first time at wimimnda oval yesterday what a good game. 1st of all the ref let the game flow credit 2 him and his touch judges. think he is a new ref i dont think ive seen him b4. (might be wrong if anyone can correct that?) 1st half was a bit scrappy lots of dropped ball but the eagles must have got a good rev up at half time because they came out firing and looked very convincing. i missed jetters game does anyone no how jetters lost so convincingly????????????
Ref was glen whiteman We haven't had him this year either. I've heard he has been languishing in reggies
I was there & watch you blokes play eagles a 50 point better team were cruising in the 1st half will smash anyone in the gf this year Bit early to be saying that but we are getting better due to our new trainer and assistant coach we have been getting flogged at training so we the end of the season comes we will be at our peak

Lions claw way to victory
BY LAUREN WRIGHT
http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/lions-claw-way-to-victory/2602064.aspx?storypage=0

WITH 12 men on the field and the injury toll mounting, Mittagong Lions first grade team put in one of their best performances of the season to beat Narellan Jets 44-10 at home yesterday afternoon.Midway through the first half, Mark Delamont was sent from the field after an altercation with a Jets player in which the player's nose was split.Lions fullback Ryan Borg left the field soon after with a knee injury and later in the half Ash Brown was knocked out after a high shot.
Mittagong led 14-10 at the break despite a number of contentious calls from the referee and when they came back on they didn't allow Narellan to score a point.Their fourth win on the trot, Lions coach Scott Borg said yesterday's game was an amazing effort.
"It's huge. Having a player sent off in the first 15 minutes and losing our fullback straight away is just a huge effort to win," he said,
"That's what it takes to win grand finals but we've got to continue from here we can't just let up now."
With Justin Madden also injured in the final minutes of the match, Ryan Borg appeared to be the most serious and may have a medial injury which could keep him out of the game for awhile. After a loss to Narellan away in their first match of the season, Borg said it was good to get revenge on home soil.
It was a fiery match, with fights erupting twice in the first half before both teams settles after the break.
Borg said the past few weeks showed their potential and hoped they could continue their form heading into the back end of the season.
"Just attitude difference was the best thing but I think we're learning how to win now so our aim is to make a grand final and win a grand final. So games like this where you put 12 men and win a game like that, that's how we get towards it," he said.
While the whole team lifted in yesterday's gutsy effort, Borg said young Matt Thorpe along with front rowers Troy Martin, Erin Blackshaw, Mitch Eccleston and Robbie Carter played phenomenally.
On the wrong end of the penalty count, Borg said they could not place blame of the referee.
"We did cop a raw end but that comes down to our own fault, we can't blame the referee so we've just got to play to it and it was good to get a win."
The Lions face first grade premiers Oakdale this Sunday and Borg said it would be another tough challenge.
"Another big game, (we need to be) working together, keeping intensity, completing our sets, getting to good kicks and just playing fast."
On a chilly Highlands afternoon, Borg thanked the supporters for braving the cold to cheer their team on.

Red Eagle, if this keeps up I'm going to have to do one of two things, 1 place a media ban on you or 2 run at you at training, I know which one you would prefer, leave the trash talk on the field! Talk to you on Thursday!!!!

Lions claw way to victoryBY LAUREN WRIGHT http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/lions-claw-way-to-victory/2602064.aspx?storypage=0 WITH 12 men on the field and the injury toll mounting, Mittagong Lions first grade team put in one of their best performances of the season to beat Narellan Jets 44-10 at home yesterday afternoon.Midway through the first half, Mark Delamont was sent from the field after an altercation with a Jets player in which the player's nose was split.Lions fullback Ryan Borg left the field soon after with a knee injury and later in the half Ash Brown was knocked out after a high shot. Mittagong led 14-10 at the break despite a number of contentious calls from the referee and when they came back on they didn't allow Narellan to score a point.Their fourth win on the trot, Lions coach Scott Borg said yesterday's game was an amazing effort. "It's huge. Having a player sent off in the first 15 minutes and losing our fullback straight away is just a huge effort to win," he said, "That's what it takes to win grand finals but we've got to continue from here we can't just let up now." With Justin Madden also injured in the final minutes of the match, Ryan Borg appeared to be the most serious and may have a medial injury which could keep him out of the game for awhile. "We did cop a raw end but that comes down to our own fault, we can't blame the referee so we've just got to play to it and it was good to get a win." The Lions face first grade premiers Oakdale this Sunday and Borg said it would be another tough challenge. "Another big game, (we need to be) working together, keeping intensity, completing our sets, getting to good kicks and just playing fast." On a chilly Highlands afternoon, Borg thanked the supporters for braving the cold to cheer their team on.
It's hard to go down mitta on a cold afternoon and win congrats to them like I've said before if picton keep winning oakdale or narrellen will miss out on finals borgy can control games and knows his stuff but when they meet us at waminda be ready for a big game
Don't worry about us tiger, we've also got a game in hand. We also had a fair few personnel out over the weekend, but I won't offer excuses. Was that you running around in reggies on the weekend, then backing up?
Nah tc I scored actually and If ur referring to ur Reggie's there duds u guys are unfit and I'd game in hand u guys are struggling hard good luck to u's but u won't come anywhere near first or second And just remember we have a game in hand too mate
Just trying to flush out who u are, the boys were trying to tell me you were someone else, but I knew I was right, I offered no excuses for our loss, and will wear it like we should. Number 11 is only filling in for blokes that were missing, he has only played twice this year Just remember, there is only 1 game that counts. Who else were use missing I know lowe didn't play but who else ???
