Can someone tell me, will the Kangaroos be playing in Campbelltown in 2012? I'll give you the Group 6 answer, we would like to see 1 of our foundation clubs playing in there home town Campbelltown, the Campbelltown Kangaroos would be great for Rugby League back in it's heart land, the Group 6 management would love to support the growth and future of senior Rugby League in Campbelltown. To see the Roos take part in a 11 team first, Reserve and Under 18's competition with a 10 team 2nd Division competition would bring back Rugby League as the number 1 game in the greater Campbelltown Region.

Let's hear it for Group 6 Junior's Newest Club! Oran Park Town With the likes of Scott Borg & Jake Brightwell working on development this will be a strong club in the future. They may not have any teams in the comp in 2012 but watch them grow when that development fills up.

Whats the team colours and name (ie raiders, cowboys , storm etc), . I noticed they have a sportingpulse site but its under construction so info on this is fairly limited. Good news for footy in group 6 , wonder how would this impact long term on neighbouring clubs like Narellan???

1. Grounds are being discussed with the council. 2. Colours are yet to be decided - the intention is that the colours will reflect the community, ie; local schools - that will be decided by the committee when the club is ready to put teams into the comp. 3. Narellan is a huge club and Oran Park Town won't affect them. But all the Group 6 junior club boundaries are being reviewed at the moment - and they will probably change depending on the demographics of the areas. These changes won't affect the 2012 season.

