Hi all, Can i say from the start i am the Coach of the 3rd Grade for Campbelltown Eagles, may i also say that any comment made by me will not be that of the Campbelltown Eagles.

Have been reading with interest and as the season comes closer, you cannot help but be excited, to all the Group 6 clubs thankyou for allowing our club to be part of the competition, last year i enjoyed each and every aspect of the season, even the bone chilling day down at Robertson playing against Bowral ( damm that was a cold day).

We are looking forward to the 9's in Bowral, so Highlander roll out the red carpet we cant wait, feel free to add some white to the carpet to really make us feel welcome. :correct: :correct: :correct: :hey: :hey: :hey:

A bit more to the story about Bowrals clubhouse being vandalised which highlander touched upon a couple of days ago.

Footy headquarters trashed
http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/news/general/footy-headquarters-trashed/2091415.aspx?storypage=0

SOME TIME last week the Bowral Rugby League Club's headquarters was trashed.Club officials guess the attack on the heart of the club at Loseby Park took place over the weekend from February 18-20.In what appears to be the work of more than one vandal, irreplaceable club memorabilia and supplies were viciously destroyed and/or stolen.

Junior Kookaburras president Mick Galvin, who puts his heart and soul into encouraging children to get the most out of playing league, said a grand final blazer from the 1970s was found in the middle of the oval. The break-in couldn't have come at a worse time for the club, whose canteen full of supplies for an upcoming Group 6 third grade nine-a-side gala day on March 27.

The vandals broke in through the downstairs canteen and not content just to steal bottles of Gatorade, they damaged a newly purchased commercial fridge and urinated in the clubhouse.Mr Galvin said it was heart wrenching when he saw the destruction. "Very disappointed. Juniors and seniors have done a lot during the off-season to raise money to give back to the kids, but now that will have to go to improve the facilities," he said. "Unfortunately we might have to make Loseby Oval facilities look more like a fort than a clubhouse."

He said he found some empty drink bottles down by the skate park but couldn't fathom why youths would want to attack the club like this.

"I have no idea who," he said.

Bowral's senior vice-president Adam Sargood said "random clowns being silly" were responsible and many of the items stolen or destroyed had little value outside the club.

"Take the food and drink but don't ruin our history," he said.

"We have a couple of weeks to prepare, so we will have to bust our guts."

Mr Sargood was calling on the community to help the club."Any ex-Bowral players who could help us get the fridge fixed, which we bought for the gala day, would be good. "We are a non-profit organisation."

Police conducted fingerprint analysis at the clubhouse on Thursday. The canteen at Mittagong Sportsground was also broken into last Tuesday night with drinks and food, belonging to the Mittagong Touch Football Association, also stolen.

Mr Galvin had a simple message to those responsible ,"Grow up. You wouldn't like anything like that done to you, so why do it to us," he said.

"We're here to do something for the community.

"We are going to have to do a fair bit of work to get it up to scratch, it's not going to hold us down.

"We're getting more and more kids every year, we're getting bigger.

"By the start of the season we will bounce back.

"Hopefully they'll find the culprit and justice will prevail."

Anyone with information on these break-ins should call Bowral Police on 4862 9299.

Hey Rooke, 1995 i believe we won the comp that year, and remember there were two of us involved that year, i am the younger of the brothers, the other is still at the same joint, the Eagles welcomed me with open arms, the Devil and the committee has been very supportive and great to me.

As for being 60, i usually feel about that old around the end of June start of July, what position did you play? Remembering we were still cutting oranges back then.

And Highlander, sorry to read about your 6's coach, i know once i speak to the boy's they will contribute to a very good cause.

Yes i am hearing a lot about the bulls, we are heading in the right direction, a few new faces, some old one's as well but for sure the same party mood.

New signings boost Camden's hopes for 2011
http://www.camdenadvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/new-signings-boost-camdens-hopes-for-2011/2090468.aspx

CAMDEN'S bid to win a Group 6 rugby league first grade premiership has been boosted with new signings, including the return of 2009 Group 6 Player of the Year Chris Browne.
Stability will remain at the club with many first graders re-signing, as well as last season's coach Mark De Ubago staying at Kirkham Park.

De Ubago believes the club can improve on last season's results and is confident of success due to strengthening the forward pack, which was lacking in depth last season.

"Currently we signed most of our squad from last year, which is great, but we also signed Chris Weaver from Cabramatta and we also have Alex Vincent, Chris Browne and Ben Weir return to the club after stints away," De Ubago said.

"I think Alex Vincent will have a great year this year. He has a great attitude and has been training the house down, also Chris Weaver and Ben Weir will add experience to the side and with Chris Browne and Luke Wisby back. we look very good out the backs as well."

The club has lost the services of Zac Besant, Daniel Bullock, Jacob Gibbons and Luke Canham.

Missing out on the finals last season has given the Rams an added determination this year.

"The good thing is we will be strong across the paddock," De Ubago said. "I think the big players to watch out for are the players who played last year. They are dirty on not making the finals.

"They have been training well and are keen to get into the season.

"We didn't make the semis, but we lost three games during the year in the final minute and had seven of our starting side out for the last three games."

In his second year at the Rams, De Ubago believes a buoyant mood among players could be the key to the Rams' success.

"The atmosphere is great," he said. "They see the potential and we have a great bunch of blokes. There is no reason we shouldn't make the semis. I think that - skilfully - we were just as good and even better than most of the sides in the comp.

"We had no size and depth so we fixed that. I had a young side last year so we kept it basic, but a year down the track and with some more experienced players, we will change it a little, we will concentrate on our skills, fitness and speed will be the key." Camden's opening round will be a blockbuster, local derby game against Narellan at Kirkham Park.

"At home it will be an absolute ripper, so all you supporters get on down and watch the Rams," De Ubago said.

Fence Sitter, good reply those in charge of the Eagles are there for the long haul, i do contribute but no where to the great lengths they go to, every club should have some of these in there club.

As for the Mayor of Campbelltown, lets just say 2012 will be a very interesting year....

So early predictions, with the added info above, who will make the semis and who is the darkhorse of the comp and why?????? :letmesee:

Will be interesting to see some bold predictions. This is my opinion:

I think Mossy and Oakdale could be the teams to beat again with Eagles and City recruiting well. No one has really put a case forward as to why the other clubs will be stronger as no one is willing to put down who is signed where. Possibly Picton being the darkhorse as Thirlmere nearly always compete and Narellan keep there strong core of juniors and recently have had it over Camden so the opening round derby should be a good one. :correct:

Although Camden have got some players back with the exception of 2 new players listed and Browney, all other players that form their squad didn't set the world on fire last year.

Moss Vale are looking very strong again this year, they've only lost Rhys Lennaduzzi who is trialing with West Magpies and Jess Micaleff . Like last year they have alot of jnrs returning to the club again, Aaron DeJager a handy back who has been playing for Kiama and is a group 7 rep is returning, Matt Wortz also been playing at Kiama is returning, so is Bret Clarke one of the best kick return runners ive seen in this comp , josh saunders returning from overseas plus big centre Robert Wiya looking forward to a full season after injury cut short last year. They are heading to the Kiama Nines tournament this weekend

Also the Moss Vale Dragons 1st grade won the Berrima District sports award for the team of the year held recently.Moss Vale Dragons also won this award back in 2007 when the u/18s went thru the season undefeated premiers.

where is Ronny then TC? Narellan, The oaks, Oakdale, Campbelltown. He has had more clubs than tiger woods. Quality player but does get around
He's at Oakdale.
So is RJ a 2 point player for you then ? He's had 3 consecutive years at Oakdale after he left Narellan in 2005 but has played at The Oaks & City last 2 seasons , with the points system retrospective for the last 3 seasons played where does he fit in?

Played alot of years at Robbo jaegs!!

Alot of players from robbo have to play for Mossy when the spuds cant field teams!!

We have that same problem with kids going to Mitta when the the dropkick private schools raid our jnrs and put them in the rugby teams!!

Wortz also played for robbo aswell in 09 i think
