Yeah i heard the same about The Oaks. I also heard they are making their Reserves & 18's pay to play for the first time. Sherwin apparently was close to signing, but may be down the coast now, it's all chinese whispers at the moment |

Who have the Oaks bought??? With most teams having trained for at least a month is there any more signings that can be confirmed. Putting these on the forum will only promote and enhance the opportunity of people wanting to attend more games. Mossy and Camden have been pretty open with there signings, would like to know more as I am sure most other people on this forum.

Club is getting big bucks to renovate http://www.macarthuradvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/club-is-getting-big-bucks-to-renovate/2077664.aspx ![]() APPIN Rugby League Football Club has received a grant worth almost $50,000 which will be used to renovate its clubhouse this season. The club received a total of $48,850 — $38,850 from Illawarra Coal through its Illawarra Community Partnerships Program and $10,000 from Wollondilly Council. The club president at the time of the grant application, Leigh Hough, said work was due to start soon. Hough said the club was appreciative of the council and Illawarra Coal's decision to grant them the funds. "It took a lot of time and effort to get the grant," she said. "It's a massive amount of money." The clubhouse will get new toilets, showers, tiles and renovation work will be done to the roof. It's a race against time to have the renovation completed by the start of the season. Work has to be completed within six months but Hough said she was confident the new-look clubhouse would be finished at the beginning, or soon after the season had started. |

Oakdale just got a $44,000 grant from the NSW Government to Install new lights. Being that the ground is privately owned, it was a huge suprise. |

Congratulations to both Appin & Oakdale - it takes a huge amount of work by club committees to access these grants. I know Leigh Hough from Appin worked very hard last year to get this grant. |

Just read in the Illawarra Mercury that Shifty Sherwin has signed with the Helensburgh Tigers. It is disappointing as I would have liked to see him run around in Group 6. Good to see player signings are being announced though as it builds a little excitement for the coming season.

What sort of lux coverage will you get with your light upgrade TC ? I know Moss Vales light upgrades will be done in stages and have a lux coverage over the field of 100 , which will be good enough to hold night fixtures. |

Average Lux across the whole field is 129. In Majority of the playing surface it is a lot higher, but the figure drops in the extreme corners of the ground. We were told by the lighting engineer that these would be more than sufficient for Semi-Professional games. It's good to see some investment, lights at Oakdale will ensure viability of the both Football and Workers club. Edited by tc6_11, Feb 17 2011, 03:19 PM.

I heard the same but i have since heard about some of the players they are rumoured to have signed, if rumor is true they will struggle to stay under the points. |

Watched Camden play Thirroul tonight at Kirkham. Seemed like there were more people in attendance than most of the Rams home games last year. Camden were outplayed by a fitter and more classy team that waited for their opportunities. Camden dropped a lot of ball, as would be expected in the very humid conditions. Camden were without 6 of their regular first graders, but they showed some good signs, and more than held their own. |

I have heard that the Oaks have bought a young hooker that was playing Qld Cup ex West junior, But that would have to make another 40 point player. |

I have heard the points will be watched very closely this year both by group six and also group six teams. Both looking over the team sheets with calculator in hand. I predict a few blow ups through out the season. |