Getting back to what this thread on the forum is about, does anyone know of any of the clubs gains / losses for next year?
Only sure things so far:
Oakdale - (Losses) Brenden Reeves - Kiama
Thirlmere - (Losses) Leo - Livo Titans
There has to be some signings as pre season should have started by now?
The Good Oil, anyone?? ..... what's cracking?
Word is Thirlmere have lost most of there first grade squad, with 4 hanging up the boots, couple going back down the coast and Jayden Merchent signing with Oakdale... So they'll struggle this year unless they win the lotto. Mossy has regained Willy Mcdonald as cap/coach, with the club still talking to a few major signings, but have lost a couple due to other comitments Mittagong has also signed ex mossy and cronulla prem league player mark delemont Picton will be without there back row this coming year, with peters, white and shepperd all over in england enjoying the cold.
Yeah Brendon Reeves is a confirmed loss, but are you sure he is at Kiama? When did Jayden sign with Oakdale...... good rumour Bit of a coup for Mittagong signing Delamont, he didn't play much this year, and was missed by Mossy.
Just one thing TC, your not the true champions, play Minto and see how you go, Eagles left Campbelltown because they were to scared to play Minto, no wonder you blokes didnt want the combined comp, bloody scared little cubs, go have your porridge in pick on poor little goldielocks
Bring it on champ. Wanna play? Get your side together and we'll play you pre-season. Your comment has no merit whatsoever. Where was Minto when the combined comp was on? Languishing in 3rd Grade. The only side from your side of town that made the semi's in the 2 years was Easts. We didn't want a combined comp because a bunch of thugs that tried to bash a referee, another bunch of thugs that went down to Bowral and started another all in, and various other thug incidents. And a governing body that allowed it all to happen. Not to mention the fact that the comp was making no money. Look at the crowd at Campbelltown Stadium for the 2010 GF, Pitiful. Drama's since you left??????????? Oh sorry, Mt Annan had a food fight at McDonalds. Money since you left? Plenty Crowd at the GF? Huge Crucify us.
What have you blokes done for the game? you have no juniors so no development at all, you should be made to have at least 4 junior teams to form a senior team, but you blokes think you put the air in the football, When your club produces up and coming NRL stars like Minto, Ill have some respect for you blokes, but at the moment you get none, all you do is rip the heart and sole out of Wests Clubs stealing players you cant produce your self. you should be called the YOGI Bears, dumbest bear ive ever seen and he was just like you blokes, he stole picnick baskets, you steal players
It's all about demographics you clown. (and if you want to know what demographics means, i'll explain it for you) When you have a population of 1300 (Oakdale), compared to 11,000 (Minto) your bound to have less people come through. Oakdale have produced a Kangaroo, and i won't mention another one, but i'm pretty sure a recent kangaroo debutant actually came from Oakdale. Oakdale, has a very small population, not large enough to support juniors, but this does not mean we don't produce juniors. Because of this small population, most of our juniors end up at The Oaks, or Picton (some of which we don't get back) There were several locals in our GF side. I'm not a local, but in the 12 years i've played Group 6 football, i've only ever played for Oakdale. We don't steal players, there are other clubs guilty of that, we attract players. We have provided arguably the best Rugby League club for footballers. We have never not paid our players at the end of the season. Lets go through our Campbelltown players Matt McCauley - He came to Oakdale from Narellan and been at Oakdale since 2006 Ron Jones - Played at Oakdale for a couple of seasons (What have you ever done to get him back to Minto?) Bart Masters - Been at Oakdale since 2008 Gavin Philps - He came to Oakdale from Camden in 2010. 4 players from Campbelltown, you idiot, and not once did we actually get them directly from a Campbelltown club. We might be the Yogi Bears, but with all the friends your making on here, you might become the Bandaged Bear. I'm a bit late jumping on the bandwagon here, but I could not resist throwing my 2 bobs worth in. Pigshead, you've got no idea at all. I'll go one further than TC. I would put my money on any one of group 6's first grade teams to beat you without breaking a sweat. Throw the Eagles reserve grade in there too, they'd give you a genuine touch up.
And TC, I assume you're talking about Beau Scott being from Oakdale. Mate, he's as Picton as the mushroom tunnel!! In all seriousness I think he did grow up out that way, but he's most definitely from the Picton club. But given the fact you have no juniors, you can claim a piece of him mate.
And (correct me if I'm wrong here TC), but just for Pigshead's benefit, a look back at the history of the Oakdale club may explain a little about why the Workers have seniors only. Back in the day, when the town of Oakdale was rich with Coal mines, there were lots of fit, young, men who liked to play rugby league in town, so there were plenty of troops, and interest for a senior club. However, even back then there was not a great enough population to sustain a junior club. Now, thanks to a bunch of hard working and passionate people still in that town, even without that ready made playing roster the Workers still do pretty well.
So, TC is absolutely right. There is not nearly a big enough population in the Oaks and Oakdale to sustain 2 junior clubs. And Pigshead is a clown. And you know what? Some very very good players from the Campbelltown area have been coming over to play in group 6 for a long time, of their own free will. Since long before the ridiculous joint venture, Wests juniors best talent has headed over the hill to play in the CRL to get a taste of some good quality football. If I made a list of all of them that came to Picton directly from Wests in the last 15 years, you could pick an awesome team out of it. And you know the best part?? We didn't chase one of them. They just turned up because they wanted to enjoy their footy again.

The Campbelltown Clubs playing in Group 6 should be able to train and play from their old home grounds. This used to be CRL area anyway, the group 6 comp is a strong competition let the the clubs play in Campbelltown in the Group 6 comp i say

I confess to being a little confused about this one. I was under the impression that Macarthur Bulls were started with the intention of being based in Oran Park Town in the long term. Did I miss something here? Can MacBull or anyone else in the know set me straight here please? We to where confused Foal and the juniors i guess had other ideas then the seniors, We had extensive talks with Group 6 and council and where in the phase of applying for set up in Oran Park Town but looks like the juniors had the same intension incorporating a new club and although no club has been allocated playing fields in Oran Park Town i guess calling the junior club by the town will help their cause.

Did you have discussions with Group 6 Juniors about wanting to establish a junior club? Discussions where for senior club only with Group 6 seniors who i assume made the juniors aware - if we managed to secure Oran Park as a home base then we would have looked at juniors down the track - no big drama either way no tears shed we have other options in the pipeline

The Juniors are independent from the seniors in Group 6, two separate committees as they should be.
