Can anyone shed any light on this comp? When will they play? Who are the sides to beat?

i think a lot of the west junior comps are going to suffer this year as wests have put so much effort into there a grade comp & there fight against city and easts

Top 3 teams from last year are goneskys :hey: :hey: :hey: Collies/Mac Fields/Easts and add to that City taking 2 teams to Group 6 doesnt leave alot  - can anyone shed some light who is fielding what? these kids are the seniors future if the wests A grade is to take off you need a viable 18's comp :correct:

Interesting.
Was speaking to a couple of my nephews mates who play for ESA. He said that they lost the gf last year but most of the side were playing a year up. Most of those guys would be playing in that age group again and apparently they have 4 sg ball players aswell. You would think they would be hard to beat???

Forgot about ESA - always strong in 18's and if they have what you say its all over might as well give it to them now :winner: no other 18's would compete against them :worship:

ESA were a good side last year and if the above statements are correct and they have a heap backing up, they should be the class of the comp.

RSL will be fielding an U/18's as well this year, they have a squad of around 20-25 and have been getting good numbers to training. They have also been looking good at training, and look to be geling well together. In their first hit out of the year in a trial they played on Saturday, they looked really good, losing by a try, due to giving away a few silly penalties to leap frog the opposition up the field.

League gets clean bill of health in Macarthur area
Rugby League8 Mar 11 @ 10:42am by VERA BERTOLA
ON the eve of the 2011 rugby league season in the Macarthur area, the game’s administrators have given the game a clean bill of health.

The sport was rocked at the end of last season with the breakdown of the combined competition between Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League and CRL Group 6.

It was thrown into further disarray when Wests clubs East Campbelltown and Campbelltown City Kangaroos applied for Group 6 affiliation. A new club, Campbelltown Bulls, has also applied to play with Group 6.

On a representative level, Western Suburbs Magpies NSW Cup team has been stripped of its NRL contracted players with Wests Tigers opting to play them with Balmain.

Wests chairman Wayne Hardy-Smith said Wests would offer a “strong and vibrant senior competition”.

He said the season started on March 27 and would include six first-grade, six second-grade and 10 under-18s teams.

He emphasised Wests had no issue with the three Campbelltown clubs playing with Group 6 but were duty-bound to comply with regulations on playing and training within their competition boundary and have correct insurance coverage.

Can someone post who the 10 team 18's will compromise off please :correct:

ESA will be hard to beat and with 4 Rep players still to come back very strong

have we hear if they are running a single or two tiered comp as yet with the comp only a week and a bit away thought we would have heard by now

This is my first time posting on here but I have to say It's sad that the 18's comp has come to this, we had some really competitive teams in 16's 1st division last year and with City and East going to G6, this has taken the major competition out of it for ESA, after watching them play in the 9's and trial against RSL they will be the dominating team this season even without their SG players. The last thing the boys want to do is go out and win each week without earning it: letmesee:

Is there any U/18 results out there ? I'm hoping that people interested in the Wests senior comps do not have to rely on the grapevine to get results mid week or later. I think efficient result postings on this forum or anywhere would be a positive thing. Maybe I'm wrong !
