Excitement for Tigers visit
LAUREN WRIGHT
02 Feb, 2011 01:00 AM
EXCITEMENT is building in Bowral primary schools with the news NRL West Tigers stars will be visiting next week to promote the game of rugby league in Bowral.

Group 6 rugby league development officer Scott Borg, will run initial rugby league clinics this week at the schools and return next week with the NRL stars to further promote the game.

The clinics will focus on the basics of the game such as passing techniques.

Borg also has a number of fun and exciting fitness drills for the children.

The St George Dragons' visit a couple of years ago was a huge thrill for the children, and the visit by the West Tigers this year is also greatly anticipated.

Bowral Junior Rugby League Club "Kookaburras", are encouraging any boy or girl who wishes to play Rugby league or just to train and have some fun.

Group 6 plays mini and mod rule versions of rugby league, which allows equal participation of all players in a safe and fun environment.

Bowral Junior Rugby League Club will hold initial registration days over the next two Saturdays, February 5 and 12, with a sausage sizzle at Woolworths in Bowral from 9am -11.30 am.

Group 6 rugby league development officer Scott Borg is also running a "Come and Try Day" on Thursday, February 10 at Loseby Park, Bowral from 4-5pm where anyone interested can also register to play.

To register, new players will need to bring a copy of their birth certificate, utility account, Medicare card and a passport size photo.

For more information on Bowral Junior Rugby League, please contact Peter Howard at bjrlc@live.com.au or call 0429?043 556.

Macarthur Brothers ???? who are they and what comp do they play in? will they be insured???? no group 6 clubs

Macarthur Brothers are based out of Appin with players from the Wollondilly , and will be training at wonson oval Appin. As what their objectives are beyond the cabramatta nines remains to be seen. They are not affiliated with any comp , check out their story here ,

What happened to the Eagles?
I think because they are in limbo so to speak between nswrl & crl they cant get insurance for players to play, could be wrong though as macaurthur brothers are playing with no affliation to anyone.

no affiliation would mean no insurance, and easts are affiliate to group 6 must be something else if the brothers are playing or they agreed to play not insured, wouldnt want to playing in this heat not insured its a big risk and injury as well if you work not worth losing a job for a broken leg playing a social 9s event with no income coming in
A couple of reasons, firstly we have to transfer all players from East Campbelltown JRLFC to Campbelltown Eagles RLFC, we also had to jump a road block or two that was requested we do and have it at the G6 meeting Monday night, by the way G6 have been so supportive and our club is so proud to be affiliated to a well run organisation and very supportive clubs, you all are an assest to rugby league!

Hi Guys

I read earlier in the post that there were only 2 signings. That was:

Todd Tasker - Narellan and Lee Baxter - Camden.

Well Lee Baxter is confirmed with Camden.

Todd Tasker did not sign with Narellan at all.
It's confirmed that Todd Tasker is back at Thirlmere in 2011.
Where he played in 2007.

I also hear that:

Ryan Russell has come from Windsor Wolves nsw cup to play at The Oaks Tigers.

& Ronald Prince is in talks with Thirlmere Roosters.

I havent heard alot more on signings.

Oakdale Workers have 2 strips now. A Home and Away strip now. Only for First Grade.
Easts have changed there strip to represent there 50th year.

Is it true Warragamba have a first grade team for 2011?
Macarthur Bulls have a lot of players turning up,but has Group 6 confirmed them in the Comp?

2011 season is only around the corner.
Can't wait. And this year,Group 6 is going to be the toughest and best its ever been.

Good luck to all teams

In regards to the 18s Knock-Out today, the football was quite good , very hot but enjoyable. 2 questions what is the go with Robbo in Red & Black. isnt that The Oaks colours?. And the guy on the PA had a shocker he got the score wrong over & over, times wrong and ummed & arghed all day long . Also where are Pictons grounds people because i think they are still in holiday mode. Oh and they left the goal posts at the beach too.
