I have heard the points will be watched very closely this year both by group six and also group six teams. Both looking over the team sheets with calculator in hand. I predict a few blow ups through out the season.
Teams can blow up all they want, the fact of the matter is, they crucified Oakdale last year, so precedence has been set.
Disregard at your own peril.

I know our club last year displayed our points every home game in the program, the simple way is to have a sign on sheet that accumulates the points as you sign the players on, the Bundy cup does it that way,

Maverick, who is the Eagles junior signing with the Oaks, the only player that I can think off that is a hooker playing in QLD cup, is Shannon Fish, didn't know he was back

Glossy
But after a bit of research I found he was in the Foggs Cup.
I am unsure but I "assume" Qld Cup would be equal to our State Cup and Foggs Cup equal to our Bundy Cup?

Yeh, he didn't make first grade for Foggs cup and only played Reserve grade in Foggs cup, he played reserve grade for East C/Town the year before, so he would only be a 10 point player for the Oaks, he didn't play QLD cup

I think he did make First Grade Fogs Cup.

I know he didn't play too many games there because he didn't finish the season, does that make him a 40 point player? If it does, that gives them alot of points, Toa Asa, Ronald Jones, and others rumoured to be at the Oaks

Must admit, we also will be adding the points every week,

Can anybody in the know answer that?
How many games at a high level represents a 40 point player?
Just one or must they play a minimum amount of games?

Just a guess here but Ron Jones would be worth 10 points as he's had a couple of seasons at The Oaks , not 3 consecutive seasons though to be classed as a 2 point local player.

With the pre season comp not far away and a few players for the Oaks listed above does anyone elsehave any other player signings / rumours to get even more interest in the upcoming season?

If the players have signed a contract it would be difficult, without a good reason, to leave the club so clubs should be able to announce new signings or retention of players.

Other CRL groups / comps announce signings all the time in local papers, it seems Group 6 are well behind the 8 ball in this self promotion.

With the rumoured signings I have been hearing in group 6 so far I think all clubs will have to monitor their points very closely! There still seems to be some grey areas in the current points system, lets just hope clubs are careful and the group is fair and equitable with the monitoring of each club's points situation. A sensible and logical alternative to the current system would be to make reserve grade players exempt from points and lowering the points limit to just cater for the first grade team and if a reserve player steps up into the first grade sqaud for whatever reason, only then does he become a points valued player... just seems ridiculous that clubs have to enter reserve grade player points to me.. clubs could be forced to turn players away from the game who just want to play, which is not healthy for the longterm viability of the local rugby league, any thoughts?

The idea sounds good, but would that not give a team without a first grade side open slather and sides with both grades could load up their sides for tough games.

In the end if more and more quality players want to play in this comp, then the points level may have to be lifted to accommodate a higher level competition.

It will be interesting to see how Oakdale go against Bankstown Bulls in their trial. I have been saying for a while that this competition is getting towards Bundy level.
