gee is it just me or a bit of bad disipline follows the appin team?
? have had one player suspended this yr for 1 week and very little trouble throughout the previous 3 years. sure there are other clubs with much worse records than that
Appin should move into the weste comp! by the sounds of the way they play and the amount wigning they do, i dont think they would'n be out of place! :correct:
Good to see bowral give em a run for there money tho!
Appin gives back what the Campbelltown clubs dish out, why are clubs so intimidated by Appin???
Next year will be back to a combined comp sorry a comp with all teams from both comps and a executive officer to run it, its what arl nrl crl want, the position has been advertised and Im sure will be discussed at the next meeting on 14 July and yes I hear JL will be applying for the job I also heard a Eagles member will be running for it as well..I suppose we will hear all about it soon.
You sound like you support a combined comp, when clubs voted wasn't it unanimously voted by Group 6 clubs as NO! and who is the JL person running for the job and who is the Eagles person, I did hear something about that itchy fellah getting offered a job,
I support group 6 but I think the executive want more teams there..Jl is Julie Luke and dont know who from eagles only heard someone from their club..Im only telling you what I heard it does not mean its gospel..only time will tell
So the lady in question is wanting to leave her job in the JL to apply to be the Group 6 excecutive, wow thats big news if she wants to jump ship :winner: thats the rumor of the year :winner: you shore you heard it correct, cant see her applying and leaving the JL for Group 6
Word we got is the excecutive job was designed to stamp out the combined comp and have Group 6 keep the comp as it is now :correct: cant fix what isn't broken
rumour has it
hey fencey, i would appreciate if you didnt relay what you have or havent heard about myself pls mate, if i had been offered, i wouldnt want this to jepoardise it, thx mate

Great for Picton to get a good win up against Mittagong. Even if it was a bit scrappy. We really needed that to turn our season around and get back on track. It was really good to see that we can get a gritty win, based on defence, against a quality team.
Feel free to check out the match review from the Picton website here:

I just put this weeks Hi Lights up of Eagles V The Oaks.
Not as good as last weeks as this game had many errors, the wind was strong and the whistle was going off like the Keystone Cops. I will try and do this each week, but it is very time consuming to do.

Your not wrong Mav every week that paticular ref blows penalties all day just let them play. A sin bin for a push when he played the ball is a little steep. Let them play mate!

League finals near Camden hold outside chance

BY SEAN CUNNINGHAM

http://www.camdenadvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/league-finals-near-camden-hold-outside-chance/2224840.aspx

OUR two local Group 6 rugby league first grade teams are unlikely to reach the play-offs this season.
Narellan are out of the race to reach the finals but Camden remain a slim chance of reaching a finals berth.

It took Narellan until Sunday's round 13 clash against Thirlmere/Tahmoor to produce their first victory of the season.

Creating their best performance of the season, the Jets won 17-16 in a thriller.

Narellan's only other competition point came in round 5 with a 38-38 draw against Campbelltown City Kangaroos.

Camden started the season on fire with four consecutive wins then slumped to five losses in a row.

The Rams returned to their winning ways in the local derby clash against Narellan with a 42-6 win in round 10.

But a return to inconsistent form has witnessed the Rams slip to just out of reach of a finals place, in sixth position on the ladder.

Their latest display was a 30-18 loss against Moss Vale on Sunday.

Camden coach Mark De Ubago had hope of his team overcoming a 14-6 deficit at the break when the Rams scored early in the second half.

But a dislocated finger to Adam Marshall saw him leave the field in the 50th minute.

Matt Jones scored two tries while Ben Weir scored Camden's other try.

Camden can still make a play-off appearance but it looks unlikely with a run-in of five games against some league heavyweights.

"We've lost a few through injury and it will be tough to reach the finals," De Ubago said.

"We're going to have to win every game to make it and we play everyone above us, I think.

"We're still a mathematical chance but we're playing against teams that'll be jockeying for position in the top five."

Camden's run-in includes games against Oakdale, Campbelltown City Kangaroos, Picton, Campbelltown Eagles and Thirlmere/Tahmoor. Narellan, one point behind Moss Vale in bottom place on the ladder, will be in a fight with the Dragons to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon.

The Jets' final five games includes games against Campbelltown City Kangaroos, The Oaks, Mittagong, crunch game against Moss Vale and finally Oakdale.

In other first grade games on Sunday, Oakdale beat Campbelltown City Kangaroos 18-16, Campbelltown Eagles beat The Oaks 34-20 and Picton beat Mittagong 14-10.

Group 6 Rugby League between Oakdale and Campbelltown City Kangaroos

CAMPBELLTOWN Eagles continue to dominate the Country Rugby League Group 6 competition with their 11th win of the season on Sunday.

The Eagles downed The Oaks 34-20 to consolidate their top of the table position, a spot they’ve held on to all season.

While the Eagles are coasting, city cousins Campbelltown City Kangaroos are facing the prospect of needing to win all their remaining five games to make the play-offs.

City put themselves under pressure with a tight 18-16 loss to an under-strength Oakdale on the weekend.

A spokesman put the run-up to the finals into perspective.

“With five rounds to play, City are now counting on results to go their way and must win all five fixtures starting with Narellan this Sunday,” he said.

Reserve grade 2010 premiers, the Kangaroos crushed Oakdale 60-8 to galvanise their spot in the top five and keep on track with preparation to defend their title.

In other first grade results: Moss Vale d Camden 30-18, Narellan d Thirlmere/Tahmoor 17-16 and Picton d Mittagong 14-10.

Mittagong and Moss Vale Rugby League clubs are part of the Good Sports program.

A number of clubs have recently joined the Good Sports program. The program was an initiative of the Australian Drug Federation and aims to help sporting clubs manage alcohol responsibly. It involves a three level accreditation which teaches sporting clubs how to serve and consume alcohol responsibly.

Mittagong Rugby League Club, Bowral Rugby League Club, Moss Vale Soccer Club, Robertson-Burrawang Soccer Club, Bundanoon Soccer Club, Bundanoon Cricket Club and Bowral Blacks Rugby Union have all signed up to level one.

Level one involves a liquor licence, RSA training and a smoke free zone.

Bowral Cricket Club and Moss Vale Dragons, who were already involved in the program, moved up to level two which involves maintenance of level one criteria, enhanced bar management, non-alcoholic food and beverage options and a safe transport policy.

Over 2900 clubs throughout NSW are now involved with the program.

WHILE first grade celebrated a rare victory Moss Vale reseves and under-18s left Community Oval on Sunday with their tail between their legs. The under-18s were beaten 64-7 by Camden in a disappointing performance.Going into the match, the difficult season took its toll and Camden ran riot to lead by 40 at halftime.

The boys pulled themselves together in the second half but it was too late. The only consolation was a try and field goal by Ryan Knight but even that did little to lift the team's spirits.

In the reserves, Moss Vale got off to a good start and held their defensive line well. While Camden opened the scoring, Aaron de Jager hit back for Moss Vale Dragons with a try to level the scores at 6-6.Matt Burke and St Fairbairn both scored for the Dragons to lead 16-6 before Camden hit back to trail 16-12.Brad Maloney scored right on halftime and Moss Vale went into the halftime break 20-12 ahead.
The Rams came back from the break rejuvinated and controlled the ball for the first 20 minutes and were able to score at will. They ran out winners 34-20 by the final whistle and left the Dragons stunned.

First grade had better luck and opened the scoring through Dan Drewe. While Camden hit back, Moss vale held on to lead 16-6 at the break. From then on the Dragons were unstoppable and piled on the points to finish with a decisive 30-18 victory.

Ditton takes charge in Spuds' win

ROBERTSON Spuds continued their good run into the semis with a 28-12 victory over Macarthur Bulls on Sunday.
Arron Ditton kicked well with three conversions and it was Dave Canterbury who opened the scoring for the Spuds.
With an 18-6 lead at halftime, Robertson were always in control of the match, despite some late points scored by the Bulls. It got to 22-18 in the second half before Matt Rolles dived over to seal the victory.

Coach Craig Pemberton said he was extremely pleased with the win.

"Very happy, everything's going to plan," he said.

Pemberton has always been confident Robertson would be in the mix for semi-finals and with a win over the Bulls who have been strong all year, his confidence in the side has been well founded. He said he was pleased with their ability to maintain pressure throughout the match and the Spud's defence which had improved throughout the season.

"Their playing for each other. We need to keep going as we are," he said.

Now heading into the back end of the season, Pemberton said he wanted the Spuds to maintain their form and continue to work on the basics such as defence and ball control.

He said Arron Ditton was developing well at halfback and James Oliver who also scored a try had a good game.

"He's [Ditton] starting to read the game a lot better and taking the defence on. James Oliver did well yesterday, his attacking game is coming along fine," he said.

Pemberton once again thanked the junior canteen staff for their support.Robertson now sit fourth on the ladder and look set to make a finals appearance this year.

Picton 'Pies punish Lions

LAUREN WRIGHT

http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/picton-pies-punish-lions/2225207.aspx

MITTAGONG Lions came down from their high after they lost 14-10 to Picton in their first grade Group 6 match on Sunday.Lions' skipper Ryan Powell said after weeks of winning, the team was flat.

"We've been up on a high for so long. We were really flat and the desperation and will to win wasn't there," he said.

Mittagong touched the ball 10 times in the second half and Powell said they only completed five of those sets. With only a 50 per cent completion rate, Powell said it was a poor game for the Lions but one they needed to have to keep them on their toes.

The Lions were also without a few key players.Zak Blakshaw may be out for the rest of the season with what appears to be a medial knee injury and Seb Sell played only half a game with a build up of fluid in his knees forcing him to the sideline. At one stage they were down to 12 men after Justin Madden was sin binned after an offside penalty went against him.But Powell said it was a small victory of sorts to have only gone down by four points.

"The individual effort was there, it just wasn't a team game," he said.

"Our enthusiasm needs to be there. We need to get that hunger back to win games."

First Grade Ladder

1. Campbelltown Eagles 23

2. Oakdale 21

3. Picton 18

4. Mittagong 15

5. Thirlmere/Tahmoor 15

6. Camden 12

7. The Oaks 10
