The junk on here recently is why i've been asking for a 3rd grade forum.
There is a vendetta against the appin club, and the slandering that is going on towards Jye O'Mullane is pathetic.
Give it a rest people, if this club is happy with beating up 3rd grade, then so be it. The group is taking the necessary steps towards eliminating this, but the whiteanting that is going on is really childish.
Great call TC stay in thirds and belt it That is great for small clubs like robbo mount Annan bowral who field young teams and if you seen how that bloke from appin gets under young blokes 18 and 19 year olds he knows he can put over and berates them you might change your tune these Boys don't play behind a pack like oakdale give it back to him ask around his not well liked for how he carrys on intimidating kids when he Plays tuff teams goes missing
Well 18 & 19 year olds would experience intimidation from opposition sides if they were playing reserves or firsts also. To single out one player for doing what you said is silly considering there are a lot more players in the comp that do the same.
i think westie is makeing it bigger then it really is if you dont like the guy mate have it out with him yourself stop trying to get people to do it for you on the footy paddock next season...

football is football,,,2nd div football is what you all call park or pub football and yes allways a lot of intimidation in it by at least 60% players...ask any other 2nd div club last season and they will tell you he was not the only intimidator....maybe the best at it as westie he seems to have intimidated you....
I think you need to worry more about the ones that just play to throw the punches and want to fight .......Appin club are playing 1st grade next year westie, give us some credit for trying to improve our club, we are dammed if we do and dammed if we dont. we are only a small club 8 junior teams and 2 senior teams and a womans team last season as well..we have been in the comp for only four seasons and dont plan on going any where we will play where the group wants us to play..

A little information for you westie...group 6 is not forceing us to 1st grade we approached them and told them thats where our club wants to be in 2012 graham andrews has told our club what we need to have in order to play first grade next year...1. Financial report 2. working committee 3. playing roster by the end of November otherwise we stay where we are and ofcourse without the 40point player.. if you keep doing what you are doing we will not have a 1st grade roster next year and will have to play in 2nd div...so my question to you and anyone else out there iwho has a problem with this.. where do you want appin to play next year ????

I'm not throwing my support behind Appin and their plight in 3rd grade. I think it was more the groups fault for not making them go up earlier.
Now this may sound ordinary, but this is the kind of bs that is tearing apart the Western Suburbs comp. All the whiteanting and infighting. So lets move on, and support Appin so that they do get to First Grade. And if they dont make it, then you can bag them.
I've never seen Jye O'Mullane before, but if you guys want to nit pick, i had the opportunity to watch a bit of 3rd grade this year, and i got to see plenty of thugs running around for multiple sides. I've also played against plenty in 1st Grade. So don't single someone out.

Don't you actually need a couple of clubs in a comp before you can hawk it around?!?

Dogs planning for 2012 season

APPIN Dogs Rugby League Football Club plan to step up to first grade in the Group 6 competition next season.
Group 6 secretary Warren Horsfield confirmed that Appin had "indicated that they wish to enter teams in first, reserve and under-18s for next season".

The Appin players, who won back-to-back premierships this season in second division, will form the bulk of the first grade team next year.

Club secretary Vicki O'Mullane said the club was excited at the prospect of playing in the elite level of the local rugby league competition.

She is confident the team can mix it with the established Group 6 heavyweights.

"I'm sure we will be very competitive," O'Mullane said.

"In order to get to first grade we had to have a financial plan in place and a full playing roster and prove we have a strong, working committee.

"We're recruiting people for the committee at the moment.

"We're having our annual general meeting on October 24 and we'll choose a committee then.

"I have a couple of people who are more than willing to put their hand up for positions on the committee."

Group 6 would welcome Appin to the first grade competition.

"I spoke to Grahame Andrews (Group 6 president) and he's given us the criteria we believe we are going to meet to get into first grade next season," O'Mullane said.

"I know we'll have the players, our boys and our club wants to step up to first grade.

"We gave ourselves a time frame to go to first grade and it's something we've been working on for a few years.

"Now that we've secured an 18s side I'm 99 per cent sure we will do what it takes to go to first grade and have reserves and under-18s teams."

Great article!

Let's support ALL our Group 6 Clubs, from our smallest to our largest! Appin has said that they want to step up into 1st grade and are planning for it - where they played this season is now irrelevant. They should be congratulated for taking up the challenge.

2011 was a very successful season for Group 6 (after 2 hellish years of the combine comp debacle) and 2012 is going to be even better. We have proved that Country Rugby League is a far superior product to what is being offered elsewhere and our comp provides a game for all levels of players - from star grade players to those who want to have a kick around with their mates on the weekend. The important thing is keeping our game clean, well disciplined, well organised and in the puplic eye.

What we did learn from the 2009/10 merged comp is that we have a far better product than the C.R.A.P. that we had to live through for those two years.

Our comp also offers Group 6 Juniors a fantastic pathway to grade footy, giving them 2 levels of 18s. We have some real talent coming through and a growing population means growing numbers in the junior clubs, with some new clubs in the next couple of years. Oran Park Town JRLC has been incorporated and established, it may not have any teams in next season's comp but as homes are established and families move in, that club will skyrocket. Another area that is being investigated is a future junior club between Thirlmere and Mitta.

Junior development is going from strength to strength with our touring side just returned from England after winning 2 of the 3 games there and plans for a Fiji tour next season are underway.

We have talented, committed mentors developing our boys and next year's programme will be even better. This is being done without any involvement or support from "West Tigers" (or "Balmain Tigers" because they're trying to kill off any connection to Wests). If they think they are going to suddenly swoop in to G6 and take credit for our development they better think again!

Really looking forward to the 2012 season, it's going to be GR8!!!! :correct:

Great comment Champ!!

Oran park is great news!! with the size of that place even 2 new clubs is a chance IMO!!!

A club between mitta and Thilmere is also a good idea!! With bargo being the best option(Maybe Hilltop or yanderra ???) and it would be nice to "stick one" to the AFL which has a strong hold in bargo so to speak!!

I also hope that in time bundy would look to Jnrs gives kids from Marulen to bundy a club!!! with only Moss vale or goulburn there options!!!!

I would be fighting tooth and nail to get a footy club in Bingara gorge!!!!

Your very optimistic highlander, How could you possibly see any other clubs joining group 6 from the southern end? Bundanoon will either stay in the illawarra rugby or fold, none of there current players wanna play league and the ones that do are already backing up and playing for moss vale on the sunday [witch is two/three players]. As for the team between miitagong and thelmere, i think you should do a door knock and recruit them to play for bowral, instead of creating á impossible club... you'd be lucky to get 1 interested person!!!
but i like your enthusiasm! :correct:

Bingara gorge is a new area kind of on its own out there id like to beleave in 5 years it would be big enough to form a rugby league club id really like to see the game get in there and have a go before soccer or AFL for once i know in group 7 Tullumbar titans have formed and have 2 or 3 teams that area has just stared development but will triple in size and should see them take off i think thats a chance here with your Oran Parks and other new suburbs coming up!!! :correct:

Group 6 JRL will be looking at the whole area and taking into consideration the current and possible future development in those areas. They are certainly not going to be setting up new clubs willy nilly or to the detriment of established Group 6 clubs but it is time that all boundaries were reviewed as there have been a lot of changes in the area since they were first drawn up.

It will be interesting to see where you will get your juniors from, as there are residential boundaries in G6 JRL and Bingara Gorge is residentially bound to Picton Magpies. With both Appin and Picton in real need for more juniors, that area in the near future just would not support another club - and neither club would give up any of their drawing area.
