Sorry Disco Stu, your close, it was a mini bus that was built in 1973 that had the whole team of 17 plus coaching staff travelling down. Top speed was arouund 80 I think and it broke down on the way home. Still, it built a bit of team bonding.

AllSaints- i respect what your saying but where will this leave your 18s if you have to go to the paramatta or canabury comp. As they do not have a 18s side they have a 17s or 19s (c garde) and where does this leave the west comp? what days will they play? will they stand alone? will there be charged gate? will they even have a comp? these are things that have to be sorted out and fast! Where will that leave ESA they have always had a strong juniors but i dont see the seniors travelling those distances well.
i wish you all the best. I dont mean to affend anyone but these are the hard questions that have to be asked
no one ones replied to you lol, because they dont no whats going to happen with 18s, they dont even know whats
happening with seniors, they seem so pre-occupied with Eagles & kangaroos to worry there own comp or clubs.
Why are they only concerend with eagles & roos, when they also have the macarthur bulls looking good for the group 6
comp & uws fielding 1st & reserve grades in the sydney comp, this will also put a drain on player numbers for the wests
comp.

Coach Potatoe you wanted some answers - The Wests 2011 Senior competition will be run on similiar grounds to last years successful 2010 combined competition. When you're on a good thing - stick to it. That means entry fees. The gate receipts from the Wests Pre-Season competition will be used as prize money for Wests Grand Final day. As previously advised 8 Wests clubs have nominated First Grade and Reserve Grade with another 4 clubs nominating for Reserve Grade only (12 in total) but I'll be the first to admit that number will not make it to the starting post but at least Wests clubs are trying. As far as the draw is concerned - we'll until team nominations are confirmed that would be a wasted exercise. As far as player recruitment goes - that's up to the individual clubs but I personally know players that are getting their boots out of the moth balls and will lace up for the 2011 Reserve Grade competition in Wests as they can now play with their mates at a local club in a competition standard more to their talent or lack of talent. These guys just want a run. Lack of facilities, player recruitment, volunteers, finances, player and crowd behaviour are all concerns but if Group 6 has never sinned let them cast the first stone. Most Wests clubs are positive about the 2011 seniors competition - as I don't have a crystal ball - time will tell if this optimism pays any dividends but please be positive on this forum and not so negative.
i applaud your honesty, but where are all these player coming from easts & city are taking almost 200 players to group
6. Where were all these players last year to play in the grades you metioned, you do your own maths there will not be
enough players. I hope you can prove me wrong but i dont think you will.
i applauded you for your honesty, but it is rooke that has provided more answers than you have,
now we know which way your comp is going, either parramatta or sothern sydney comp, hope you like
to travel, no home games, no gate, no canteen, its going to be a great year.
Rooke provided rumours...

He clearly stated that.
rumors again, but i have heard that roos have approached you for use of your ground as you wont have seniors
& there ground is not even good enough for tranning let alone playing on.
but the best one i have heard is that there will be more group 6 games played in campbelltown than west games
as the campbelltown sides are not prepared to pay the exorbitent prices imposed on campbelltown stadium by who
ever leases this ground.
How good would this look for the campbelltown sides.
I look forward to watching eagles & roos playing out of campbelltown stadium.

Wouldn't it be good if Wests Juniors Clubs could jump on board with the Western Suburbs Magpies to share use of the ground and its costs?

The biggest draw back with the Stadium is that the clubs hiring it cannot provide their own catering. Its the only way they could possibly make money from the gound.

Lets hope this independent commission makes all these stupid politics irrelevant and finally the best out come for Rugby League (the game) and its future becomes the priority.

PS: rumor or trumor i heard eagles & roos have been ordered to have meeting with west & nswrl, but have
REFUSED as they are affiliated with group 6, can anyoune confim this. Blue devil can you confirm this.
CRL the ruling body over Group 6 are rather quiet in all this also, they dont seem interested in the arm wrestle but handed a hospital pass back to group 6 to deal with as it seems to appear.

Hey mad tiger, is it just tiger from now on due to your merger.
are your seniors now the eaglevale tigers.
Sorry mate, but i have no idea what ur reffering to....

All i know is that Eaglevale don't need to merge with anyone, we have approx 30 players who are keen to play with us. Including the majority of last year's squad...

Im confident we'll be playing in a wests comp, but if not then im sure we'll be fine no matter where we play.. I mean its easier to travel to parramatta or somewhere in sydney then it would be to Warragamba etc like we did last year....

is that because all your players would be travelling by train & there are no trains that go to warragamba.

PS: how dose it feel to have 2 of your local juniors at the roos 1 as captain coach

No not all would travel by train, In fact if that situation did arise im sure the club would be up for arranging buses for the team...

As for the 2 boys at city, good luck to them...

To let you know, there is no or had no meeting being requested to sit with West or NSWRL, we are new clubs affiliated to Group 6, Group 6 is better than travelling to Parramatta, or Sydney Comp, enjoy your new competition, Good Luck!

couch potato- are you trying to be funny ?? but haha they do have a southern highlands train line its a great sunday trip you should try it sometime! :D

madtiger- good luck with your bus trips that would cost a fortune $400 a pop 18 rounds and no homegames :L

rooke- no one can answer this question it has not been discussed all people want to talk about is the 1st grade and reserves but what about the 18 remember they are the future and they do mattter and if they were to stand alone in the west comp they would fall apart within 1 to 2 years and this will not solve your open grades problem!

allsaints- you might be able to answer this! are you part of the west sub board for seniors? how much power do yous have? when are you going to talk about the IMPORTANT issues that we all want to know? and what is the minimum sides that you will run with in all grades?
what are the plans for 2011 and 2012 ? no affence but these plans should have been put in place a while ago when the comp split early november! and when is your next meeting? it needs to be before febuary otherwise it might be a case of the horse has already bolted!

So Guys do we actually know what is actually happening with the comp - Ive not heard a thing from our club secretary ( but nothing surprises me there) - I find out more on this forum than them
When are we starting
Are we running independently
Will there be a preseason comp??? or will we start end of April same as the juniors
If the Open Age teams are going to play in the Parra/ Sydney comp as is rumoured will this include the 18's if not do you think they will run the 18s on Saturdays ???
I have heard so many conflicting stories it makes it bloody hard to feel confident about the competition one would think we would have all this outlined by know so we know what direction we are headed

Mate don't believe everything you read....

Im expecting thing to get clearer in the next week or so, alot of teams seem to be returning to training then so we will get a better idea on who will have and who won't have teams..

The plan is for the pre-season comp to start early March from my understanding...

Doing my best not to be negative but it is a little worrying that there is not any information coming from the board in regard to the wests comp or whether clubs shoulod be looking at other arrangements.

i would have hoped that at least a plan of action would be in place so everyone knew what was happening.
