Easts took out the preseason comp tonight against Oakdale 16-0. Eagles have to be commended on their defence as they did not crack against a huge penalty count against them and had to repel wave after wave of attack from Oakdale. They had to beat Thirlemere in a close one (22-16 I Think) to get there but well done to the Eagles. Hi light of the night was a Matt Blunden Hit on an Oakdale player that I reckon was heard back at Liverpool.(hope the guys OK) Oakdale looked the goods but just could not get past East's line. |

LOL, you must have missed the 38 points Oakdale put on Camden before hand. No excuses from us though, Even without Ben Fryer, Kyle Weh, Ty O'Brien, Tom Casey, Rick Trevithick we still put Camden away, and i thought we were good against Easts, but Easts were great, deserving winners. The hit by Blunden on Dave Lowe was a beauty, was a good hospital ball he got. And Dave was fine. Edited by tc6_11, Mar 27 2011, 01:27 PM.

Went out to the G6 final with dad last night, oh my god! What a hit that fellah from East with the Blue Head gear, biggest I've ever seen, my dad skulled his beer and almost wet himself! It was number 7 from Oakdale that threw it, I'm sure the oakdale captain will have words with him come Tuesday! It also has to be one of the best games I have ever seen, the Eagles where brillant, In under 18's, how good is Camden, how long before some of these young guys play grade, great to watch, I bet you Eagle Vale will be kicking themselves, at least they would have competition, Camden, East, Roos and Narellan, with Picton stepping down with the sad accident within there club, I hope all involved at Picton are getting all the support they need, they are a great club and I wish them all the best! Was a great night of footy at picton on saturday night! Camden in the 18's impressed me. They look a talented, well coached and organised team and will be hard to beat! In first grade I witnessed a clinical 40 mins of footy put on by the workers against camden 38 to 0.. wow. Easts just got over thirlmere to make the final. Easts were a team on a mission and came out firing. A poor start with a dropped catch from kickoff pretty much made oakdales job impossible as easts got off to a good start, which in these games is vital. Yes massive collision blunden v lowe I think there mite be a square up there Congrats to easts well deserved victory. noticed quite a few new faces in their squad and they are set for a big year. Workers also looked impressive with a few players to return. These two teams should be the benchmark for 2011.

I think Oakdale tried to square up on Blunden when he got hit from both sides at the same time late in the game but it didn't faze him. He probably needed a couple of stitches (which he wouldn't get) but he kept playing until he was sent to the blood bin. And even then he didn't want to come off. |

A bloke from Melbourne Storm u/20s played for Easts first grade last week and scored a few tries. If he is the same bloke, he is a West's State Cup player that can't make the run on side. Why he has been sent to 3rd grade I dont know and I dont think it is right. |

No it's not the same bloke, the guy that played for East signed with them, he had been cut from premier league but now they signed Hoare they may release him to City as he is worth 40 points, not sure, the fellah that played for Appin, they said he played at Melbourne but I looked him up, never heard of him, he also wasn't that good! |

I remember playing against the Appin side from 94 very well drilled & hard side, ole Danny Bartolo in front row, former wests magpies player stan presdee at half, jason levi & mick kirkham in the centres to name a few of hand. |

The 18's game was a cracker, this is the Camden side that has been much touted for the last 4-5 years. City showed good form though. It was great to finally see a quality group 6 under 18's match. The last few years have been terrible. |

How does a small club grow if they dont move forward? What good is it to the other smaller clubs? Im sure having a 18s and a senior team you would get home/away fixtures im sure group 6 wouldnt be that heartless. Third grade should be about growth and development. See you Sunday
