Cheers mate from what i have heard seems to be quite a few people talking mittagong up, dont blame them. Would expect eagles and camden to be up there aswell. I guess the bulls are the unknown factor fielding a team for the first time. should be an interesting comp. |

Woodo should do his maths pretty soon as it seems he has a team of imports which surely would put him over the points. One of the reasons he claimed he left Narellan was that he wanted to coach a team to a premiership, well he is on the way all right, but my grandmother could coach the team he is putting together and win the comp. The danger for him is that with all that talent on hand is fitting them all into 1st Grade and then living with the pressure that he MUST win the comp or look like a 'bad' coach if he doesn't. |

Just looking at the sides from last year, if Picton turn out to be a really good team, what a great 18's competition we will have

The Trotter brothers are a hooker 5/8 combo that have played for years in the Metro, Jim Beam, Bundy Cup for Wenty, Sydney Bulls & Cabra. Trent just played a blinder for Newtown 4 weeks ago against the Dogs at Belmore, surprised if he was out there. I'm also surprised that Camden didn't have a crack with the apparent connection to Cabra (multiple players for the last couple of years through the coach). How can Thirlmere fit all the players in? The Heckenburgs, Trotters, Two from Picton, one from Oakdale, some from Narellan??? As another post says if he can squeeze them in and don't win the comp, big waste of cash and junior talent that has been overlooked. |

RUSTY NAILS.... Who are these 7 players you are talking about? I heard that the Club was yet to sign any players, not even any locals had put pen to paper at any stage. Pretty poor form by the Club only two weeks out from the start of the season & no players signed. You would of thought the Club would have been talking & signing players at the end of last season. If I remember correctly the Club struggled for numbers last year, on 3 or 4 occasions 4 to 5 of the starting 1st Grade line up played Reserve Grade so they could field a team. |

Sorry mate, didn't mean to put Oakdale, the Bears popped into my head whilst writing. But with the rest, if they all get on the park at the same time, looks as though they will be fielding 10 players a game as that will be their points!!

You gotta feel for the U/18's training squad. They've been trying for 2 weeks to play a trial game against Illawarra so that the Redbacks team can be selected. This year we might have a few more Group 6 kids in the team - usually it's Illawarra heavy (and not because they have more talent - they just have more selectors) |

Woodo's sponsors are his dad's soil supply company (free top soil), Jake Fellows' parents company and a bed shop from Campbelltown. The players who left are probably thinking by now that they have pulled the wrong string, considering they are likely to be playing Reserve Grade when the dust settles. Its a long drive from Narellan to Thirlmere in the middle of the night after training, no other mates and unable to drink at their old local without a few jibes! Plenty of points there for little return. The Trotter brothers are training with Newtown who has Cabramatta as their Bundy feedert team. If they played against the Bulldogs they would be registered with Newtown so some paperwork needs to be sorted out ie tearing up of contracts if they are going to Thirlmere. However, coach of the Newtown Jets, Greg Matterson, is an ex Roosters player from the 90's!! |

The Bull's 18's are looking great I am very happy to have Lonz, Norman and Gibbons back after not playing in our team last year but having them in the 16's, not only do we have those boys we have some great young guys from ESA that have come over as well as the others, they have all bonded as a team and they are all being put through the works by their trainer and coach and are doing it with a lot of sweat and laughs, no complaints about having to travel out to camden way to train either, they are just all happy that the comp starts soon, that they have a great coach and they know where they stand with their comp and that they will be playing competitive footy each week (if this rain stays away). Good luck to all 18's this year, from what the boys tell me and I have been reading we have some pretty tough games ahead of us this season, but we are all looking forward to it. |

It's a shame the guys didnt get to play against Illawarra for their spots giving them all another opportunity to show what they can do. I believe the team will be selected from what they have seen so far and their first redbacks game will be next Sunday. Regardless of wheather any of the five from the Bull's that made the group 6 side make it or not I am proud of what they have accomplished so far since moving over.

Group 6 constitution says no more than 5 players from outside the area to play in the same side, so if the group stick to their black and white policy, then the bulls won't field a side. If Oakdale can't get players released because of group 6 laws then why can the bulls? Also Camden got 3 Warragamba under 18s. It seems like there are rules for some and not others. You guys keep trying to explain yourself, but you are not genuine.
