Dad know the story on this one, apparently this player suffered a serious injury Pre Season, he didn't put sunscreen on and suffered Sun Burn Lips, nose and his forehead had pealed that put him out for 6 weeks, he took the field 4 weeks ago at Milton Park and for safety reasons he wore a base ball cap, there where players in the same spirit and ready for the beach taking the field in board shorts, yeh they take there footy serious around here!

Fencey, if your a ref are you a part of an association? If you are did you know its against the associations constitution to publicly comment on your local competition. We had a ref on this forum before and had to refrain from commenting because of this . Did your dad tell you that? If you are a member of an refs association I'd be very careful about what you say. It's OK Stu, I have my refs ticket but I'm not with an association, got my ticket through a school program, I'm good friends with the Ref you are talking about, but what we get a whistle but not a voice, sounds like the committee members under the JL

Dad found out, the 18 year old from ESA has received a year suspension while the other player awaits criminal charges, I think 1 year is sufficient for a verbal threat! |

Yes the ESA player got 12mths for verbal abuse and it was our under 20's player, well he now has 12mths to think about how stupid actions can have an effect on a promising future. The other players involved were not from our club. |

So this is what Sunday football has become. Changing our time from 10am to a 9am game at Hillier against Minto's 18's... why we were not given a later time? because they needed to accomodate Minto and Port Kembla's Womens teams. Am I wrong but are they even in the west comp....Then after paying our gate fees to get in and waiting around for an hour for Minto to show they have a couple of players show up.....I understand that there are reasons and problems that can arise that stop players from turning up but this was a joke... Minto made it quiet clear at the seniors meeting they would not play us, well thats fine but let us know officially a bit earlier....at no time did an official come over and let us know what was happening and no offer was made to return any gate fees that were paid to get in..... Can someone please tell me what the fine is for forfeiting so late and can they be fined because they had made it clear they would not play us at the seniors meeting but did not forfeit before today.... Maybe the forum is not the place for me to be whinging about this, but those in power wonder why our boys are pissed off and are walking out of the west comp......they pay their regos', and then have to go weeks without playing footy. And now I have just received word that all games at Wood Park have been called off due to the cricket pitch......why was this not fixed by council when we had a 13 year old break his arm over a month ago on the same pitch???? How do we answer to our players when they want to know why they dont get to play week after week ????????? |

A GRADE: ALL SAINTS 24 TITANS 22 Tries: Warren Hall 2, Daniel Todd, George Papura, Mick Rauth. Goals: Carlos Hafed 2. Round 9 of the Western Suburbs Junior Rugby League A grade competition witnessed a clash of the Liverpool clubs with All Saints Liverpool defeating Liverpool Titans 24-22 in a nail biter at Hillier Oval, Liverpool. All Saints began well but poor ball control saw try scoring opportunities lost. Titans steadied and posted first points when a well judged kicked bounced between Saints defenders and Titans regathered to score 6-0. Saints had a player dismissed from the field. The 12 man Saints were still in disarray when Titans added their second try to lead 10-0. Just prior to the halftime break Saints regrouped and posted the try of the match when lock Warren “The Pirate” Hall finished off a great backline movement to score 10-4. Upon resumption Saints were full of running and levelled the scores when Hall added his second, winger Carlos Hafed converted 10-10. Saints were on a roll and were rewarded when centre Daniel “Sweeney” Todd busted several tackles to score 14-10. Saints forwards Bevan Salter, Henry Swann and Ahsam Galuvao was causing havic with the Titans defence before hooker Gorgeous George Papura extended the lead when he raced 30 metres to score and with the Hafed conversion Saints lead 20-10. Titans refused to die and hit back with a converted try 20-16. Saints regathered their strength and pulled further ahead when dynamic centre Mick “The Bod” Rauth crashed over to score 24-16. With 5 minutes remaining on the clock Titans scored under the posts 24-22. Titans regained possession and made one last launch for victory but solid Saints defence ensured the green and golds held on for a well deserved victory. In other A grade results Minto 48 defeated Warriors 14, ESA v Bulldogs deferred. Congratulations to the All Saints boys playing with only 12 men and beating the more fancied Titans. Only Minto to beat and they will have had a win against all sides in the comp. |

All Saints the dark horses, timing there run to perfection- masterful coaching by Fry and Harvey. ![]() Looks anyone's comp at this stage- ESA, Titans, Minto or All Saints could all do it on the day. Great to see the Wests A Grade & Reserve Grade back stronger than ever.
