Had a look at Minto V ESA, at Eschol park, I am right about Minto, they gave it to ESA and will be hard to beat, thats the dissapointing thing about this comp, everyone qualifies but the true champion team will not get recognised. Minto registering a massive experiance team that dont show up all year and until the semis or two weeks prior, they are going to give it to the Titans and All saints that deserve to win the Premiership. They are a huge team and bloody hit hard. Minto for the 2011 Premiers and my club for Group 6 for 2012, I will tell all about my club at competition finish, dont want to jeopardise any of my teams in semis for this year |

What's the go Warrior 78, your warriors are terrible, when was the last time they won a comp game? Dad did say Tigers players refused to play in Wests A Grade and headed over to UTS Tigers, and the rest Wests Magpies Premier League, will you field a senior side in Wests next year, looks like it's been a hard task losing in Reserve Grade and now getting hammered each week in A Grade, interesting to see how many teams back up for next year! And what plans will Tigers have with excess players, it's been a massive mistake and I wonder with the performances of the N20's team was due to player excess not getting good hard footy week in week out! Can you give us a clue on nextyear Fatcat? |

I've seen a fair bit of both comps miss Baxter and I can honestly say as much as this comp has done well to hold together, the best here would be lucky to make bottom 3 in g6, that's not a criticism just and observant opinion, there seems to be a single minded approach here to bash the competition out of the game whereas in the other comp they play skilled disciplined football. |

So what are people's predictions for the first week of semi's? Reserves: INGLEBURN RSL v ESA ESA, but if RSL show up to play it'll be close Reserves: LCC v MINTO LCC should get up here, even after losing to Minto earlier in the year A Grade: WARRIORS v ESA This is tricky, like Minto I suspect Warriors will be all hands on deck for semi's, but I still think ESA will take it out A Grade: ALL SAINTS v MINTO I'm calling an All Saints upset - too fit, too discliplined. Unfortuantely I think the referee may play a big part in this one |

Same, I would like to know what you meant by that comment. 99% chance it will be Matt Middleton and I rate him the best that West's have and better than anybody G6 have. And I also think All Saints will win, but only if they dont try to take on Minto up the middle as Minto seem to have brought the giants out of the woodwork. Whats the go over there? They start the season strong, go missing for most of the season and come semi's there all back playing good footy. Edited by Maverick, Aug 16 2011, 02:44 PM.

Back from my time on the bench , here's my tips for this weekend's semis:Reserves: INGLEBURN RSL v ESA RSL to have a bit too much class & youth on their side. Reserves: LCC v MINTO Minto too tough. A Grade: WARRIORS v ESA ESA in a canter, Warriors have really dropped their bundle. A Grade: ALL SAINTS v MINTO Minto to win by 2 in a top-class game of footy. Get there early on Sunday, will be a great day of Wests Juniors footy. Well done to Darcy and the Titans boys, what a fantastic achievement Minor Premiers in A Grade and Reserves.

The referee comment - from what I have seen from Minto's A Grade this year they have got intimidating the referee down to a science. Minto play good footy, and I think they should focus on that, but when things don't go their way - watch out. It will take a strong performance from the ref to handle the stupid stuff that creeps into the game. It also means All Saints will have to keep serious focus not to slip into ill disclipline. Not anything against Matt who I agree will have, and should have this game. (Now I'll wait for the Minto crew to come tear into me )

The number 1 ranked referee generally gets the elimination game. |

Its highly unlikely Middleton will get the minto all saints game. No1 ref is usually appointed to the elimination games. |

That would be right, blame Minto for intimidation, what Minto has copped this year has been very ordinary, some Minto Players I must admit are no angels but you have to have a look at clubs like Titans (Valley) nothing has changed except the jersey colours. Minto plays tough and rough but it takes two to tango. comments regarding the refeeree on this forum, and you all know the ref's read this forum, could jeopardise the games as ref's will go out and show people they are not scared of Minto and penalise them out of the game. keep the refs comments out and let the semis begin and the best team win. If the man in the middle doesn't matter then lets not have them at all, and while where at it let's get rid of the players too. What sort of a comment is that? Good refereeing is integral to the game and as we all know some refs are better than others. I think that all sides would like the best ref for their game. I have seen many games decided this year by one or two decisions that could have gone either way. Every side has to take the referee assigned to the game and that ref will do his best, but I doubt if there wouldn't be a player out there that has not said "oh no" when a ref they have had a bad experience with takes the field. Please I am not ref bagging, just commenting on the comment "does the man in the middle really matter" I have admiration for all refs who go out and take what they take. But obviously some are better than others

Well said. And further to that, for people to insinuate that referees performance could change as a result of comments on this forum is way off the mark. All 3 referees that are in line for senior grand finals are too experienced to allow that to happen. At the end of the day we all hope that the outcomes will be dictated by the teams playing and the guys in the middle do their part to ensure a fair contest. Good luck to all involved! |
