Wests clubs have nominated First Grade and Reserve Grade with another 4 clubs nominating for Reserve Grade only (12 in total) but I'll be the first to admit that number will not make it to the starting post but at least Wests clubs are trying. As far as the draw is concerned - we'll until team nominations are confirmed that would be a wasted exercise. As far as player recruitment goes - that's up to the individual clubs but I personally know players that are getting their boots out of the moth balls and will lace up for the 2011 Reserve Grade competition in Wests as they can now play with their mates at a local club in a competition standard more to their talent or lack of talent. These guys just want a run. Lack of facilities, player recruitment, volunteers, finances, player and crowd behaviour are all concerns but if Group 6 has never sinned let them cast the first stone. Most Wests clubs are positive about the 2011 seniors competition - as I don't have a crystal ball - time will tell if this optimism pays any dividends but please be positive on this forum and not so negative.
i applaud your honesty, but where are all these player coming from easts & city are taking almost 200 players to group
6. Where were all these players last year to play in the grades you metioned, you do your own maths there will not be
enough players. I hope you can prove me wrong but i dont think you will.
i applauded you for your honesty, but it is rooke that has provided more answers than you have,
now we know which way your comp is going, either parramatta or sothern sydney comp, hope you like
to travel, no home games, no gate, no canteen, its going to be a great year.

Let it be known that All Saints are committed to the Wests competition and have not discussed the Parramatta competition. If the Wests seniors competition doesn't get the numbers for a viable compeition than in my opinion I'd imagine Wests would look at joining the Sydney Metropolitan competition that was successfully run last year with 16 teams in 2 divisions of A grade and A Reserve grade with teams from the South Sydney, Balmain, St George and Canterbury-Bankstown junior leagues. This would be a better option than Parramatta but you can't make a decision now as Parramatta and the above mentioned Sydney Metro competition are subject to team nominations. The next Wests secretaries meeting will be interesting as there will be a very strong indication of which clubs are serious about nominating senior teams and which are dreaming. Liverpool Titans will be strong as rumour says they have recruited from the 2009 Valley side that won Reserve Grade undefeated in Group 6/Marconi's Reserve grade premiership winning 2010 team and some from Easts.
all saints why would you travel all the way there? if the wests comp falls over, why wouldnt you tell wests your going to group six? you boys went great last year, even the g6 president gave you a big wrap in the grand final program. who cares who runs it,
do whats best for your senior club youve been loyal and surely you wouldve earned that rite by then.
travlling to the sydney metro comp would be MAD :dunno: & then what do you
do in 2012? wests try to get a comp again, go threw uncertianty all summer
volunteers can have a say to

The travel would be closer than alot of group clubs ie mossy or robbo!!

Look until the clubs have nominated and a draw comes out its all speculation ATM Lets hope there is a Wests comp and its a success for everyone's sake!!

Correct Highlander - all speculation until team nominations are lodged in Wests. All I can vouch for is All Saints - we start next Tuesday night but have 30 of last years squad coming back plus the usual new recruits who walk thru the gates at Hillier Oval.

Hillier oval is by far the best ground in Wests IMO used to love playing there vs livo city than walk accross the road (less traffic those days ) to the corner milk bar for a hamburger

best ground in ctown bar the
money pit is st gregs number 1.
Why can't senior footy have a ground like that? from the sound of it a few wests clubs are getting plan a, b & c in order if things don't work out

AllSaints- i respect what your saying but where will this leave your 18s if you have to go to the paramatta or canabury comp. As they do not have a 18s side they have a 17s or 19s (c garde) and where does this leave the west comp? what days will they play? will they stand alone? will there be charged gate? will they even have a comp? these are things that have to be sorted out and fast! Where will that leave ESA they have always had a strong juniors but i dont see the seniors travelling those distances well.
i wish you all the best. I dont mean to affend anyone but these are the hard questions that have to be asked

Everyone seems to be really worried about things that havent happened. Firstly, as captain of All Saints 2010 1st grade side, I can tell you that all of our players have committed to 2011.We have a couple that may of moved on but we have the bulk of our 1st grade and reserve grade sides coming back. We have picked up a few older boys who havent played for a few years but are keen to come out of retirement so they can have a run in the reserves.
At the moment, all the players are worried about is not vomiting on the first night back at preseason.
They dont care about the comp or where we will play. They just know we have built a great team of men over the last two years and really want to keep to building it up so that All saints a force in senior teams for years to come.

Ill back up what my good friend All Saints said, we are a wests team and will play in the wests comp. Our conditioners have the next six weeks of torture planned so we are good to go for the preseason comp on March 1. Thats our number one priortiy at the moment.

If the worst happens and we have to play out of district which I dont think will happen, it takes 35 mintues to get from Liverpool to St george or redfern but an 1hour and 40minutes to get to Moss vale.
I dont think the travel will be an issue.

Ive said it before, we had a great time in 2009 and 2010 in the combined comp, but the group 6 teams dont want us there so we are more than happy to be in wests. At the end of the day, we all just want to play footy.

One final rumour before I go, My old second row partner that played at All saints with me as a 15 year old in 1994 Keiran Richards has decided to have a run at Liverpool Titans this year. Im looking forward to playing against him.

See you around the grounds boys.Hopefully I survive preseaon!

35 min for you, what about campbelltown sides, you can add another 30 min travel time for them,
so there travel time is 1hr 5min, you can get to mossvale in 50 min from campbelltown, remember
you have to travel yours every week as you wont get any home games, group 6 is home & away
so you will be doing a hell of a lot more traveling.

PS: If there is a wests comp you will get to play against your friend a lot, like once every 2-3 weeks
with the amount of teams you have.

also it will be very sad times if senior football is once again lost to the campbelltown area.

The Bulldogs did lose a few but even though Gary Scott and Tom Perry is gone, Col Besant seems to have a few guys. Dont think they will get two sides but they look like having one side made up of a lot of young guys from the under 18 sides they have had over the last few years. Time will tell.
