Unlucky to our guys today, you guys gave it your all, and am i right about Damien getting the first Grade gig. from a losing side I did think the ref in Reserve Grade done well, could of pulled up a few head highs but compared to the ones that happened in first grade, he wasnt that bad. I'll tip Camden to smash the Eagles in Reserve Grade and Thirlmere to smash Eagles in first grade, I dont see the Eagles as a tough grinding club, they like the pretty stuff and dont like to defend, look at Mittagong last week putting 28 points on them. Thirlmere upset big time is on the cards.

So who's the team to meet the Eagles next week, will Thirlemere roll on into the big one.

Camden certain to get over Narellan in reserve

Can the young Bulls club get 2 teams through

Should be a big day out at the Oaks tomorrow Group 6 Footy at it's best

Heard the gate is $15 entry??? Surely can't be true can anyone confirm please, last year GF was $10 why the price hike??

I heard the same thing today. It's a bit steep.
The average punter will stay home at those prices $15 way to much what are they thinking are the broke?? Is it for prize money?? Where does the $$$ go towards??
I agree numbers will be down they will come in over back fence its not NRL only park football $10 would be plenty to pay..

Don't normally feel the need to reply but plenty of people not happy with the $15.00 today ......Do the right thing and put it back to $10.00 next week or the usual $8.00 which is too much anyhow.
The idea is to get people and family's to the game and make it an event they want to come back to not to feel ripped of. No ticket is given for entry so How is the money accounted for ?

My thought is that more people through the gate equals bigger profits and more exposure.

Example

1000 people @ $15 each is $15,000
2000 people @ @10 each is $20,000

Last years G/F had many people and players from out of district come to watch. I think if people find out this is the cost they wont come this year. I was thinking of coming down but $30 for me and the mrs, plus fuel, just a bit too steep.
Easy Maths Maverick, add more people, more sales, drinks, beers, pies etc. What are you doing Group 6, how could you clubs agree to $15
Clubs didn't agree to it mate. We were told on Monday night. I brought up that the $10 to get in To games in the weeks prior was too steep, as is the regular $8 for normal games.
The questions were asked, but the group has control of the semi finals.
Not stirring the pot but is this not one of the big complaints about the Wests commitee?
Not listening to the clubs and just doing what they want. :worship:

The gates from the Finals was to be split amongst ALL participant clubs, minus costs for security, admin etc. In effect approx 90% of all the gate takings was distributed by Group 6, with First Grade Premiers getting close to $10K most years. The Group also used to distribute a spreadsheet detailing takings and outgoings so it will be interesting to see what goes to clubs this year and what get kept in house to pay for Secretaries and honariums!!!

In 2010 when moss vale won the first grade title ,the club got 5k for winning the premiership, it was a joke compared to what previous winners received, most of the costs that year was split to the wests jrl and the hire of campbelltown stadium for the grand final.

Spuds storm into grand final
http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local-sport/
Posted Image

FOR the first time in 29 years, Robertson Spuds have a grade team in the grand final after the Spuds beat Warragamba Wombats 22-14 yesterday at The Oaks.

With a slim 4-0 lead at the break, the Wombats came out firing and scored two quick tries to take the lead to 14-4.

But in usual Spud style, Robertson fought back and after their first try of the half, through Pat Pearse, the boys fired up and got back in the game.

A try to five-eighth Aaron de Jager and conversion from Mitchell Wright gave Robertson the lead before a try on the buzzer by Wright sealed the win.

A player from Warragamba was also sent off late in the match after throwing a punch at Matt Mauger.

Spuds captain Doug Tilly said it was another good comeback performance from his team.

"They really scared us. We played the first half really well and then we kind of let them back in the game about five (minutes) into the second half. Heart was in our mouths," he said.

"It's hard, you lose it for a bit but you know that the boys have got the points in them so we just got to compose and go again."

Nearly 30 years after their last grand final appearance, Tilly said it put no extra pressure on them to win this weekend.

"The boys are just playing for the footy. They're not really about nerves and that. You see them before a game and they like to have a joke and not take things too seriously so I don't think the pressure will get to them. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot but we can always kind of dig our way out of a hole which is great."

Depending on results of yesterday afternoon's clash between Moss Vale and Macarthur Bulls, the Spuds will face one of those teams in the grand final this Sunday.

But Tilly said no matter who the opposition, Robertson needed a strong start to get them in front and on a roll.

"Just try to keep our errors out of the game and whatever team it is, we're just going to have to start from the get go again, throw everything into it and really have a go."

Tilly said Jesse Mauger had another great game yesterday, as did Wright and Justin day in defence.

"Like I keep saying, everyone at one stage or another. Jags (de Jager) led the boys around at five-eight, just controlled the game awesome."

I wanted to add a couple of good news stories from the weekend, Firstly congratulations to the Robertson Spuddies club, fantastic attitude and they all represented the club so well, a pleasure to have at our ground, and Well Done to Mac Bulls, the 18's hung around and clapped  our 2nd Division team, it's great they are taking on the Group 6 spirit, I hope you enjoyed playing at the Stadium Footymum, by the way the 18's was a great contest, good game to watch! :correct:
This was something I posted back in May, well done to the coaching staff and committee, they have done a great job this year. It's going to be a great game against MacArthur Bulls, sadly I'll only get to see the first half!

1st grand final eagles v roosters
Reggies grand final eagles v rams.

That's all I know as I wasn't at the games.
Grand final

1st grade - easts v thirlmere
Reserve grade- easts v camden
2nd division - mac bulls v Robertson.
18/1 - mittagong v camden
18/2 - moss vale v ?
18 2's Grand final is Mossvale V Thirlmere mate
Well Done The Oaks, you hosted a great day! What did you think of the crowd?
Took the trip out and regretted it, not due to games played or standard but $15 was way over the top when considering I could only drink light beer at only either end of the ground my wife had her bag searched on entry as if we were terrorists and the food prices were shocking.

I'd like to go to the grand finals but at those prices and light beer no thanks, must say a lot of complaints in the crowd over the prices and a lot saying never again, must say best game if the day was the 18-1s very good game.

Does anyone know any of the nominated players or coachs for the awards dinner in a couple of weeks ????
The Clubs would know if they've had anyone nominated so that they can arrange to have them at the dinner.
Has the dinner been on, normally the player of the year has already been announced. Has it been cancelled this year, haven't heard a thing.

It does sound like they have lost reality, a lot of clubs not happy with the way things have been run this year. Is it true Thirlmere are taking Group 6 and the Secretary to court?

The dinner hasn't been on as far as I know, a talked to Craig the other day he said he had no idea what's going on with the awards night, does any other club know? What about you Black and White, you know very quick on time changers, what about the Presentation night, did Ben Barba Baker get nominated for player of the year and did Darryn get nominated Coach of the year?

I've got no idea who has been nominated but I'd imagine that the clubs know so that they can organise for those people to attend.

I'll see what I can find out.

In past years they've told the clubs who was nominated to make sure that those players are actually there on the night. That way they avoid embarrassing no-shows.
Maybe they have invited nominated players separately this year. :dunno:
