Found out today young dragons player Ben Murchie has broken his back in the game against the roos on the weekend. Has a crushed vertebrate and will likely never play league again, can walk slightly but is wheelchair bound for the time being.I cant believe its this early in the season and the mossy club is decimated by injuries, 7 of last years grand final side were missing on the weekend and the same with reggies. Big difference between this year and last year is they dont seem to have the depth which is telling at the moment. |

One has to be mindful of what one is to say in a public forum, i think one, that is me would love to know between the JL and NSWRL how much time they have wasted on ensuring that my Club, that is the Eagles is put through the wringer simply because we chose to play in Group 6, a competition which my formerly known club East Campbelltown willingly participated in when it was a combined comp. May i remind people it was not East Campbelltown that decided that the combined comp would be no more, our club did everything that was was asked of us and represented Campbelltown with pride. One truly has to ask if our game is in such a state that those that run the game are are not accepting the democratic decision of our club to play in Group 6. One reads articles that state we are not a Campbelltown club, may i remind people that the majority of our players, coaching staff and supporters are in fact residents of Campbelltown, and if they did not feel any pride in our community then most would have defected to other clubs in the Group 6. When does this all stop, when hundreds of players are driven away from the area, it really does sadden me to see and hear all this going on. Has anyone even asked the players besides our club of what they want, or are they merely a pawn in all this. The powers that be may take away our training venue, they may say we are not a Campbelltown Club, what they will not take away is the fact we as a club believe we are a Campbelltown club and have pride in Campbelltown and get immense satisfaction of knowing we are representing the Campbelltown community with diginity and honour. |

well said cp public opinion in ctown is well on yours and the roos side people see it for what it is you know what? if the same egos had landed in the ctown netball comp instead of footy they'd be doing the same things there unfortunately local footy has suffered for way to long because of eagles roos & bulls fighting so hard change ain't far away because of your clubs ctown league has a future again |

potts the way your club has been treated by the jl and nswrl is boarder line criminal and makes you think why at all is this happening to a club that has put in so much hard work to get to where they are and the whole train/play thing is a mockery that a club can be penalised for breaching a rule that does not even excist mate id be looking at legal intervention and contest with geat haste also a sydney media release and name and shame wouldn go a stray this really smacks of some dented egos and heads need to roll that have been behing the whole lets screw easts campainge for just wanting to play in a strong viable comp jl and nswrl hold your head in shame with afl and soccer taking our kids at a rapid rate the ctown area needs a strong easts senior club BD and itchy have done well and deserves credit where credit is due for what they as volunteers have done with the club

Robbo and Warriors i know BD his lovely wife and Itchy have been through so much that they would be entitled to just walk away, they have great support from there family and friends who believe in what they do and why they are doing it. I am inspired by all three of them for the tremendous amount of pride and love they have for our club and there ability to rise above all that is thrown at them, Campbelltown need so many more people like them, they do not do what they do for self satisfaction, rather they do what they do to give opportunities for all to be the very best they can be, one can only be full of admiration for all three. You are spot on with our rival codes pouncing on our kids, yet where are those at the helm to combat this, someone tell me what is in place to counter the invasion of our rival codes. |

I wonder if the likes of Ray Hadley or a Current Affair and the the likes would be interested in this "tyranny" Whoever pushed for this to happen must be the the lowest form of person in the rugby league community. This had the propensity to expel near 100 players from the competition, and for what reason would anybody want that. Thank god common sense prevailed. I am not on any particular side as I have kids playing for both but, but I think this attempt to have Eagles 5 teams kicked out for 2 years is the worst thing I have heard in this whole debarcle. Why dont the people who want this just give our game to other codes |

who ever sent out the media realese to every man and his dog has obviously got some agenda with the easts club
and to threaten 100 players with expolsion from the sport they love is absoluotly discusting and as low is it gets i agree with Mav this has taken things to whole new deep dark low level enough is enough
we are talkin bout 100 players here just wanting to play footy who would want to stop that and for why i ask im sure all other clubs in g6 would not care where easts train so who does and why are they so intent of stopping 100 players playing the greatest game of all bugger it lets all play wogball or gayfl is that what they want disgusting absolute disgusting

If you were to ring the NSWRL they would have to give you a bylaw number at least if it exists. Surely these bylaws must be available somewhere to the general public for all to read. |

this whole attack on easts is motivated by the jl to put the frighteners into the 3 wests clubs who approached nswrl last week to get them into g6 at all costs hence the media release to all wests jl clubs cc'd in on it
basically saying you play train out of boundary look what will happen and what we will impose on you once again grubby tactics shown and where is the best interest of the 100 players in all this i ask again

i just got forward a reply to the saction set to easts by my contact at titans read on with interests sorry BD,ITCHY but i think poeple need to hear your response and yes peps yobbo robbo has some contacts and knows alot about alot i have eyeas and ears everywhere and im always close on the money well most times anyway The Board of the Campbelltown Eagles RLFC acknowledges the decision of The Board of the New South Wales Rugby League. The Campbelltown Eagles RLFC will file an appeal to The Board with relation to any evidence presented that we were training and playing inside NSWRL boundaries. With respect to Andrew Ingram, Mr. Ingram has voluntarily resigned as Chairman of the club. Respected Life Member Mr. Glen Harding is now the Chairman of the Campbelltown Eagles. The Campbelltown Eagles RLFC is committed to an exciting future for its senior club in the strong and vibrant CRL Group 6 competition. Thus in this respect, we resolve to be nothing but ‘squeaky clean’ in order to retain our CRL affiliation. This decision has zero impact upon the East Campbelltown JRLFC and its administration of the U/6s- U/16s teams in the WSDJRL. Please direct any further enquiries to Campbelltown Eagles Development and Recruitment Director Mr. Daniel Draper on 0425 335 345. So who is your connections at Titans? I seen the original messgae was sent to a Titans official, did he send it directly to you or has everyone forward the original message to all Wests Junior Clubs, since our Media Release my phone has been a hot line, thanks to all clubs concern and showing support, greatly appreciated. We are in G6, happy to move on and as the Media Release stats, we will be Squeky Clean like we where in Canterbury and Bundy Cup competitions! |

Hooker Matt Jones best of a great Camden bunch BY SEAN CUNNINGHAM http://www.camdenadvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/hooker-matt-jones-best-of-a-great-camden-bunch/2132576.aspx CAMDEN have started their Group 6 first grade rugby league season in fine style with two wins from two games. Backing up from last week's win over Narellan, the Rams' latest triumph was a 18-10 victory over The Oaks.Tries to Seb Peterson, Mahn Darley and Chris Browne gave Camden the competition points in a game that was played in difficult conditions at Dudley Chesham Oval.Camden had a 12-6 advantage at the break. The boot of Browne, who kicked three goals, helped the Rams over the line.Camden's players' player award went to hooker Matt Jones.Rams' coach Mark De Ubago described the game as "extremely tough". "The Oaks are a big side and with the wet and slippery track, they were hard to handle," De Ubago said. "It was a game about possession and patience. But credit again to our pack, they were outsized but never stopped working, our backs matched them but it wasn't a backs game. "Our completion rate was 80 per cent and when considering the conditions, that was surprising, but we kept it simple and grounded it out." De Ubago noted the performance of front rower Chris Weaver, who was returning from injury and also from second rower Adam Fisher. Camden's next encounter will be on their home ground at Kirkham Park against Mittagong on Saturday at 7pm. "We hope to have a big crowd, so get on down and support the Rams," De Ubago said. In other Group 6 first grade games, Oakdale returned to their winning ways with a 18-6 victory over Mittagong. Picton beat Narellan 38-16 at Narellan Sportsground. Thirlmere/Tahmoor have yet to win this season following another defeat, this time going down 26-12 against Campbelltown Eagles. Campbelltown City Kangaroos beat last year's premiers Moss Vale 16-10. This week's other first grade games on Sunday at 2.30pm will feature Moss Vale at home to Oakdale. Picton take on The Oaks at Picton, Narellan host the Eagles and Thirlmere/Tahmoor are at home against the Kangaroos. Edited by disco stu, Apr 13 2011, 01:16 PM.
