I believe its the strongest they've had on the paddock so far this year, ben murchie& mick wortz are gone for the year and cummo suspended. I think they have another 2 to return yet. They've missed delamont around the rucks and scotty drewe is a great defender they will be handy to have back. Delamont and Hoare will be a good match up both quality hookers. I'm not going to call this one as i thought they were going to roll picton last week and they didnt. |

It was a fairly slow, ordinary game by both teams. |

Just got home from the Eagles V Mossy game and Mossy really stuck it to Eagles today. With minutes to go it still could have gone each way. Eagles suffered from more dropped ball in one day than I think the whole season so far and whether it was because of the pressure Mossy applied or other reasons I dont know. But Eagle's still unbeaten which is a credit to them to get away with a win with that many errors. All the best to the young Mossy bloke taken a way by ambulance with what I was told a huge facial gash |

Watched the Oakdale boys absolutely give it to Picton today. 48-6. Picton were just never in it. Oakdale ran out to 20-0 before Picton blinked, and to make matters worse, Bryce Poisel left the field after a decent hit with a Dislocated Shoulder. The workers led 30-0 at half time, and kept rolling in the second half. I think Picton scored with 10 minutes to go, but the workers had the last say scoring their 9th try. Ron Jones turned back the clock and was on fire. This sets up a huge top of the table clash with East Campbelltown next SATURDAY at Oakdale. I urge everyone to get there. 3.30pm kickoff for First Grade. |

I was also out at Picton today for the clubs old boys day. There were a lot of familiar faces from years gone by. The match was set up as a really good contest. Both teams on the same points, old boys day and the memory of a semi final shutout last year made for a juicy matchup. Halftime oakdale 30 picton 0. fulltime oakdale 48 picton 6. I havent seen a better 80 mins from a team in a long time as I saw today. Picton were at full strength in front of some past greats of the club and were blown off the park! I saw picton as real contenders this year so it will be interesting to see how they bounce back next game. I think the workers play easts next week at oakdale on a sat afternoon. Should be a massive game. |

Oparnz,yYou go to every Oakdale match, so don't try and pull the wool over our eyes by trying to imply you were at the Picton old boys day, as a picton supporter. You've been a missionary for the workers for years. Edited by tc6_11, May 16 2011, 09:02 AM.

Blues hold nerve in tight win http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/blues-hold-nerve-in-tight-win/2164102.aspx By Lauren Wright ![]() Sam O'Neil crashes into The Oaks defence. Photos by Lauren Wright AFTER they lost on the hooter last weekend, Bowral came close to another tight loss on Saturday.Only minutes from the final whistle, The Oaks Tigers staged a final comeback which had Bowral players and spectators alike in a state of anxiety. But when the final whistle was blown, Bowral emerged victorious with a 22-20 second division win.Coach Terry Fish said his team defended really well and were led by Barry Hines, Scott Bishop and Dale Knight. The Blues were down 12-6 going into the second half and it was always going to be a tight tussle. But a few tries in succession in the middle of the half set Bowral up well for a win. While The Oaks attempted to storm home late in the half and almost got there, the Blues hung on for their second win of the season.Fish said the problem for Bowral was their discipline and mental attitude. Bowral had a player sent off just before halftime and another sin binned and Fish said they needed to lower their penalty count. "Our biggest thing is our penalty count, our discipline. If we can stop the penalties we'll be a top three side but [I'm] happy with the win, the boys are training really well," he said. In Bowral's loss to Warragamba last weekend, they gave away 17 penalties to five.On Saturday, Fish said they had 12 players for 35 minutes and it was a credit to the team they hung on. "It's just our mental attitude. Pick up our attitude and we'll pick up a lot of wins in this competition," he said. Fish thanked the supporters who came down to watch the match and cheered the team home. This Sunday, Bowral will face the Spuds in Robertson in one of the biggest matches of the season. Both teams have struggled early in the season and will be looking for a few more wins to boost their hopes of finals contention. |
