Well done to Mittagong having another good game, Mittagong will be hard to stop at the end of the season, they have plenty of quallity in the 18's, that club is on the right track. the Reggies game was a thriller and we went down in the Under 18's, the group has done well with the 18's competition and no one has a favourites tag as yet, Edited by Blue Devil, May 8 2011, 09:36 PM.

Watched a couple of good games over the weekend. It was great to have a game on sat afternoon and is something that all clubs should consider throughout the season. The undefeated rams took on oakdale who were missing at least 3 regular players, which was to be their toughest test of the year. The match was fast and played at a good tempo for 80 mins, oakdale looked better and took a 12 to 0 lead at the break. The second half was tight, with both teams going try for try but the workers were always ahead and a field goal in the 79th minute put camden to bed. final score 25 to 18. A quality game of footy and as i said at beginning of year the rams big improvers this year.. Another gripe about the refeering, slightly better than last week, however still blowing penalties against the attacking team at crucial stages. unwarranted and potentially game changing decisions. Also went out to see the lions take on the eagles. A very tight first half and a real arm wrestle 12 to 6, ctown. Mittagong made more line breaks in the second half but could not finish them off and failed to build sufficient pressure, they also made some bad errors, which gifted ctown with territory and they ran away with the game 38 to 18. Mitta plenty to like about them, eagles missing hoare which was significant. |

Never been as proud of them yesterday!!! Played half a game with 12 players (2 sin bins and 1 sent for and AFL style fight No PUNCHES refs are cracking down) field goal in the final min was heartbreaking for the trip home!! Both sides threw eveything at each other Warragambas number 8 was outstanding the difference between the 2 teams IMO But there Young and gaining in confidence if we keep this squad for a few years Bowral will have some days in the son!!!! god knows how long thats been. Great game though!!! my head is shot from Bus trip home

Fiery grand final replay By LAUREN WRIGHT http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/fiery-grand-final-replay/2156776.aspx ![]() A fight erupts after a high tackle on Brett Cummins .Photo by Lauren Wright IT was the game Picton had been waiting for and they didn't wait to exact revenge for last year's Group 6 first grade grand final defeat. After a close loss last round, the Dragons continued their winless season against Picton yesterday, going down 30-16 at Moss Vale.In a match that was always going to be explosive, tensions boiled over in the second half, and a high shot on Brett Cummins led to him and another Picton player being sent from the field in the second half for fighting.Down 18-10, Moss Vale were in the match until the last 15 minutes when Picton stepped it up.A few quick tries to Picton secured victory for the Magpies. Moss Vale left the field shaking their heads and wondering what went wrong - again.Skipper Willie McDonald was lost for words, and could not pinpoint just where his team had lost the match. "I think the attitude at the start was down from last week so that makes it hard. Commitment was there, just a bit of enthusiasm wasn't. I just don't know what it is. It's not quite clicking at the moment," he said. "I guess it's back to the drawing boards and see where we can go from here. Despite the loss, McDonald said Robbie Noble had a good game, and Shane Martin and Shane Rofe both put in a good effort for the team. The next match will be about pride, and after five losses, McDonald is well aware that there season was now on the line. "We just didn't play very clever and as a team I don't think we played very well at all. Picton were a great side and they kind of shut us down pretty well but we didn't really adapt the way we should have," he said. Moss Vale will face Campbelltown Eagles next Sunday away and McDonald said the only thing for them to do was to keep on going. "[The] boys just got to keep their heads up and get to training and turn our season around," he said. |

Already looking forward to this week. Mittagong v Thirlmere. Thirlmere keep getting results, but there is a lot to like about Mittagong. I'll tip Mittagong at home led by Ryan Borg. Eagles v Moss Vale. Mossy will be desperate, and if the eagles trot out the same team as the weekend i'll give them every chance. Why were eagles down on troops? When is Hoare back? City v Camden. City couldn't beat cellar dwellars Narellan, and have conceeded 36 & 38 points in back to back weeks. But i'll tip them to give Camden back to back losses Narellan v The Oaks. Any chance of the oaks showing their potential? Picton v Oakdale. Both teams are 4 & 1. Oakdale will be quietly seething at having their pants pulled down last year in the finals. |

heard nothing hear, but nothing wrong with scrutinising our club, no doubt we are strong, wests jl made sure we have to be but we are very open about scrutinising, we have built well over a couple of years and now are reaping rewards, oaks unfortunately were their own worst enemy on the day, unfit and playing badly made us look the goods, they are a good club and hopefully saw the same things wrong we did and focus on them, we are well within points but thanks for asking footylover, good convo for your next committee meeting

Eagles unassailable in Group 6 competition Rugby League9 May 11 @ 05:03pm by VERA BERTOLA http://macarthur-chronicle-campbelltown.whereilive.com.au/sport/story/eagles-unassailable-in-group-6-competition/ ![]() CAMPBELLTOWN Eagles have taken the outright lead on the Country Rugby League Group 6 first-grade table as the only team undefeated after five rounds. The Eagles powered to a 38-18 win over Mittagong while Camden, who had been level-pegging them until this round, slipped back to fourth spot after going down 25-18 to Oakdale. The Lions took it up to the Eagles for most of the first half but a try to Campbelltown a minute before the break put them 10 points ahead and dashed Mittagong’s momentum going into the second term. The Eagles were the first to score and pushed their lead out to 22-6 before the Lions fought back to score a six-pointer and give themselves at least a fighting chance. But in the end the Eagles were too strong and raced away with a decisive win to make it five wins from five outings. Their reserve grade is also undefeated. Campbelltown Kangaroos had a cracker match against Narellan Jets with both teams unable to break the 38-38 deadlock. The Jets would be kicking themselves after squandering a 34-6 lead. The Roos charged back, converting their final try with two minutes on the clock to steal the draw. Picton and Moss Vale enjoyed a fiery 2010 grand final rematch with the Magpies getting the better of the defending champions 30-16. The Dragons were in the match until the last 15 minutes when Picton picked up a notch to consolidate third place on the competition ladder. In the final match of the round, Thirlmere were solid 46-30 winners of The Oaks. Best Local - Powered by Edited by disco stu, May 10 2011, 01:13 PM.
