I think its great, only some Picton people are concerned about Bargo but its good group 6 is growing. Some would be green with envy, the West comp is dead and group 6 is getting bigger and better. |

I have no problem at all with the formation of a Bargo club, it will definitely fill a hole and ensure that there is a level of the game for anyone who wants to play. My issue is that it needs to be done in the proper way - just like any other new club who wanted to start up. I wish Bargo all the best of luck. |

That draw will change BD. Notice that Mittagong, Narellan, Kangaroos, and Oakdale all only have 1 bye? There will be some minor shuffling to make sure that all teams get 2 byes. But it's fantastic that the group has its act well and truly together, Congrats Steve, you're doing a great job. |

Switching codes BY LAUREN WRIGHT http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/news/general/switching-codes/2399406.aspx?storypage=0 ![]() New Bundanoon coach Brett Breeze and president Chris Ingmire get ready for the 2012 season at Bundanoon Oval. Photo by Lauren Wright AFTER months of uncertainty, Bundanoon Highlanders have announced they will join Group 6 rugby league for the 2012 season. When negotiations with Illawarra District Rugby Union (IDRU) stalled, Bundanoon turned to Group 6. No longer the Highlanders, Bundanoon Rugby League will play as a stand alone club in Group?6's third grade equivalent. With a new code and a new committee, president Chris Ingmire said it was looking up for the club now that a decision had been made about its future. "It's all going forward," he said. "I think we'll go well. Everyone's fairly keen for it." While Bundanoon cannot take players from other clubs within Group 6 competition for the 2012 season, Ingmire said they had already picked up a few extra players.Ingmire said key players from the Bundanoon team last year such as Kyal Martin, Dane Trompete, Lachlan Parry, Dan Hewson and Cheynne Denning had also expressed their interest to remain with the club and play rugby league. Bundanoon struggled in the IDRU second grade competition last year and while many players had hoped to stay with Illawarra, Ingmire said they looked forward to a new challenge next year. "It's a bit disappointing, [but] everyone's pretty happy to go to league," he said. There will also be a new man in charge, with Brett Breeze to take on the coaching role for Bundanoon. Breeze has had experience as a rugby league coach and was involved with Moss Vale Dragons for a number of years. "I'm looking forward to coaching," he said. "I think they've got a pretty good group of fellas here who are really keen, so I think they should adapt to rugby league and it should be a good season," Breeze said. While a number of players had had league experience, Breeze said he wanted to get the basics right to begin with and hoped they could be competitive. "I think we'll just keep it pretty simple to start with," he said. Bundanoon will hold a sign-up evening on Saturday, January 15, at the Central Hotel in Moss Vale.Any players aged 17 and over are encouraged to join, with training beginning on Tuesday, January 17, at Bundanoon Oval at 6pm. "Even though the guys played rugby union, I think rugby league is such a popular sport [that] everyone knows the basic rules of the game so I don't think it'll take them long to adapt," Breeze said. "As long as the guys are competitive in their first season that's the main thing." |

Funnily enough, that's originally what I was going to ask you after your paranoid rant about the goings on of our club. But, then I thought I would compile a comprehensive defense to your attack on the club you claim to support instead. Now, I see you've chosen not to reveal who you are. So, if at any time you'd like to discard your cloak of secrecy I will happily discuss your grievances about our great club in person. It's probably better than clogging the Group forum with our thoughts on Picton. Since you know exactly who I am, you need only approach me. But, feel free to cling to your alias if you prefer. You're not Billy Boots are you??!! Edited by foal, Dec 21 2011, 01:17 PM.

Even though I was on the park, I did notice a first grader being escorted by the police from the ground. This is only second hand but I heard he hit a female copper??? |

Simply reponding your comment about wanting to retain players for numbers only. You also seem to have a very low opinion of the younger players - U/16's & U/18's - pity that, seeing as the club is going to need them coming through the ranks, if they don't meet your standard then maybe Bargo can offer an 18's as well. Are you speaking for the club's management or are you expressing your opinion as I was? Do I need the club's permission to have an opinion? Thank you for your permission to "cling to my alias" - not all of us are attention seekers. And I don't recall anywhere in my comments singling you out or anyone in particular, you made the assumption that it was all about you as was your reply. Sorry mods - no need for a Picton thread - I've expressed my opinion and will say no more. |

Was wondering what others thought about Group 6 clubs getting involved in the protest rally that is being planned in Campbelltown? I can understand why Eagles & Roos would be involved as they want to be able to train and play at their home grounds. But would other Group 6 clubs' involvement do more harm than good? Would it be taken as Group 6 wanting to take over Wests or Group 6 trying to undermine Wests Junior's management committee? I understand that people want to support the Wests' clubs but I wonder if it might backfire. (Not trying to cause a drama or upset anyone like i apparently have earlier - just interested in other peoples take on the matter.) I think it's about time that Wests clubs spoke up for themselves and took a stand - though I don't understand why they don't do this at Wests Junors meetings. Can someone explain how the committee works there? Who does their executive officer (not sure if this is her title) work for? What is the make up of the committee? Blue Devil, maybe you can enlighten me as you have had extensive experience with them. ![]() Edited by Black&White, Dec 21 2011, 08:59 PM.

Hopefully That will boost the jnr ranks for "The Burras" GOD i hope they send Benji it would be massive for the town!!! Not toyota cup players!! and yes im proberly asking for to much Also with Wests Tigers seeing first hand the foreign posts up might give them alittle insight of the threat that is AFL!!! Other Grounds all over the district in the Highlands have been named as potential AFL and have Aus kick programs up and running and there is a development officer who works soley in the region aswell. Also on Loseby irrigation works will start in the new year!!!

Yes, seeing those AFL post on a perfectly good Rugby League ground should show them that the area is under attack. I wonder whether they will send the stars to the clinic or a couple of second stringers? I know that the development officers have been trying all year to get Wests Tigers to show some interest in the area with very little response. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and will really help the junior clubs down your way. |

Quality, not quantity, at least that's what I tell the missus on a Saturday morning, and my fate could have been much worse. With the quality we have, I'm happy to get a run, and I got a first grade premiership, what have u got to show for? Oops sorry I forgot, what has dad got to show for? This ought to be interesting. |
