This is exactly why I can't wait to see the Eagles play in Group 6, I love the game and I would love to play for the Eagles in there 50th Anniversary season, having 3 Grades give players more opportunities playing the game, at the level that suits them, the last year I Captain/Coached the Eagles in the West A Grade seen me knocked out twice, eye gauged on a number of occasions, almost in a fight even before a ball was kicked off, playing on perthetic surfaces, and having all the same teams at the same ground every week which becomes boring for spectators and players! Having 1 Grade in the West Comp, has players retireing at an earlier age to what they want to, or young inexperiance players looking to go else where because they don't want to get belted by sides that get suited to an unlimited 7 man interchange that is played like grid iron! Group 6 offers players to play in 3 Grades, from players that want a bit of mateship and fun, to players that want to make a bit of spending money on there trip away at the end off the year. I played for Picton and then 2 seasons with the Oaks, I have played at least 10 years at Wests A Grade but realize nothing will change in this area! I have been around as a player, coach, official and spectator, and know what's best for the future of our club and it's players, I'm looking at getting my fitness up to scratch and if the body goes ok I will give it a go, as long as I get no suspensions for talking at the pub I should be OK Edited by Blue Devil, Jan 16 2011, 09:47 PM.

I have seen Sherwin out in Camden before Christmas talking with all the Camden boys as he does live in the area. I couldn't see him going all the way to Canberra for a game when he could get the a decent wicket staying where he lives. Stranger things have happened though. |

Just saw an old newspaper report on a player move. Ryan Powell - Thirroul to Mittagong - Captain / Coach. Not sure if this is still current or if he has bought any players with him, as Robbie Mears did when he was down there for his pre-season stint years ago. |

Might have to trek down to check it out as unfortunately over the past 5+ years it would not have been worth it. |

Another great turnout at the Eagles Training tonight, a new signing that will surely upset a west club, sorry guys he wants to play Group 6, over 65 players and with some locals still to return things are looking great! Our club also recieved some very good news today that I will inform the forum/local media when we have everything on paper, our club is getting excited and again I can't thank Group 6 clubs and officials for making us welcome! |

Bowral had a very decent turn up tonige a few surpirses in talent that turned up but very pleasing as well as a Major sponsor. Also looks like the Nines pre season will be at Bowral that should stick it up GAYFL. |

Dragons fire up for 2011 http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/dragons-fire-up-for-2011/2051422.aspx ![]() MOSS Vale Dragons' first grade side are seeking to take home title glory again this year after re-signing most of the players from last year's premiership winning team.Willie Macdonald will lead the team again as captain-coach and new president Greg Maloney said they were looking for him to lead up in the forwards. He also highlighted Scott and Daniel Drewe, as well as Damian Barton and Shane Rofe as key players for the Dragons up front. The Dragons have also re-signed Shane Martin, Elliot Esquilant, Mark Delamont, Josh Champion, Robbie Noble and Tim Small.Maloney said Delamont and Small, who both suffered injuries at grand final time last year, are fit and ready to go this year. Many of the Dragons have already started their pre-season training, far ahead of any of their other club members. While they are still on a high from last year's premiership win, there are a few players who will not line up for the Dragons this year. Rhys Lenarduzzi and Jesse Micallef have left for Sydney, and Ben Lips has retired. Maloney said they believe Delamont, Champion and Small will have an impressive season, but also hopes the team can perform well also. Josh Saunders, who is currently overseas, will most likely rejoin his teammates in April or May this year when he returns to Australia. Maloney said the Dragons' training has been good so far, and the team is keen to get into this year's footy season. "They are taking defending the title very seriously," he said. He said the boys have a terrific attitude going into this year's season and were enthusiastically looking forward to it. The Dragons also have two new sponsors in the Central Hotel and Southern Highlands Toyota. Training for the Dragons begins on Friday at 6pm, and Maloney said there was an open invitation for any players to come along. |

Have you seen our ground of late?? The 4 sticks facing upwards is our main threat and yes the Yuppies and old people post a major problem as alot of ex players have moved on or start there own familys in Moss vale or mitta as Bowral is to expensive so there kids end up playing jnrs there which stops the cycle of talent coming through. But the club is 3 times stronger than it was in 2008 so things are on the up! Edited by Highlander, Jan 21 2011, 10:54 AM.
