Hey Black and White, where are the results from the weekend? there is nothing on the Group 6 web site, very unproffessional this time of year, I cant believe Mac Bulls won against city, but like I have stated before, you only here from them when they win.

Horror injury ends season
http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/story/295976/horror-injury-ends-season/?cs=264

RYAN Knight's season ended with a horror injury yesterday, after the young Dragon had to be airlifted from Community Oval.

In the second division match between Moss Vale and Bundanoon, the Dragons held a convincing 40-10 lead before Knight went down.

Midway through the second half he got caught in a tackle the wrong way and reported sharp pains in his back.

First aid officers stabilised him and called an ambulance, which arrived a short time later.

Paramedics treated Knight and put him in an ambulance.

He had feeling in all his limbs but still had pain in his back.

It all then went horribly wrong and he took a turn for the worse.Another ambulance was called to the scene to help treat Knight and with further treatment required the game was called off and a helicopter called to transport him to hospital.

The Dragons won the match 40-10 and progress through to the preliminary finals against Macarthur Bulls next week but Dragons skipper Damian Barton said it was a horrible way to finish the match.

Bundanoon coach Brett Breeze also said it was a sad way to finish the season and wished Knight the best.

"Our thoughts go out for the young fella from Moss Vale that was injured today and hope everything goes well for him because in rugby league you don't like to see injuries like that. Hopefully everything's right, that's the main thing."

Campbelltown Eagles Media Release 3-9-2012

1st Grade Campbelltown Eagles 46 def Mittagong 32

The Eagles came up against Mittagong in the Minor Semi-Final for a spot in the Grand Final to be played on the 16th of September. The Eagles posted first points with a try to Grant Lahey, but it was Mittagong that went on the attack finding plenty of room but blowing a couple of certain tries. The Eagles than ran in another try to Ben Weir to go to a 12 Nil lead. Mittagong hit back with a try to pressure the Eagles defence at 12-6. Grant Lahey bagged his double through a Wayde Dunley kick and the Eagles went into the break at 24-6.

Mittagong led by Captain Coach Scott Borg raced in three tries after the break to get the game back at 24-18 and which turned into a real arm wrestle, but like the Eagles have done in the past games, they turned on the tries with Stephen Harding scoring next to the posts, It was the try of the day when Chris Standing put through a kick and dived, catching the ball over the line to give the Eagles a good lead at 34-18.

The Final 20 minutes seen the defence from both teams lax and a further 2 tries to the Eagles through Lale Neemia and Mason Talalou and Mittagong running another 3 tries for the final score of 46-32, best for the Eagles where Grant Lahey, Michael Stevens, Samual Hoare and Stephen Harding.
Coach Richard Barnes said, it’s a relief to be in the Grand Final and who ever we meet they will be hard to beat in a fortnight’s time, we still have a lot of work to do in the next two weeks and last year’s grand Final loss is still burning within the players.

Reserve Grade Campbelltown Eagles 17 def Camden 16

The Eagles made it a double with the Reserve Grade making the Grand Final with a nail biter to beat Camden 17-16. The Eagles try scorers Fred Tavega, Faalelei Tuaoi and Robert Neave, with Mathew Gowman kicking 2 from 3. With the scores at 16 all for the last 10 minutes both teams defance was exceptional, Camden looked like they would win the game when the Camden winger made a break but was run down with a gutsy effort from front rower Thomas Leato that saved the Eagles, it was then up to Half Back Adrian Perumal that kicked the difference 40 meters out with a minute on the clock, putting the guys in a Grand Final position with a field goal to win 17-16.

3rd Grade Robertson 44 Campbelltown Eagles 16

Under 18’s Thirlmere 32 def Campbelltown Eagles 28

That's good news, it sounds like the care of first aids/club officials and the work of ambulance officers saved this young man's life!

Yes Ben Weir was sent, was given a low grading so we will see how he goes!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't he have carry over?
It was a ridiculous send off, hardly seems fair to miss a gf over it
gf or not... do the crime do the time ,,cant just be let of because playing in gf... how unfair that would be to clubs that have had players benched for same thing ...
I agree, that wasn't my point, I must not have put it across properly.
I meant it was a soft send off, and a silly incident. He might as well have taken an opponents head off.
fair enough i must have read it wrong...

Yes the clubs FAO Mick Sutherland did a tremendous job , its not a pleasant sight when you come to a player with a severe injury, he knew straight away it was a spinal injury , asked ryan alot of relevant questions whilst keeping his neck stable, he was also having trouble breathing and , mick was constantly talking to him , looking at him and telling him to focus on his breathing as he was finding it very difficult. After about 25 mins he asked the bundanoon FAO to come over and help keep him keep his legs still as he was starting to move his body around wether it was shock or cramps im unsure. Those initial steps were crucial and kept him stable until the ambulance arrived. The thing that is most concerning wether intentional or accidental ( i cant comment as i wasnt at the game) was the player involved in the tackle was a former mossy player.

It was bloody terrible for this to happen at an Under 9's game, some people need to pull there heads in, a couple of our club members really pissed me off for the way they carried on and some islander guy carried on like a pork chop, its friggen under 9's for God sake, I haven't heard nothing about action from the Junior League, but throw the book at these tools. You where all there and seen it, do something.

U/9s gee what a disgrace, there is a couple in that club that are always causing strife they were involved in a Group 6 club also but were punted from that this year, I hope it wasnt those two at it again RSL doesn't need these people in their club.
