is it true doggiegirl that your secretary asked all clubs to vote on letting a 40 point player play out the season with the reason being you guys are putting in a 1st grade next year and need him to pull in sponsors and attract players and all the clubs siad thats fine so the group agreed and said he can play out the year only you must field 1st grade in 2012 thats good news i hope we get some 40 point players next year and can build like you guys have and have a 1st grade also well done your club is on the up a strong appin in 1st grade is good for the group and gives an 11 team 1st grade next year

Yes you are right Doggies Girl, and I think they may have missed the boat, once Appin steps up and Dad reckons Warragamba's a shoe in to step up, I think they will be happy with a 12 team competition! Trust me what Dad knows Warragamba will be a force in 2012! |

It's easy to find out, investigate! Read the Wests Forum, read what clubs backed the JL to the hilt, and read which club has not commented lately, I think one of these clubs will have to get down on there knees to get in! I feel they will apply to Parra! |

Eagles to come from behind and get up by 4 Oakdale and Oaks....... always a brutal encounter Picton will have new recruit Nick Taylor playing, this will be the best out of the local derby's. I'll go Picton by 1. Camden to find that winning feeling again after 5 straight losses Mossy are now the under dogs against Mitta..... After winning the comp last year, weird competition. Mitta by 10 Who are city's 2 signings???? Edited by tc6_11, Jun 17 2011, 03:49 PM.

Great win by Oakdale yesterday, in what was a typically tough local derby. The Oaks have a great side on paper, and are a handful. Although the Oakdale boys have only put 1 good game together all year (Picton), so i think the best is yet to come. The match see-saw'd early, until Oakdale took the upper hand. The 1 punch rule is a bit of a bone of contention. I find it a little hard to swallow when a guy gets penalised for defending himself. Even though a player from each side was sent off, i think the instigator should wear the heavier penalty. Edited by tc6_11, Jun 20 2011, 07:00 AM.

Mittagong roar loudly as Dragons slain LAUREN WRIGHT http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/mittagong-roar-loudly-as-dragons-slain/2200479.aspx ![]() Ben Garard makes a break down the field. Photo by Lauren Wright It was scrappy, but in the end Mittagong took away bragging rights yesterday with a 26-12 first grade Group 6 victory over Moss Vale. Both teams put in an impressive effort and found the try line in the first half to go into the break locked at 6-6 at Mittagong. Mittagong scored again soon after the break to take a six-point lead, but the Dragons hit back soon after and it appeared the match would remain close. But the effort of keeping the Lions out took its toll on Moss Vale and their earlier enthusiasm wavered.Ball control and silly mistakes crept into the Dragons' game and Mittagong wasted no time capitalising. The Lions stormed home in the final 20 minutes to score 14 points and claim victory in the local derby. Lions skipper Ryan Powell said that despite the late surge home they were lucky to get away with the win. "It was sloppy I guess," he said. "A local derby can go that way; you can be more worried about who you're playing against as opposed to what you're actually doing." Moss Vale have so far failed to show the strength that won them the premiership last year, but Powell said they still managed to give the Lions a scare. "I was always confident of the win, but the way that Moss Vale played they made it tough for us," he said. Dan Drewe made a break down the sideline in the dying seconds of the match but was tackled by Ben Garard and fell just short of the line.Dragons skipper Willie McDonald said it was a disappointing loss, but was pleased they put up a fight against the Lions. "It's always disappointing to lose to Mittagong but we were in it at halftime, I thought we had the upper hand," he said, But once again it was the Dragons' poor discipline which let them down and cost them the match. "I think once again it's a few bad mistakes and lack of respect for possession and control of the ball," McDonald said. "It might have been a different story if we held on to the ball a bit more. You can't win a game of footy if you don't have the ball." The Dragons came close to the line several times in the second half, but were left flat in attack after their energy was sapped by the amount of defence they were forced to do. "We just wore ourselves out with too much defence," McDonald said. While the Dragons have been less than impressive so far this yer, McDonald said there were a number of positives to be taken from the game. "They [the team] all dug deep and went hard. Everyone played pretty well," he said. "The last two weeks we've shown a bit of heart and a bit of guts and we're actually starting to play some good footy in phases." McDonald said while things were looking down for the club at the moment they needed to keep persevering. "We've just got to hang in there. Times are tough at the moment but we can't just throw in the towel, we've got to keep trying and improving on the little things each week," he said. "It's not all doom and gloom." Both Powell and McDonald said they would now move on from yesterday's match and hopefully notch up a few more wins over the next couple of rounds. "If we can get back to having a bit of fun, hopefully we can win a few games and make it a bit easier," McDonald said. |
