The Oaks 28 def Picton 6
Picton looked premiership contenders drawing with the Eagles, Narellan last week, the oaks this week, what's going on! Shows Group 6 is very strong!
What's going on is Picton are in a terrible terrible slump. If we don't turn it around immediately Mittagong will embarress us on Sunday and we will be in dire straits!

I watched Narellan take on Eagles at Picton today, apart from the Eagles being on fire, there was action a plenty on the side lines, some lady gave her son a couple of upper cuts that seen the game stopped and her removed, low and behold, the women is a club secretary from Macarthur Saints, no wonder group 6 clubs do not want to associate with anything from the Wests Juniors, dont take offence Eagles and Roos, i see you guys as Group 6 clubs!

Big day at Oakdale.
Watched Div 2 18's first, with 1st place Warragamba giving it to their main title threats Mt Annan. If Warra couldn't be more than competitve in Div 1 there is something wrong, i think it is poor to have them in div 2.
Then Warra gave it to Mac Bulls in 3rd grade, the wheels really fell off the bulls, and i think that they have their work cut out to bounce back from the 48-6 drubbing they recieved
Watched Moss Vale beat Oakdale's reggies. For some reason Moss Vale played 6 first Graders in Reggies, including Martin, McDonald, and Champion.
Then Oakdale win First Grade 38-12. The game was tight in the first half and Mossy had 11 players from their GF winning side, so no more excuses for them.
Mossy had the bare 13 turn up for reserve grade hence those first graders backing up for regis. No one is offering excuses on mossys poor performance this year they are simply lacking confidence and self belief.

First graders playing reserve grade is good for the club, it shows that they are willing to put their hand up, or roll their sleeves up and do the dirty work.
Just in first grade though, the attitude seems poor, and it showed with the referee. The players got offside with him, and they didn't help themselves. They complained about every decision he made, and then the sideline just rubbed it even more.

Mossy played quite a few first graders in reggies last year, I remember about 5 playing in the hiding we copped last year. But honestly what's going on with them this season, last seasons premiers, team tipped to win it from the start, just an outright awesome team and now they have only won what is it one game?

Wheres Mick Robbo we'd be getting along great guns in my current state lol.

Please don't bag out the Wests clubs when some clubs are trying very hard to do well, and in all the games our club has played we have not had any crowd trouble, one dodgy send off and two idiots run off the bench but we play good clean hard footy which is instilled in us by our coaching staff.

Sorry Mr Spanky, no first grade players played reserves last year it was just the strength of last years playing roster that may have made it seem that way, hence may be the reason this years sides are not peforming as well as they did last year. Out of last years sides Moss Vale have lost around 15 players most of those out of reserve grade which has ultimately affected first grades depth.

Lions run rampant to roast Rams at den

IT was a slow start for the Lions, but they bounced back from a six-point deficit to win their first grade Group 6 match 42-10 against Camden at home yesterday. Mittagong lost both their back rowers Zak Blackshaw and Sebastian Sell in the first five minutes to knee injuries and skipper Ryan Powell said it was unlikely they would return for their next match.Camden took advantage of the Lions' misfortune and scored two quick tries to lead 10-0.Warwick Carter found the line for Mittagong but an unsuccessful conversion left the Lions down 10-4 at halftime.
It was a different side that walked out in the green and gold in the second half, stacking on 32 unanswered points.

Powell said he was disappointed with the slow start but was happy they bounced back after the break.

"We started out pretty poorly, [but] the best thing about starting poor and only going in six points behind is you're still in the game," he said.

"To play that poor and still be in it was pretty impressive."

Powell said it was their goal line defence which stopped Camden putting on more points but wanted better defence further down the field.

"We're letting teams get to our goal line too easy to make us defend. I really want to take the goal line defence and work on that, but we want to push that up the field so we're not defending our goal line so much," he said.

While Mittagong may be without Blackshaw and Sell for their next match against Picton, Powell said they would still field a competitive team.

"If we lose them two we just move on. We just play the best side we can put in each week so whatever side we have will be competitive," he said.

Powell said Carter, who scored two tries for the Lions was outstanding, as were Erin Blackshaw and Matt Thorpe.

"Warwick Carter was great for us. Erin Blackshaw played in the front row for 80 minutes, I don't know how he does it and Thorpey the young halfback he's an under-18 [player] but he's doing a great job in first grade, so I'm really impressed with those three."

Send-off proves costly

IT was one decision, but it cost Bowral Blues the match and it could very well have cost them their season. After Dom Pringle was sent off for a spear tackle, Bowral skipper Adam Sargood said a king hit from behind by one of Appin's players only earned him 10 minutes in the sin bin.

"It's just ridiculous," he said.

With only 12 men on the field Bowral were leading 22-16 before Appin's player returned and they came back late in the second grade match to win 26-22.Sargood said they did not dispute the send off of Pringle, but felt inconsistent calls cost them the match.

"He [Pringle] made a mistake and paid the penalty. Our season was on the line yesterday," he said.

"To cop that just sucks."

With only a handful of matches left in the season, Sargood said they would now have to win every game and hope results go their way.

"It's a huge ask," Sargood said.

Bowral had 15 players on Saturday out of their 26 on the books and Sargood said those who turned up to play were brilliant, with some carrying injuries.

"We gave them a real run for their money," he said.

Sargood said if the Blues maintained the attitude they had yesterday, they could win the remainder of their matches.

"The commitment hasn't been there," he said,

Bowral will now face Campbelltown Kangaroos this Sunday at home and Sargood said it was a must win match.

"We have to win. We have to turn up next weekend and win. Yesterday's efforts were all for nothing if we don't turn it into points over the next few weeks," he said.

Sargood said Danny Wright had a outstanding game and Tyran Moran played his best game of the season for the club this year.

In the other Highlands second grade match, Robertson got up over The Oaks 14-12.

 also enjoyed the victory today over macbulls withOUT the 40 point player ohh yeah even sweeter see u boys at the business end of the year
scared you hey we lead for 60 minutes fitness and the 14th man with the whistle let us down :correct: no excuses will work on it and be better for it  16-3 penalty count against us was always going to hurt and the scores shows - 2 late trys to appin in the last 5 minutes sealed it for them when we where down to 11 men.
is it true the ref is a former appin player? 16-3 penalty count :finger: must say the referee standard is concerning 3 sin bins and a send off for minor discrections the guy lost all control hopefully the standard gets better.
great crowd they really got into it loved it
Actually the ref in speaking actually played camden reserve grade last year and has never had anything to do with playing for appin....
Appin player in 2008 - Camden reggies last year :correct: he has had bulls v Appin games twice this year penalty counts 26-4 and 19-3 against Bulls - not saying all not warranted but doesnt look good and adds speculation.
I guess you better bring that point up at the meeting next tuesday night im sure the group will instruct allan foster not have that referee ref for appin Im with you all the way...we cant have refs cheating now...

Appin gives back what the Campbelltown clubs dish out, why are clubs so intimidated by Appin???
Next year will be back to a combined comp sorry a comp with all teams from both comps and a executive officer to run it, its what arl nrl crl want, the position has been advertised and Im sure will be discussed at the next meeting on 14 July and yes I hear JL will be applying for the job I also heard a Eagles member will be running for it as well..I suppose we will hear all about it soon.
