Campbelltown City is still looking for 3rd Grade players, we need 6-7 established players to make a competitive team in Group 6 2nd Division. Any interested players can call President Heath Attard on 0415 721 070 for further details.
Great wins by the Roos in 1sts, Reserves and U/18s against Mossy. 16-10 in 1st Grade with Josh Radford and Jamie Szczerbanik outstanding. Can't break a winning team, the captain- coach may have to come back in through Reggies!
I notice on this forum one or two people have questioned the pedigree of the 'Roos being in Group 6. Have a read of the Group 6 history at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_6_Rugby_League and get back to us.
Anyway a great day's Rugby League at Loseby Park today, the Bowral boys creamed our 3rd Grade and we won the main one, so all round which seemed to be flowing quite freely in the clubhouse highlander!!!

couldnt pick it for the life of me, bit curious as to whats going on down mossy way..... I think Mossy are a little underdone especially not having a decent pre season hit out or any trial matches. They did however last year have an ordinary start to the year then strung 10 wins on the trot, still early days yet.

Quote: I find it very hard to understand why the Group 6 dont put more time into developing the comp in the Group district. It kind of reminds me of the the past state labour gov. I do understand that this comittee is a long standing one but I feel there not working for the clubs or there members. It seems that the easy way to build a comp is take the money off the campbelltown teams and welcome them to the comp to fill the quoter for a first grade comp year by year. But I think its time for reform. what I would like to see is the bigger club pay a small % levey or pool and this would be invested into the smaller clubs that have worked very hard to field teams in the comp.starting from clubs like Warra,Mt Annan,Bowral,Robbo and Appin. Then we can start to introduce new clubs like Bargo, Buxton and Oran Park estate.so insted of 9 original 1st grade sides we have the protental to field 14 or 16. wow what a comp. One of the true reasons we love the Group 6 comp is the conduct, players and the history. I feel any class players from wests will come to us as we have seen time after time. So the method isnt overnight but to start now. we have seen how wests reley on the Group 6 so lets unite and do this as a Group
macarthur bulls i hear will cover oran park and the group 6 committe is pushing hard to ensure this happens so #appin dog it is happening and macathur covers alot of area so the corporates will jump on that are in group 6 boundaries not ctown appin warra bowral from what i know are rebuilding look at the 9's 2nd div group 6 took it to bowral this year i think the group is doin a great job of promotion and development city roos foundation g6 club coming back in so im assuming you mean the eagles who are brought 5 senior teams to g6 in 1 year appin warra bowral have been in 3rd grade some time now and only bowral are genuine trying to build up to field more grades so id be putting me money into that club if i where g6 i thriving bowral back in all grades would be fantastic but i guess you have to spread and help develope all clubs but remember appin # 1 dog its up to the clubs to make it work and develope not the group your club appin could achieve alot out there but have sat put and not developed in years time for a change of committe maybe or help out the poor lady there now that does everything from set up to ground control to washing jumpers she deserves soem money number 1 dog and your playrs should be paying it to her
Eh nah when you see the what the group dont do to help it runs clubs into the ground FAST the group couldnt even give Appin a football after they where told they would do what ever it takes to get Appin on the field3 years ago after Stockwell pulled out but the minute the money wasnt there it did come down to love. And if you think that the poor lady that does the jumpers setup ect is the only one that helps will you have insaulted every secretary involved in footy but hay I guess you know it all mate that lady i hear does it all and deserves the credit you should be proud of the effort she puts in its ashame your other committe members and players dont share her passion and apprecaite what she does your a gem vicky keep up the good work

Disco, why did mossy take such an easy approach to the pre-season? I know you said weddings and cricket etc. But i have a mate that plays rugby and he swears that several mossy players are playing rugby, can you confirm or deny ths? Mossy v Oakdale this weekend too, big big game

A great day at Picton yesterday, some good tough footy in all games which was appreciated by all that were there.
Very proud of my team, for picking oursleves up off the canvas and coming back for a victory that will set the tone for the remainder of the year. A very big thankyou to our 1st aid staff for the professional manner they handled themselves in what was visually a stomach turning injury, i would also like to thank the Warragamba staff for assisting with this injury, it goes to show that all of us in the heat of the battle still consider the players health and well being as the priority, well done to all, yesterday leaves me very happy that our club is in group 6, a awesome day.

Mossy v Oakdale this weekend too, big big game I dont think they took an easy approach, it all came down to player availability at the time and with everything else happening around that time as well i believe most were'nt in the the right headspace anyway. I think they are starting to snap out of it and also have a few more players to return yet. Yesterday they had quite a few missing.
I can confirm there a some dragons players playing rugby now but they are ex players not current.

Dragons fail to find the fire BY LAUREN WRIGHT http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/dragons-fail-to-find-the-fire/2129959.aspx
AN injured Moss Vale Dragons pack suffered further humiliation yesterday, after a 16-10 loss to Campbelltown City Kangaroos.Smarting from a loss last weekend to local rivals Mittagong, Dragons skipper Willie McDonald said his team bounced back, and their enthusiasm and determination were clear. But after suffering a number of pre-season injuries, it only got worse for the defending premiers as a number of players left the field due to injury. The worst was Ben Murchie who was caught out in the wrong position in a tackle and was taken from the field by an ambulance with a suspected back injury.Jack Handley was another on the casualty list.
In his maiden first grade match, Handley was helped from the field late in the game with a knee injury.Minutes before the conclusion of the match, the physicality of the game came to a head, and Josh Champion was sent from the field after a dangerous tackle.
"Injuries are hurting the club all round at the moment," McDonald said.
It started well for the Dragons when Champion opened the scoring for them 10 minutes into the match, but Campbelltown hit back soon after.Tim Small was the only other player to cross the line for the Dragons throughout the match.
McDonald said while they didn't win, there were positives to be taken from the game.
"The execution, especially in the second half just wasn't quite what it should be," he said.
With a number of players including McDonald already forced to sit on the bench due to injuries, McDonald said it was a good effort by the young players who stepped up to first grade yesterday.
"We had Ben Champion who played his first game of first grade, Kevin Hill and there was a few who backed up from reserve grade that haven't played before either," he said.
McDonald also highlighted the performances of Brad Mullman, who played his first game for the club at five eighth, Ben Champion and Paul Quigg.
He said he expected to return to the field after Easter and was hopeful the Dragons could find their first win of the season this weekend.
"Everyone was pretty enthusiastic and the intent was there," he said.
"Execution just wasn't quite there today so hopefully we can turn that round next week and hopefully we can get one or two players coming back from injury.
"So just wait and see how it goes."

Yes we had a serious injury, our 3rd grade Captain Rhys Vaughen dislocated his ankle, great support shown from everyone and we wish the young man a quick recovery!
It has been a long exausting battle to get to Group 6 but we are there! Our players don't care in travelling with training or playing, but are so happy in G6, 2 rounds played already and 2 full club days, good crowed at Picton yesterday with cars 2 deep, everygame entertaining, no send offs, no disputes, just good old country footy!
It's good to play in a senior competition that is run well!

So impressive to hear the optimism coming from the Group 6 competition. The comp indeed now carries a larger responsibility on its shoulders and all rugby league supporters in the area should get behind it any way they can.
