It is a bit quiet considering the comp starts this weekend.

Apart from Piggy who else does The Oaks have on deck?

Obviously Oakdale will have a bit of a different look about them with Flanno joining but Glynn Bester going back to Camden, has Valo shown up anywhere?

Camden have stocked up well so should be very competitive as should Thirlmere if they gel.

Mittagong will be solid but have the bye so will have to wait for week 2.

How are Picton looking? Any signing news?

Narellan have the experience of Rocky and a heap of youth from last year, any other new signings?
Dad said Valo has shown up and signed with Picton, Picton looking healthy now with good numbers!

Any truth that the Macarthur / Wilton / Mac Feilds Bulls and Bargo are moving into Appin to play / train? Better get the newspapers onto it after the articles and pictures promoted that Wilton was to be the home ground. Also heard that Bargo never had permission from council to play at Wilton and this has upset some peopleon the council.
  Sorry to dissapoint and deflat your scoop but Mac Fields Bulls wont be based at Appin in 2012 - mate if you want to jump on and bag the club PM me we can do it off the forum :correct: :correct:

I can confirm Valo has been at training a couple times, but as of late last week was not on our books.

We have signd front rower Steve Crouch. He's most recently played at Berkley and in his heyday played a bit with Parra, Manly and the Tigers. Having lost Bowers to Kiama and a couple of young front rowers to injury and having a break he definitely fills a big hole in our roster. His experience will be his biggest asset, hopefully he can be a big help in the development of some of our younger guys.

Good numbers may be a bit of a stretch, but we shouldn't have any problems fielding 2 teams with a few more players rolling in in the last week or so.

Picton to beat Thirlmere. We have a similar nucleus to last year. Thirlmere look like they've had a complete overhaul, but are a bit of an unknown so we'll soon see. Should be a great game either way. Can't wait for Sunday.

I'm tipping:
Picton over Thirlmere.
Eagles too strong for Roos.
Camden sound impressive, will beat Narellan.
Oakdale over The Oaks, Flano to pip Piggy in battle of the big signings.

I think problem will be when they want to use clubhouse..... Council have assured the junior club its ground only that the group have not been given a key to club house...

"There is a bitter disappointment to all the players' supporters and staff that this game isn't played on Campbelltown soil, but we are happy just to be playing rugby league this weekend."

Campbelltown Kangaroos president Heath Attard said his players are keen for the challenges ahead.

"We are looking forward to the season with good hard footy week in week out," he said.

Mossy will be a very strong 3rd grade outfit and should nearly be favourites with one hand on the prestigious DNC cup that appin pretty much own of late, with the depth and skill of the remanding players i can see them racking up some big totals against the likes of Robbo, bundy and a couple of the northern sides!!!

Also tomorrow night (Wednesday), a trial match between jambaroo and mittagong at mittagong so if your about get down and watch a couple former dragon players lock horns.
Robbo will be very strong!!

Have heard Robbo have got plenty of numbers. Robbo are usually pretty tough one way or the other.

Has anyone seen 2Div draw yet??

Didnt see the game but heard Shittagong roled Jamberoo last night. Source tells me it was scratchy but I guess it was probably first hit out for both sides due to the bloody rain. Esky apparently went alright but thoughts were Jamberoo didnt show alot. Early days?????
Things not looking too bad out here in potato land, yep plenty of numbers - our U18s teams from the past 3 or 4 years have all graduated and look like being handy senior footballers, plenty of local support too.

Annual pre-season game (bus trip!) to Canowindra is happening tomorrow which will be the first hit out for the year.

Haven't seen a 2nd div draw yet - we're not even quite sure when the season kicks off?
A couple of local teams playing at Loseby this weekend in 2nd Div. Big clash between Dragons and Spuds at Spud stadium in the 2nd Round. :fight: :fight:

Wonder if the fog will roll in. Dragons looking good for numbers and quality, so will be interesting to see how it all stacks up

I like the idea of double headers in 2nd Div comp. Helps home team generate decent income from gate, canteen etc

Highlander are you blokes right for numbers???

Pretty disappointing comp in the 18/2's with only 4 teams. They will be on first name basis with opposition by end of year.

Picton's 1st grade team list for Round 1 below. There will probably be one or two changes (in fact, I know there will), but this is how the program will read:
1. Scott Gallagher
2. Garry Laughlin
3. Jae Taylor
4. Shane Valentine
5. Ben Hierlehy
6. Michael Graham
7. Matt Eckler
8. Steve Crouch
9. Anthony Provost
10. Kiel Shephard
11. Chris Young
12. Michael Stolk
13. Matt White
Fresh reserves.
14. Heath Browne
15. Neil Graham

A strong forward pack. A lot of experience there. I hope one of the changes is Sheppo to the back row and youngy or stolky to the front row. I understand that Sheppo is 1 tough mother but to have him carting it up the guts is rediculous. Picton will want to hope that Sheppo and valo don't turn up in singlets or they may get arrested for having their guns out. Some heavy artillery between them.

One of the changes (no use hiding it) is Stolky is gone. I'm told he's gone back to Bundy cup wherever he was previously (maybe mounties??). We've lost him before we had him really. Shame. I don't know him, but I hear he's a quality player.
