Look for first points to come from a penalty. Ref will try and stamp his authority on the game early. Oakdale to go into half time up by 4. And east to end the game with a try on the corner by a winger off a set scrum move and win by 8. Just my thought on how I think the game will go. If sporting bet took money on the game I'd go oakdale halftime- Easts full-time, and Easts 1-12. |

Lions ready for grand finals BY LAUREN WRIGHT http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/lions-ready-for-grand-finals/2294167.aspx ![]() DOWN on their luck for the last few years, Mittagong Lions are ready to roar loud and proud again on Sunday when their under-18 and reserve teams play for the premiership trophies. The under-18s finished minor premiers, but will face Camden at home in what coach Carl Davey said would be a tough match. "Camden are a really difficult opponent. They have some really high quality players and they'll punish us if we don't do the simple things right," he said. With a week off, Davey said the team had time to refresh and were now focused on the job at hand. The last time Mittagong under-18s won a premiership was in 1983 under the leadership of current Group 6 president Grahame Andrews.Davey said the boys were aware of how long it has been between drinks but were more focused on the game itself. "There's always going to be nerves and excitement. I just hope the occasion doesn't get to them too much," he said. "They're worrying about taking the game as it is. They understand they have the potential to win if they play smart." In what has been a long season for the boys, Davey said they had remained committed and worked hard all year and were "deserved grand finalists". While quietly confident they could win if they kept up their enthusiasm and desire, Davey said it was a two team game and anything could happen. "It comes down to the best performance on the day." For the reserves, it has been 20 years since they last raised the premiership trophy and skipper Lee Hayes said they were keen to end the drought on Sunday. "It would mean a lot to the club," he said. "Mittagong have struggled for quite a long time and it would be a big booster for the club [and] keep a lot of young guys around." The Lions finished second in reserve grade to Campbelltown Eagles who beat them in the finals and who they will face again on Sunday. "I think it's a good thing we lost to them two weeks ago," Hayes said. "We're quite confident we can win. It's going to be a hard game and everyone's looking forward to it." The Eagles have a bigger forward pack and Hayes said the plan was to "run their big guys around" and move the ball wider. Edited by disco stu, Sep 16 2011, 03:09 PM.

After doing a sweep of all the online publications i was disappointed to see the promotion of this weeks group 6 grand final is somewhat lacking in content. At least the highlands paper gave something in regards to the Mittagong Lions for their grand final matches. For what its worth at least some promotion is here on this forum. |

Thanks guys! Glad you get a laugh out of them, that's all they are good for. I agree, regarding Billy Boots I think he's on borroewd time, especially considering the quality of journalists looking for a gig. Look no further than Bobby Sox: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXiOWWK0rC0&feature=related |
