It was pretty bad. There was not any kicking or anything like that, but there was a lot of players involved and a lot of punches thrown. Will probably see some players suspended for a while. I am sure the JL will site some players that were involved that didn't get sent off etc.

It was disappointing to see that fight in the 18s, but I am happy that that was the only game where there was do-do going on. This was (excusign the 18s) the grand final day we needed to have. A great tight game in Reserve grade and a tough game in 1sts. Hopefully this is a step forward towards a stronger comp next year.

Would love to see an U/20s comp introduced as C grade to keep some of those 18s player around. Lets hope we get more of our clubs involved in seniors next year.
I'm so dissapointed in the18's yesterday, and my concerns where the Reserve Grade and A Grade, I didnt hang around for that but the 18's I just could not believe, players running off the bench, there was more players in the fight than out of it, it made the NRL Melbourne and Manly fight look like school girls. I dont know how you can be so optamistic footybloke, look back at the year, it hasnt been fun, the quality of football hasnt been an even contest, take out the voilance, there has been games where teams running around with 9 players, I could go on and on. I must say Footymum, that fight wasnt one way, you guys was as just as much to blame if not more than the Collies. Yesterday wasnt a good day for Rugby League thats all I can say.
The game where players were running around with 9 players was in the pre-season 9's i tink
and most doggies games as well
What games do you want me to mention, was it the start of the year when RSL players refused to play A Grade, was it the make shift Bulldogs team that couldnt get the players or was it Warriors when they didnt get there 8 Tigers players, Minto had a few times in Reserve Grade struggled on players and guys bavking up for Grade, I dont think you where funny at all, this is serious :finger: this comp is in jeopardy and dire straights at a Senior level and next year will only see more people leave the area to play footy, say that again LEAVE THE AREA!

It was the worst incident ive seen, what is going on with the young generation to act like that! I wont be surprised if you see it on ACA or something like that, it was ugly! I heard it was on youtube but I searched it and couldnt find it, its not something to display thats for sure. Wonder why members of our club want to join Group 6, just another example

And if that is the worst you have seen, you must have a poor memory... two weeks ago? Glenn Stewart and Adam Blair was worse, blacktown last year. many many many worst than that.

Just for the record NO-ONE from ESA ran off the bench and no-one from the ESA supporters threw water bottles onto the field.

I have watched the Manly fight many times and this was nothing compared to that.

Never said the fight was one way but both sides will blame the other side for starting it no matter what the video shows or how many were sent off from each side but we could debate that all day and still not agree.

No it wasn't a good thing for Rugby League but it showed what determantion and talent can do at the end of the day, which is to bring home the trophy even when you have been taken down to 7 players against 11 for 10 minutes.

At the end of the day fighting in Rugby league is on the outer sooner the leagues and clubs put the hard stances on this better the chances those clubs have to progress with sponsorship and community backing!!

Yeah Highlander, I think that is the key point. When they see the game in the Macarthur as marketable, then sponsors will get on board. I think the comp is only one or two big sponsor short of being able to pay players etc.

 pay the players  not many wests clubs can afford to pay players some are flat out getting sponsors for team gear and strapping not much left over after that and unless the JL props up the rego for them thats another 4-5k they have to come up with ^o) most wests players wont pay thier regos ask rsl boys who left for bulldogs

I can assure you that players are already getting paid this year, not the dollars in group 6 but more than $50 a win and not paid by Wests. Sponsers are hard to get but they are out there if somebody puts in the effort.

The players will never get paid by the clubs.... The JL need to get a big, big name sponsor who is willing to throw a fair bit of money behind the comp to get the ball rolling.

I doubt you would ever find a sponser big enough to pay all players from all teams. :cstars: Tell me where that is happening anywhere in any district or any sport.

And if the clubs that promised their players money dont pay what's due, I doubt they will get them back next year. Now that wouldn't be to smart, would it? :cstars:

I dont know who will "officially" acknowledge it, and now that I am not involved with any club officially, I cant make that statement in an official capacity, It is up to the individual clubs to acknowledge or deny this, but as I said, if the players dont get their money, I am sure they will show thier contempt. But I will state again players are being paid, but It is not up to me to state by who.

N.B if the clubs that are paying make it public it would go a long way towards attracting players for next year.

If the players were looking for cash to play they would head out to Group 6 but as has been seen in the last few years some players asking for overs and having to come back to the Wests comp as with the point system out there they will start to pick and choose players. I could only think of 2 clubs in the Wests that could afford / would offer to pay "some" players, not all.
Unfortunatly for the Wests comp it isn't marketable as it gets no press past Casula and no name players to attract any attention. I can't remember the last ex-first grader that came back to the Wests Comp, can anyone else?

Ray Cashmere played for Mac Saints before he played for the Wests Tigers, so no he wasnt an ex NRL player playing in the Wests competition, If you want the answer Ronald Jones played for Collies in 2006, with the cashed up Stockwell, he would be the only ex NRL player in the Wests Juniors A Grade for 15 years, cannot remember anymore then him. :correct:
