we should have an answer back soon on the penrith merger guys fingers crossed as this will see the biggest A grade comp in nsw and all our loyal clubs taking part :winner: :winner:
I hope that this merger comes off, as it will enable Wests clubs to play in a division equal to their ability, up to 3 divisions in all age groups. This will help clubs to build up to A grade. I hope Penrith realise that only a few clubs can compete in A grade initially. Travel may be a pain, but its only on some game days ? No B/S play train rule will help cut travel anyway.
Wait and see if you get any players interested, I'm young and I know a lot of guys that play local, they have had enough when there is no stable comp, sick of chop and changing, if Penrith goes ahead it will be the final nail!
when my son played for esa under 18s wests could not provide a comp for them and they played in canterbury comp the only home game advantage we got was playing at the same ground belonging to st johns no home games on home soil. 2 years later when he played 1st grade for collies once again they had to play on their turf no home game on ctown soil

Dad said hd could remember the early 90's the same thing happened back then and they had to merge the comp with Balmain and someone else, he said when are people that run these clubs going to realize, he did say that there will be something interesting in the local rag, that will throw the Junior League in KAOS for 2012, why does that generation call it a rag?

Minto Cobras eager for new ground

http://macarthur-chronicle-campbelltown.whereilive.com.au/sport/story/minto-cobras-eager-for-new-ground/

THE Minto Cobras Junior Rugby League Football Club is set to move to a new home ground early next year.

The Cobras have spent years jumping from field to field but will settle into their own facility at Minto’s Benham Reserve for the 2012 season. The reserve is being upgraded and refurbished as part of Landcom’s One Minto development.

The Cobras will be eager to move into their new home after winning the 2011 Wests junior rugby league first grade competition.

The premiership and promise of the new homeground firmly puts in the past the heartbreak when the club’s beloved Townson Oval headquarters were burnt down in 2009. Club president Wayne Potts said everyone couldn’t wait to see the finished product.

“I reckon it’s the best thing that’s happened to our club for a long while,” Potts said. “We’ve been moving between pretty rundown facilities for more than 30 years and for the first time we’ll have a new complex.

“We’ll be able to play our senior games at home instead of trying to find a new ground each week.”

Campbelltown councillor Paul Lake, a Wests juniors official, said the Cobras’ 300-player membership base would hopefully grow as a result of the upgrades.

“The new complex will comprise an international field, mini field, playground equipment and amenities block,” he said.

Hi Beefa, how is your sponsorship drive going? the sponsorship/raffle/pyramid scheme you tried to do, i hear its a floop  and you couldnt get anyone to buy your $100 raffle tickets, its nothing but a pyramid scheme that was a hit in the 90,s. I have a new name for you guys, the Amway Titans    things are not looking good for you beefa, so stop worrying about everyone else and look at trying to keep your players, with the talk of valley returning and your players leaving left, right and centre. you guys will want to start offering something fast    not just a pretty blue jersey

Wouldn't count the chickens yet Dad said, Dad said the ground at Eagle Vale was promised by some councilor as being second best only to the stadium, has anyone seen or played on Eschol park this year, $120,000 later and it's no different, becareful Minto you may not get what you hope for. Just ask ESA

Look Parent, I’m the first to admit the Life Member doesn’t have much spine and is a dreamer, but for you to write that you’re not much different, who are you going to play? Are your guys going to step up into A Grade and play the likes of Minto, Valley and Titans, who ever Neddy goes to this year? I don’t think so, what structure is the comp going to have, you know a number of teams have departed, People just have to be honest on this forum and speak what is actually happening not what they are hoping will happen. :correct:

And the big one! will there be any seniors subsidized next year :dunno: you guys demanded regos last year and no one wanted to pay, what happened if there is no subsidized regos do you think you will have 4 teams :letmesee:

Thats twice as much in Regos, Good luck sorcing the money for that, and look at Committees, Junior League has spent a considerable amount of Junior Money trying to get a senior competition just to keep us out, I seen the Group 6 Finances last night and they are well back on track and doing great. the 2 years combined cost Group 6 alot of money but one good season and they are looking great. :correct:
