Campbelltown Stadium Saturday under 9s parents from city and Ing RSL had to be removed from ground for brawling....
It was bloody terrible for this to happen at an Under 9's game, some people need to pull there heads in, a couple of our club members really pissed me off for the way they carried on and some islander guy carried on like a pork chop, its friggen under 9's for God sake, I haven't heard nothing about action from the Junior League, but throw the book at these tools. You where all there and seen it, do something.
Can't you smell it, it's the Wild Wild West.

That's sad, we wish young Ryan Knight all the best, keep us posted on how he is travelling.
Young knighty has broken his neck and back in 2 places! Talking to him today, said he has been told he'll walk again, witch come's as a big relief to him but he remains in high spirits as he cheeky witty self!
That's good news, it sounds like the care of first aids/club officials and the work of ambulance officers saved this young man's life!
Yes the clubs FAO Mick Sutherland did a tremendous job , its not a pleasant sight when you come to a player with a severe injury, he knew straight away it was a spinal injury , asked ryan alot of relevant questions whilst keeping his neck stable, he was also having trouble breathing and , mick was constantly talking to him , looking at him and telling him to focus on his breathing as he was finding it very difficult. After about 25 mins he asked the bundanoon FAO to come over and help keep him keep his legs still as he was starting to move his body around wether it was shock or cramps im unsure. Those initial steps were crucial and kept him stable until the ambulance arrived. The thing that is most concerning wether intentional or accidental ( i cant comment as i wasnt at the game) was the player involved in the tackle was a former mossy player.
I don't think any rugby league player would want to hurt an opponent in a serious way, let's all prey that young Ryan makes a speedy recovery and back to good health soon.

I was there and it's a shame you have a few numskulls, it was sorted out pretty quick and I don't know if anyone was injured but an Ambulance did turn up after the event, it's sad that Semi and Grand Final brings the worst out in some parents. Let the kids play the game sit back and encourage your kid that he got that far, anything from there is a bonus!

Moss Vale through to face Bulls

IT was far from the ideal way to end both Bundanoon and Ryan Knight's season, but Moss Vale came out on top in the local derby on Sunday against Bundanoon.

Midway through the second half, an injury to Knight who was later flown to Royal North Shore Hospital stopped the match with the Dragons 40-10 ahead.

With Knight unable to be moved with suspected spinal injuries, the match was called off soon after, with Moss Vale progressing through to the preliminary final.

A Dragons win was never in doubt after they scored off their first touch of the ball and while Bundanoon crossed the line once in each half, they did not appear to be anywhere near Moss Vale.

Bundanoon coach Brett Breeze lamented the poor finish to the year but commended the players on making it through to the second round of finals in their first year of rugby league.

"Would have liked to have finished on a bit of a higher not but we just didn't bring our game today and they were too strong for us. But in saying that the club as a whole's pretty happy with how we've gone in our first season in league so I think there's a lot more good to be taken out of the season than bad."

"The boys have enjoyed the season, I've enjoyed coaching them and I think it's been a pretty successful year. To make it into the semi-finals in our first year is a pretty good achievement. Just look forward to next year."

Breeze also extended the club's best wishes to Knight and hoped he made a quick recovery.

"I hope everything goes well for him because in rugby league you don't like to see injuries like that."

Moss Vale skipper Damian Barton also said it was a horrible way to end the match.

In a match that was stop and start from beginning to end, Barton said it was difficult to get structure or momentum.

After their first few tries and a Moss Vale victory on the cards, Barton said they switched the focus to their structure in order to prepare for this weekend's clash against Macarthur Bulls.

"We knew we sort of had it so we started working on a bit of stuff for next week and the attack was a bit scrappy in the first half but we're definitely getting there. Another week of training and I think we'll pick it up," he said.

"It (the game) was really hard to get into, it wasn't as quick as what our other semi-final was last week. It's hard to get your structure in a game like that when your making breaks all the time."

The Dragons will face a tough Macarthur outfit this Sunday who have bested them on both occasions this year but with a change to their structure in attack, Barton said he hoped it could be the difference this time around.

"There's a grand final riding on the line so we've got to throw everything at it and see how we go."

Barton also commended Bundanoon on making it through to the semis.

'It was a good game, there was no dirtiness and at the end they were all concerned about what happened to our player and that's the way footy should be."

The Clubs would know if they've had anyone nominated so that they can arrange to have them at the dinner.

Can someone put details of the nominated winners? who will be Group 6 player of the year, I'll tip Borg from Mitta, close second will be Trotter from Thirlmere and then Hore from Eagles.

I don't know why they are charging $15 but you'd want valet parking for that price.

The issue of the high $$$$ was raised at the group meeting, and there were a lot of complaints from the clubs.
A further blow to the poor crowds that have been at the first 2 weeks of the semi finals.
Easts have very small crowds at their games, their major group of supporters is usually their 3rd and reserve grade.
and Thirlmere had hardly anyone in attendance for a home semi.
The group should be pinning their hopes on mittagong getting through, cos the crowd down there on that chilly night was still ok.

I got told today it was $15 entry, I have had to do a lot of organizing of car pooling tonight, I had a few parents pull out of going tomorrow because of the price, a bit much to pay to take the family out for the day to watch a game of footy. :-/

Group 6 have always had this attitude that it is quality footy so they should charge accordingly....sounds like the NRL are playing but basic economics says a cheaper ticket means more people through the gate.
