If the players were looking for cash to play they would head out to Group 6 but as has been seen in the last few years some players asking for overs and having to come back to the Wests comp as with the point system out there they will start to pick and choose players. I could only think of 2 clubs in the Wests that could afford / would offer to pay "some" players, not all.
Unfortunatly for the Wests comp it isn't marketable as it gets no press past Casula and no name players to attract any attention. I can't remember the last ex-first grader that came back to the Wests Comp, can anyone else?
ray cashmere.... mac saints... a grade???
Ray Cashmere played for Mac Saints before he played for the Wests Tigers, so no he wasnt an ex NRL player playing in the Wests competition, If you want the answer Ronald Jones played for Collies in 2006, with the cashed up Stockwell, he would be the only ex NRL player in the Wests Juniors A Grade for 15 years, cannot remember anymore then him. :correct:
Ron Jones was playing for oakdale in 2006

Actually Ray did play for Mac Saints after his NRL debut... He made his debut for Wests in '99 under Tommy not in '05 as many think... So after playing for Wests in 99 he did play for Mac Saints....

Minto Cobras come out on top in A-grade footy
http://macarthur-chronicle-campbelltown.whereilive.com.au/sport/story/minto-cobras-come-out-on-top/

MINTO Cobras stole the show with a solid 36-20 win over competition newcomers Liverpool Titans to claim the 2011 Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League A-grade title at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday.

More than 2000 supporters were on hand for the season finale, which included deciders for the 16s, 18s, reserve grade and A grade competitions.

The 12s to 15s age groups played their final games on the Saturday.

The A-grade decider capped off what league officials said was a “successful season” and firmly put behind the disappointment of the disintegration of the joint competition with Group 6.

Officials predicted the Wests competition would be even stronger next season with early indications more new clubs could join the fold.

The A-grade grand final had fans on the edge of their seats and Minto was only able to take control of the game with 15 minutes on the clock. A final try on the final siren was a bonus for the Cobras.

The Titans had a tough day at the stadium, with their reserve grade also missing out on the spoils with a nailbiter 27-24 loss to Liverpool Catholic Club.

Wests chairman Wayne Hardy-Smith said the quality and standard of rugby league on both days was exceptional as was the the sportsmanship displayed by all involved. “It was a credit to everyone: the players, coaches, managers, officials and spectators,” he said.

He thanked Campbelltown Council for preparing the stadium and also Wests Tigers recruitment officer Warren McDonnell, development officer Ben Rogers and fitness coach John Skandalis for adding their support and encouragment with their presence.

How can anyone comment that the games where played in good spirits? maybe he forgot the all in brawl that happened in the 18's and it was obviously that bad as when I went to buy the DVD you had to order it as they had to go and edit the DVD (take the fights out) are you for real! and here we go again, the fields of broken promises, who are the new teams? I done think he understands, ask how many clubs from this year is going to back up next year, How many games did this man actually attend this year!

Well instead of focusing on the 18's brawl , why dont people focus & comment on the positives that came out of the day ? Surely the day wasn't all bad.

I agree stop focusing on the brawl it was a minor part of a great game of football. I would like to praise the effort of the 7 players ESA had left on the field against 11 players from collies, what anyone there that day witnessed was brilliant, the determination and grit shown by the boys left had us all amazed. One parent has declared them "the magnificent seven".

What i cannot believe is how in the hell do they put ESA on the backpage of the paper, they were involved in an discusting fight, they have all but wipped out the 18's comp with all there rep players, they have whinged all year about the competition and when they finally get some real competition they start throwing punches to win the game, remember this side was down to 7 players, that isnt determination and skill, it is ill decipline.
and to make it worse, all there players have bragged about leaving the area going to Group 6, well what i seen on Sunday, see ya later Good Riddance!

I would of liked to see ESA play the likes of Camden, Narellan, Mittagong and the 2 Campbelltown Clubs, would of been interesting to see who would win

Great work by the Wests JL to get the seniors up and running. Of course losing the combined competition made it tough on everyone, but the loyal clubs got through it and were rewarded on GF day.
 Minto are a real good A Grade team and deserved there win. But great work by Titans in there first year and All Saints who stayed strong and turned down Group 6's attempts to turn them as well.
LCC, first go in seniors and a competition win over local arch rivals Titans. Old Darcy just can't jag a win, but he's there every year and that says a lot about him and his coaching, particularly to do what a new club has done in first year of operation. Titans are easy the club of the year in Wests :winner: :winner:
LCC will be the new seniors power in Wests I predict.
ESA hopefully will hold it together because with all those great young juniors they have to be able to come through for you. Great win in the 18s- magnificent 7 great call- & whispers are that Collies are back in A Grade and Reserves in 2012.
The Chairman is correct. New teams will come in 2012, I'd like to see U/19s or 20s going as well.
And as for the Cascades Eagles & Leppington Kangaroos, whose smiling now??

5 team a grade to 6 team agrade great call bobcat    how many juniors will titans steal from All Saints next year bobcat and will that cripple them in 2-3 years???? yes west got a comp all be it 5 teams and struggled along all year but the on and off field voilence is all that most people will remember sadly people still talking about the pres getting snotted :fight: and all ins and what not will this all be cleaned up next year bobcat or will it be swept under the rug like all other ugly incidents :nono:
we wonder why the combined comp ended :finger: let group 6 run seniors and west the kiddies problem solved :winner:

Orite mate, you run us down on here.
1. Theres do-do in everygame but collies were just grubs the last two games, Yous say we were I'l disciplined, you have no idea mate, in that semi I stood there and took punch after punch making sure I didn't throw one back, yet we still copped the send off and sin bins, and this week, collies started it again and we gave it back, yet we still had 6 taken from the field compared to there 2 ?
You werent out there playing with us all year so stop running us down.
