no you have that wrong...we do not stay 2nd div moss vale club wanted to put in a motion for only a 10 team comp but allclubs agreed that if appin meet the criteria that had been set by the group they will play 1st grade and i cant see that criteria not being met..would be unfair for other clubs nAppin willot to allow another club to grow...and all 2nd div clubs want us to go up so they were never going to vote against it...Bundanoon will be the new 2nd div club in 2012...If there were west clubs there looking in I was not aware... Appin will be playing first grade next season ...we meet the criteria set by group 6 management... |

i bet group 6 clubs are glad the combined comp is over they have thrived and show didnt ever need wests at all and the merg was always to help prop up west comp but look at it now its dying a slow death

Its dead, and dad said it's been that way for 20 years, campbelltown losing group 6 was the worst day in RL out Campbelltown, what everyone is saying, how is this JL looking after the game, no talks with G6, remember G6 offered to take there senior teams, it would be all fixed, clubs playing in there home towns, good footy in Campbelltown but no the purthetic nieve JL are just so spiteful they want to send there own clubs to Penrith, Wake up Fools. |

Reeves makes clean break BY SEAN CUNNINGHAM http://www.camdenadvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/reeves-makes-clean-break/2344168.aspx ![]() Happier times: Brendon Reeves (front, third from left) is pictured celebrating Oakdale's Group 6 first grade rugby league premiership. Picture: Chris De Jong OAKDALE Rugby League Football Club has been dealt a blow with their Group 6 first grade premiership-winning coach Brendon Reeves turning his back on the club. Reeves has cut ties with the club for the 2012 season and is quitting as coach. "I offered my services to coach again in August but they told me they didn't want it until they saw if we made a grand final," Reeves said. "Well ultimately we did a bit better than make the grand final, we took the premiership out of the Eagles' grasp, who most certainly had one hand on it. "I would like to praise the courage of the players in defeating the Eagles in the grand final. Upset wins don't come much sweeter than that." Reeves had a few differences of opinion and is heading in the opposite direction from the club but insisted he harboured no ill feelings. "I think some decisions that were made would be taken back if some people had their time over again, but that's life," he said. Reeves, a former Manly and Illawarra Steelers player, believes some of the tough coaching decisions he made had been justified with a premiership win this year. "I came in and I wasn't afraid to make changes and really put some noses out of joint," he said. "I think it's total vindication of my decision in beating a magnificent team like Campbelltown Eagles in the grand final." Although he leaves with some regrets, Reeves said he had enjoyed his time with the club. Despite having the full support of the players, Reeves insisted he would call it a day. "I've met a lot of great friends there but I've just had enough," he said. "It's not all doom and gloom though, I've had some of the best moments of my life there. "The grand final was a very emotional day and I thank Oakdale for the opportunity to live out my dream of coaching a Group 6 premiership winning team. "I was ecstatic and no one can take that away from me, it's one of those moments you will never forget." The premiership was a fitting tribute to Reeves's coaching style. "I don't want to stain that in any way by staying for a year too long," he said. "I might let someone else deal with the pressure and just sit back and put my feet up. "I'd love to try to go back-to-back but someone else will have to take the reins. "I wish the club all the best and there is a ton of good people there, but I'm just not into bagging our own players, which unfortunately happened in 2011, by some parties." |

I think that Group 6 did get something out of playing in the combined comp in 2009-2010, a good kick in the pants! Those 2 hellish years showed us just how good the grass was on our side of the fence. It was a lesson in how NOT to run a comp and at the end of it we came out stronger and more committed to holding on to what we have. I think it also showed the management committee that clubs were not going to put up and shut up - they weren't able to quieten down the discontent voiced by the clubs. |

Wests officials please take note someone fair from G6 telling you what you know deep down. B&W how you think G6 clubs would feel if combined comp was back on but totally under G6 control? It would only really affect 2nd division hey? |

I think that boat has sailed. But who knows .......? It would have to be voted on by the Group 6 General Committee and I think that Mac Bulls, Roos & Eagles have had to endure a lot of vitriol and spiteful attacks from West's management & clubs this year and I just can't see them welcoming other Wests clubs with open arms. I think that the only thing that will save the Wests senior comp is to remove it from the JL management and have a separate Senior Management. That works very well in G6 - juniors and seniors are separate, the majority of clubs have totally different committees and they can concentrate on the comp they are involved in. Just my opinion, but what Wests currently have is definitely not working. None of us (G6 or Wests clubs) want Rugby League to disappear under the weight of AFL expansion or soccer, but destroying one comp to prop up another didn't work so other options need to be looked at. Your clubs need to make a stand, after all, doesn't your management committee work for you? I'm not really sure what the set up is at Wests but your management committee seems to be a "protected species", who do as they please and grind down anyone who doesn't fall into line. In 2010 a combined comp set of rules was a waste of time as no one ,took any notice and when group 6 clubs were disaplined by group 6 for doinig something wrong wests clubs were getting away with it... that was a kick in the butt for our clubs didnt work then wont work now group 6 clubs had a taste of it and did not like it we have seen what happens. Dont forget group 6 clubs never voted for a combined comp it was our management that took us there to save the game, wests clubs wanted it because they needed it and the wests management did not try to make it work they just wanted to control it ...if you asked me thats where it fell apart |

Yeah you are probably right. The way Group 6 management went about the combined comp really left a bad taste in many clubs' mouths. It did feel like a total betrayal of the Group and I suspect they thought they would eventually run the comp but that didn't happen. You just can't have a comp with 2 different sets of rules - it looked like some favoured wests clubs were getting away with murder and the wests management just turned a blind eye to their behaviour. By the time an independent management committee was suggested no one was in any frame of mind to consider it. |
