The balconey on the clubhouse gives it great atmosphere when its full of one eyed mossy supporters , no different on the weekend.I remember one call when an easts player kicked for a 40/20 only for the ball to hit the corner post but amazingly a scrum feed to the eagles, and it happened at the clubhouse end, well you can imagine the supporters burring up As for the send offs i couldnt tell what both players were sent either as i was on the hill watching the game ,hard to pick up from a distance, and the refs whistle blew constantly thru out the day going each way. Champion got sent mid way thru the first half whilst the eagles front rower was sent early in the 2nd half. Mossy also bombed at least 3 trys when the score was 20-18 in the eagles favour but each time the last pass was forward or dropped over the line but dan drewe scored a brilliant solo effort to seal the win with minutes to spare. |

Would be a great idea for G6 to take on the role doing a match of the round hi-lights or an around the grounds hi-lights each week. All you need is a HD video camera and tripod (the software usually comes with the camera) (I use Sony but there are plenty of good brands around ) a PC and open a utube account (which is free) and you can upload up to 15 minutes of footage per upload. Takes a long time to upload (usually overnight) then just copy and paste the link to the forum or G6 website the next day and walah done. You can even upload a whole game in 15 minute blocks. I dont think anyone else does this that I know of (bar Oakdale) but, the coverage is worldwide and a great endorsement for the game. I think the heckling would then stop as the footage would be shared around the teams. Even if other teams started putting their own up each week It would it would add to the strength of the competition. P.S Honorarium sounds good but cash only please.

Hey Maverick don't stop the vid's they are great, don't let a bit of sledging and on field banter get to your boy. My son has played in group six for twenty odd years as a junior and senior and has given as good as he gets its part of the game and adds a bit of spice and rivalry and it should always stays on the field as I believe it has. And it would be great if a few more could do it ,as I am sure the members would like to watch good footy highlights especially some of the great tries as well as hits that the teams produce week after week. |

Thanks for the compliment We have a great group of voluteers, sponsors, players and officials, everyone pitches in to help out. and considering what our club has had to endure to get where we are. I take my hate off to everyone involved. Wether we win premierships or not WE ARE WINNERS!

got to agree BD - The inclusion of the Eagles and Roos have enhanced the 1st grade competition to a new level especially the Eagles sitting where they are on the ladder, Group 6 always was a great comp and now its gone to another level with the eveness of the 1st grade comp is fantastic and both Eagles and Roos clubs are both in the right competiton to cater thier senior club needs. Under adversity of certain deterers and sanctions imposed on both, The clubs have done well in 2011 regardless of where they finish you would find both are happy just playing where they are Even our boys in the 3 rd tier comp are getting what they wanted in footy each week of a socail standard and a few beers after the 2nd div comp is a great idea and allows players not wanting to train to hard or with work committements access to a comp that allows them to still play footy its been a huge success i believe and the addition of hopefully 2 new clubs is great news BTW - looking forward to Eagles and Workers clash this Sunday - what a cracker that will be

Dragons far from done BEN MCCLELLAN http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/dragons-far-from-done/2246724.aspx ![]() Dan Drewe regathering his kick as he heads for the tryline. MOSS VALE'S final chances may be dead and buried but the Dragons are not going to finish their disastrous 2011 season quietly.Moss Vale put in their best appearance of the season in round 15 to topple Group 6 first grade leaders Campbelltown Eagles 24-20 at Community Oval on Sunday.A piece of individual brilliance from Dan Drewe in the last minute had him chipping infield and beating most of the Eagles defence to score under the posts and snatch Moss Vale's fourth win of the season.A hat-trick to centre Tim Small kept the Dragons in the game as the score see-sawed for the full 80 minutes. Campbelltown started badly, kicking out on the full, which put Moss Vale on the attack early. Shane Martin put Small through a gap but Campbelltown scored to level it up at 4-4. The Eagles then received penalty, on top of penalty, to march up the field and take the lead 10-4. Moss Vale hooker Steve Fairbairn was playing well and another backline move resulted in Damian Barton score to make it 10-10. Josh Champion got sent off but Moss Vale rallied as Small bagged his second to make it 14-10.The Eagles then had a glut of possession, through cheap penalties, and levelled the score at 14-14 at halftime. The second half started with a hard slog, and the ball changing hands, and going from end to end for the first 20 minutes. However, Campbelltown broke the deadlock to lead 20-14. The Dragons held OFF several Eagles and Small got his third, but Andrew Jamieson missed the conversion, to make it 20-18.Jamieson quickly made up for his miss by drawing several defenders out wide before passing to Drewe, who kicked ahead, took the ball over an Eagles' wingers head, to score under the posts. The crowd on the balcony erupted as the defending premiers showed why they were the 2010 champions. The reserves went down 30-10 with Kurt Dietz and Josh Hall scoring. The under-18s also lost 28-14. Blake Parker and Kevin Hill were among the scorers. Moss Vale play Thirlmere, Narellan and The Oaks in their last three games. |

Camden keep G6 hopes alive with great narrow win BY SEAN CUNNINGHAM http://www.camdenadvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/camden-keep-g6-hopes-alive-with-great-narrow-win/2246638.aspx ![]() Ouch: Camden (right) put on strong tackles during their 28-26 win over Campbelltown City Kangaroos players during their Group 6 first grade rugby league clash on Sunday. Picture: Sean Cunningham CAMDEN is clinging on to a slim hope of reaching the Group 6 rugby league first grade play-offs after their 28-26 victory over Campbelltown City Kangaroos on Sunday. Despite missing several regular players, Camden kept their chances alive with a determined display at Onslow Oval. Rams' coach Mark De Ubago said the team would stay positive as long as there was a mathematical chance of his players taking part in the finals. "We still have a glimmer of hope to make semis," he said. "We are sitting in sixth place, one point behind Mittagong. "It was a must-win game to keep in the hunt. "It was particularly pleasing when we had players out through injury and prior arrangements. "But the players who stepped up did the club proud. "In particular Patrick Hutchinson, who made his debut. I know he was nervous but he was good on the day. "Dean Britt and Cameron Meani backed up from the 18s and were great, particularly Dean Britt, who scored another try and helped set up a second. He is ready for bigger and better things." Pat Purcell also backed up and played half a game in reserves and a full first grade game, scoring a try in the process. De Ubago praised Ben Weir, Matt Jones and Tyron Hadfield. "Our halves were good on the day their defence was great," he said. "We still have a lot to work on, with five players back this week, we will be keeping it simple. "But a win against Picton gets us in the top five." |

Lions just miss out http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/lions-just-miss-out/2246722.aspx By Ben McClellan MITTAGONG'S first and reserve graders both narrowly lost to the Roosters at Thirlmere on Sunday. The firsts now sit fifth after losing 32-30, while the reserves are second after going down 18-16. The under-18s were the only Lions to taste success 32-18 to remain undefeated four points clear at the top.The first grade Lions fought back twice during the game from 16-6 down to draw level 16-16 at halftime and then from 32-20 to almost winning the game in the dying stages. Mittagong skipper Ryan Powell missed a sideline conversion to square things up after Justin Madden scored his second try. Erin Blackshaw also scored twice, Mark Williams once, while Corey Martin kicked two goals and Powell one. Powell said the team did well when Cameron Madden was sin binned midway through the second half for talking back to the referee. He said the Lions needed to be wary of the cellar dwelling Jets at Narellan this Sunday and Mittagong had to win their remaining three games to secure a finals berth. Young halfback Matt Thorpe was singled out by Powell for having his most dominant game this season, while five-eighth Ryan Borg also played well. In other first grade games, Oakdale beat Picton 26-24, Camden edged out Campbelltown City Roos 28-26 and Narellan beat The Oaks 38-24. This Sunday Moss Vale host Thirlmere. Meanwhile, Macarthur beat Bowral 30-18 in third grade, while Warragamba walloped Robertson 40-6 in third grade and 62-1 in the under-18 second division match.
