WOW now thats got to be a massive blow for the eagles blue devil...no player should be rubbed out of a grand final over some stupid penalty.. let hope this spurs on the eagle hey
Rumour has it mazeen is taking his place?
No one was suppose to know, how did you find out about Mazzen the Machine, I think I would rather be tackled by Weiry!
Matty's available
P.S has Mazeen been injured or ???
P.S.S I may be bias, but Matty and Mazeen running at you is not a pleasant thought
He had been out with a neck injury but returned and played the last 4 or 5 weeks in Reserve Grade, Played well for us two weeks ago, yes I wish we could of had Matty available!

Tips for sunday, if ya see a bookie get on:

Mossy in the 18b's
Mitta in the A's
Spud's to mash some bull in the 3rds
Golden point in the reggies with blue devil running 50 to score in the corner for the win and I'm tipping the Eagles to put the cleaners thru the chooks by 20+

Funny how the posts about the Trotter brothers signing with Narellan have been removed....was someone trying to upset Thirlmere on GF eve?

I'm seconding your tips for Sunday from 18-2's to reggies.

But, I think Roosters will step up and take out 1st grade by a narrow margin.

18Bs- Mossy by 14
18As- Mitta by 8
3rds- Bulls by 14, Macbull to crash over next to the posts as the sealer
Reserves- Eagles by 2
1sts- Eagles by 8

I think 1sts will be a lot tighter now given the absence of Ben Weir. Will Eagles get the Clayton Cup?

I haven't received any nomination of players, I did get an email regarding the night, maybe we didn't get any players nominated.
In past years they've told the clubs who was nominated to make sure that those players are actually there on the night. That way they avoid embarrassing no-shows.
Maybe they have invited nominated players separately this year. :dunno:
I heard Nugget from out Reserve Grade has been nominated, great young man and I'm so pleased his nominated, I haven't heard anyone else, it's only next week, I would love to know who is in the running for the Group 6 player of the year, it's not Benny Barba Baker this year.

Very surprised for people to go against the Bulls in 2nd Division, haven't they dominated the competition?

Mac bulls have just got out of jail with Robertson in their previous meetings, hence why many believe it could go either way. Congratulations to the highlands teams for making the grand finals in mossy, mitta & robo which ill be backing, my tip is camden in reggies & easts to win first grade and Claytons cup.

Spuds storm into grand final
http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local-sport/

FOR the first time in 29 years, Robertson Spuds have a grade team in the grand final after the Spuds beat Warragamba Wombats 22-14 yesterday at The Oaks.

With a slim 4-0 lead at the break, the Wombats came out firing and scored two quick tries to take the lead to 14-4.

But in usual Spud style, Robertson fought back and after their first try of the half, through Pat Pearse, the boys fired up and got back in the game.

A try to five-eighth Aaron de Jager and conversion from Mitchell Wright gave Robertson the lead before a try on the buzzer by Wright sealed the win.

A player from Warragamba was also sent off late in the match after throwing a punch at Matt Mauger.

Spuds captain Doug Tilly said it was another good comeback performance from his team.

"They really scared us. We played the first half really well and then we kind of let them back in the game about five (minutes) into the second half. Heart was in our mouths," he said.

"It's hard, you lose it for a bit but you know that the boys have got the points in them so we just got to compose and go again."

Nearly 30 years after their last grand final appearance, Tilly said it put no extra pressure on them to win this weekend.

"The boys are just playing for the footy. They're not really about nerves and that. You see them before a game and they like to have a joke and not take things too seriously so I don't think the pressure will get to them. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot but we can always kind of dig our way out of a hole which is great."

Depending on results of yesterday afternoon's clash between Moss Vale and Macarthur Bulls, the Spuds will face one of those teams in the grand final this Sunday.

But Tilly said no matter who the opposition, Robertson needed a strong start to get them in front and on a roll.

"Just try to keep our errors out of the game and whatever team it is, we're just going to have to start from the get go again, throw everything into it and really have a go."

Tilly said Jesse Mauger had another great game yesterday, as did Wright and Justin day in defence.

"Like I keep saying, everyone at one stage or another. Jags (de Jager) led the boys around at five-eight, just controlled the game awesome."
Bit of trivia from some CRL yearbooks I have 1981-83.
Robbo won the 2nd Division comps in 1981 (21-15 vs Mittagong) and 1982 (16-15 vs Narellan). They were going for three straight 2nd Division comps in 1983, but got totalled 29-6 by Oakdale at Orana Park.
The Group has to have a look at updating the Group 6 history book written by Hilton Middleton that goes up to the end of the 1989 season and distribute it throughout the clubs.
Eagles 1st Grade will be vying to be only the third ever G6 club to receive the Clayton Cup- Picton in 1966 and Mittagong in 1991 being the Group's previous winners.

Moss Vale had such huge depth in 1982 that not only did they win the first grade & reserve grade comps that year the excess players they had that couldnt get a run went out to robertson and won a comp with the spuddies also.

Pushing the Group 6 Juniors barrow here even though they have their own thread.

Group 6 Juniors Web Site

Group 6 Junior's Facebook page - Group 6 Juniors Facebook

The Junior's Grand Finals are being held tomorrow (Saturday 15th September) at Thirlmere Sports Ground.

There will be some great games during the day and the U/16 C's, B's & A's will give you an idea of the players coming through.

The U/16A's clash between Camden & Mittagong is going to be a fantastic one at the end of the day, there's some real talent in those sides.

Yeah he would say that :correct:
My very best to all teams tomorrow but Eagles 1st & Res is what I would like to see.
Good luck to Barnsey, Daniel and all the Eagles boys tomorrow, but no matter what the result you have all done your club proud for 2012. I have no doubt that Mazeen will do a great job back in the 1st grade front row. :winner: :winner: :winner:
