So dunley is still under Camden (not that he is signed with them) and named in group 6 rep team when there was no apparent team he plays for..can anyone inform me how this works.. By rights he shouldn't have to be there..
Who cares.. He is good enough to be there and by next week he will play for a side!!
What's the big deal ????
I'm just amazed that the same people who kicked the eagles out of the comp are picking a player from that same team :dunno:

Not doubting the kid wants to play just asking why the decision was made to pick an eagles player when and after the group and clubs voted them out(just seems some people make their own rules when it suits them)

Geez, it seems no topic can be discussed without the eagles debacle being brought into it. I've gotta get off this forum. It's so boring and repetitive now.

Am Friends with his father last we spoke he was at Goulburn Workers in the Canberra comp doing well and earning good coin!!

Group 20 have made some changes to their squad to take on group 6 this weekend, click below link for a pictorial view of the group 20 squad. Notable admission is mick Dodson a former group 6 captain who was overlooked for group 20 with their kelly cup game against group 9.

Dodson, willie jones and Jayden Kelly were not available for the game against group 9. Dodson was in rep retirement, jones had work commitments and Kelly's 2 year old boy is battling leukaemia. This will be a great game to watch. I'll be there in Cooma with my snow gear on to witness the spectical.

Mick was asked to play rep for group 20 but turned it down initially because he still lives in Goulburn and actually travels 4hrs to Lake Cargiellico to train/play, so having to train twice weekly for the rep squad outside club commitments would mean an expensive fuel bill for him id imagine.

Well done to cameron bruist on getting the start for the rep game this weekend due to borgy being unavailable. He will do a great job and will not look out of place having played a higher level for some years with parramatta and cronulla. He had a fantastic game on the weekend against jets and isn't doing too bad in the girlfriend department...
Youngys replacement in stolk is a smart choice offering plenty of go forward. All in all I think this group 6 side is a very tidy outfit and will do well.
And I also heard there may be a new strip being worn by the boys this weekend??
Can anyone confirm?

WORKING towards a first grade premiership, the talent at Mittagong Lions has certainly been noticed.

Five players were selected for the Group 6 senior representative team, with four chosen for the final squad of 17.

First grade coach Scott Borg, Ben Baker, Warwick Carter, Robbie Payne and Matt Thorpe were all selected after the Lions have shown the past couple of years that they are serious premiership contenders.

A few years ago Mittagong were struggling to get close to the top of the ladder.

Borg said these selections werea great boost to the club.

“I think it’s good to see Mittagong get recognised. I think a lot of the time we sort of get lost out here because we’re so far away from every other team but I think our results have gotten us a lot of players in the team which is good for the club and good for the Southern Highlands as well,” he said.

“With our reserves and 18s, everyone’s competitive now so the club championship is definitely our goal for the year.”

The Group 6 team has completed their preliminary training before their match this Saturday against Group 20 down at Cooma.

“I don’t know too much about them because they’re so far away but they had a trial against Group 9 and got touched up so they’ll be out to come and get us. Even just playing a game is good, doesn’t matter if you win or lose. We’re going in without having played with each other. They’ve played a game which gives them a bit of an advantage over us.”

Borg, Baker, Carter and Payne were all chosen in the starting line up for the team but after a tough match against Picton on the weekend, Borg re-injured his shoulder and will not take part in the match against Moss Vale this weekend.

For the other three, they will all start in their preferred positions, Baker on the wing, Carter at lock and Payne in the front row.

“That’s great news for us. They’re not only picking us, they’re picking us in our positions we deserve to be in which is great. It all happens pretty quickly and it’s hard to gel but most of the guys seem to know each other around the group.”

Mittagong are third on the first grade ladder and yet to take on Thirlmere after their match was rained out in the first round.

“We’re one loss with Oakdale and Narellan so we’re right up there.”

TLU’s Kelly, Dodson in for Razorbacks

TLU's Jaden Kelly

THE GROUP 20 Razorbacks have received a timely boost ahead of Saturday’s CRL Championships in Cooma with confirmation star Tullibigeal-Lakes United pair Jaden Kelly and Mick Dodson will play.

The inspirational halfback and the veteran forward were both named in the revised squad released last week, but both players were considered touch-and-go due to family and work reasons.

Kelly has been named alongside boom Yenda pivot Shannon Rupapere, while Dodson is set to start on the pine when Group 20 locks horns with Group 6 on Saturday.

“Jado obviously runs the show,” representative coach Chris Bamford said. “He’s the best half in Group 20.

“I played Country Firsts with Doddo in 2010.

“He might be 37 years of age now but I’m pretty sure they’d want him again, that’s how well he’s going.

“He’s built like a bull terrior – he just keeps coming all day. He tackles hard and takes more hit-ups than props.

“He just goes all day.”

However, West Wyalong captain-coach Willy Jones has been ruled out due to work commitments.

Leeton’s Warren Lloyd and Bidgee stalwart Willy Newton will instead line up in the centres.

“We ummed and ahhed about it but he just can’t get off work, which is a bit of a loss for us,” Bamford said.

“But overall we’ll obviously be a lot stronger for the changes made. We’re all looking forward to it.”

The Group 20 squad will train tonight in Leeton.

GROUP 20 TEAM

1. Daniel Hyde (Bidgee)

2. Kolo Lomu (Leeton)

3. Willie Newton (Bidgee)

4. Warren Lloyd (Leeton)

5. Sam Eisenhut (Leeton)

6. Shannon Rupapere (Yenda)

7. Jaden Kelly (TLU)

8. Chris Bamford (Bidgee)

9. Andrew Lavaka (Leeton)

10. Chris Latu (Leeton)

11. Craig Iverach (West Wyalong)

12. Nick Briggs (DPC)

13. Phil Crosby (Hay)

BENCH: Mick Dodson (TLU), Trenton King (TLU), Chris Mayberry (West Wyalong), Sean Scott (Bidgee), Josh Curphey (DPC).

By "not troubling your forwards" is your view on averaging 15 metres a hit up and drawing at least 3 defenders a run and topping the tackle count is your definition of an average game I suppose your right.

LOL  I honestly just laughed out loud!
Look I'm not having a shot at the bloke it was just an opinion, an honest one at that unlike yours. He is a good player but don't insult my intelligence with your statistics of the game

A- 15m slight exaggeration

B- 15m means nothing when you take 6 hit ups all game

C- highly unlikly to top the tackle count with 47m game time as the match sheet said. (I noticed this as I thought it was odd he got little game time)

Good player just expected more from a man of his size. Good to see him get a start in the group game hopefully he gets good minutes off the bench.
