Sunday 16th October , Midday. APPIN SENIOR RLFC ARE SEEKING PLAYERS 1ST GRADE, RESERVE GRADE AND UNDER 18's FOR SEASON 2012. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED COME ALONG ON SUNDAY 16 OCT AT MIDAY FOR A BBQ. MEET THE COACH OF ALL GRADES AND GET TO KNOW ALL ABOUT OUR CLUB...IF YOU ARE INTERESTED BUT UNABLE TO MAKE IT CALL OR TEXT 0423 973 946...
This has no relevance with this thread topic.
It does if your trying to poach players from the west!
appin really plugging hard out are they struggling for numbers maybe is it true they are not paying 1st grade players and if so what quality will that attract? if appin dont get the numbers for 2 teams will they still field a 1st grade? group 6 like the draw done fairly early so im thinking they would have to know and probably why appin are starting so early as if sunday i hope appin get all grades up but not paying 1st graders may hinder the venture how will clubs feel if they went around in 3rd again being premiers 2 years in a row id say 1st is a must and good luck to appin it can be achieved you never know we may have a 1st, reserves, 2nd div, 18sA and 18sB if wests dont have a comp players need some where to play just letting them know we are out there

Titans lost both Grand Finals Beefa i dont know were you get 2 premierships from!
read it again i siad titans 1 year in 2 teams not take 5 years and win 2 premierships like appin have and then get more teams and use west players at that i think we need a poaching rule brought in from west to group 6 so you white anters stop stealing our juniors Appin been in comp 4 years beefa 2008 grandfinal just got beaten on siren by oaks not bad for first year 2nd year made finals 3rd and 4th year premiers not a bad record even if I say so myself...yes we are going to step up and yes we are letting players out there know just that... so if they want to play 1sst reserves or 18s they have the opportunity to play for our great club

ronny will be the best move you blokes ever make out there<br />I played with & helped appin when we were the warriors<br />we left wests for the same reason do-do seniors comp & had 5 top seasons out there<br />we won the 18s & reserves in 92 & 94<br />the pub & town will get right in behind the footy club if the club is run good<br />you won't look back <br />I'm told the masters footy set itself up in appin as well to steer clear of wests
Warrior,<br />you wouldn't know cocko by any chance, just a good mate of mine<br />who helped out with the 18's at Appin this year.
should have added , he played out there in that era also
steve? real tough second rower played with steelers in sydney 1st grade. Top fella best player we had at appin was old Kim patrick played til he was 40 I think & is always having a beer in the pub there when I pop in. stan presdee & Mick kirkman close to best players as well mentioned 4 sydney top graders there, Patrick played with illawarra as well how many ex 1st graders play in the wests junior league hahaha, we even had aseri Laing mick de veer & big angelo play for us all nrl players in there own right we were very succesful out there good luck with it exciting for youse is skd having a run
Why did Appin change from Warriors to the Dogs? anychance in becoming Warriors again and using Campbelltown Warriors as your Junior Club, sounds like Collies maybe your junior club know and I suppose a collie is a dog.
Appin warriors folded 10 years before we were established. Appin dogs have their own juniors now. Appin dogs are blue black and white appin warriors. were yellow green and white, when the warriors folded so did their junior club. The senior and junior clubs have worked hard for the last 4 years to provide a local club for our local kids, we may not be a big town population only 1800 but we will grow in the next ten years...Last year was the first year we had juniors come uo to seniors, there may have only been 10 players but they were our first, this year we had 6 players come up to play in senior grade next year I think there is only 4 as all the others that played in under16s were only 14. Appin are the Appin Dogs and will not change their name to Appin warriors. we named our club after a couple of well known icons in the town Appin Dog Track and Appin Pubs Dog Bully who is our mascot and the dog in our logo. yes we do have Campbelltown post code 2560 but we are a group 6 club with group 6 juniors...our club would never change their name nor want to loose their identiy ...but we do consider the warriors as our brother club and if their juniors dont have a senior club to go to they are welcome to join ours... I actually recieved a call from the local paper last year asking me if we were aware of the Appin Panther that roams Appin...and they asked us if we would consider changeing our name to the Appin Panthers....mmmmm my response was quick and short NO. No offence intended Warriors.... we are now Appin Dogs Collies club is not our junior club we have our own... and yes if collies players need a place to play we are just down the road... Rumours we are combineing is only a rumour as I stated above it has taken 4 years to build our own identity and we will not part with it....Hey but thanks for your concern blue devil. Any one wanting to play 1st grade reserve grade or under 18s next year Appin are looking for players we are haveing a meet and greet on sunday 16 october at miday till 2pm come out and see what our club is all about and enjoy a sausage sizzle....
Hey just a thought if you decided to pair up with west junior collegians , imagine the juniors pushed your way then as the office does for collies now thanks for your advice

Well Beefa/Bobcat, if Wests can't offer players a viable competition then they are entitled to look elsewhere! just offering players a place to play,if their clubs cant allready do that... not stealing anyones juniors

He loves the titans old beefa ha ha Mate WESTS need the Titans, they are probably the only team left who could compete in G6. No disrespect to All Saints or other clubs, I mean for the sponsorship needed etc to be really competetive. This is my guess for the continual compliments - they dont want them to jump ship. Wests should send / even sponsor any A grade teams only to play in Penrith, Parra or canterbury comps, playing reserves and u18s here. This may allow all the other clubs to build / form seniors from their juniors. Not throw the young fellas in just to make up numbers. Eventually having enough teams for a stand alone comp.

Hey Beefa, we all know how much you are overwhelmed with the Titans, I dont know your association with them and as I have said in previous posts, Well Done to the Titans team for their success . But let us be clear about the where a club has to start to build , because I dont think that the Titans used all WDJRL players this year either. I believe they drew on players from Illawarra DRL, Canterbury Bankstown JRL, Parramatta DJRL and a couple of others. This is what you have to do in order to build when you have a very limited JUNIOR BASE and as a new club this is exactly what the Titans did. So in your argument about stealing / poaching players from where-ever as you may see, if you look in your own backyard this is what you must do to achieve success and survival, thus a proven fact. Just look at the Titans this year and what they achieved . I played all my JRL in the Penrith DJRL which was over 14 years, I have been involved for over 12 years in the WDJRL as a parent, trainer, first aider and a coach and still have a child that plays there, and now I am at CRL. Movement of players have happened for years and it will be no different over the next 100 years. Players will come and go. So before you take a swipe at others look around mate
, you'll find that we are not that much different to all other clubs. What more is to say, except, is you dont know Garbage, this describes what you have to post. And looking at other posts a lot of ppl agree.

WDJRL need people as yourself with valid ideas to keep and maintain the games survival in their competition. Support of your district, not distraction and negativity. If a lot more people supported their clubs and generated ideas such as yours, the game could be a survivor for a lot longer and keep away the progression of the AFL which is on the doorstep of breaking through. If they get here how many players are we going to lose then?.

We have secured our first grade coach for next year already and will build from that. Of course everyone has a point, it just depends on how deep of the point is valid.

They have to go into a building phase. For example when a new school opens it doesnt have up to year 6 straight away, first and kinder then add a year to it as they age or progress. Wests have the juniors, all of whom want to stay with the club they grew up playing for.Next step is 17-18s (ALREADY IN PLACE) + RESERVES, then A grade.
