You've got some serious issues. Do you think anyone from any other club would come on here and bag someone from the club they claim to support upon learning they've just been selected in a representative team?! No way. Only a major negative nelly would behave like that. I'm not about to defend Nick to you, or comment on him at all. But, if I chose to it would be to congratulate him on his selection (which I'll do in person when I see him). I certainly wouldn't be bagging him on a public forum while hiding behind a private persona when the easier choice would be to say nothing at all. Haven't you heard the one about saying nothing if you have nothing nice say? I'm not attempting to dispute any of the 'facts' that you've written here. I just take exception to the fact that you choose to post a negative comment about the guy when he's achieved something. You really didn't have to write anything. And your damn right I get my knickers in a twist about negative comments about Picton. That's because I love the club. Unconditionally. And I make no apology about that. My knickers get particularly twisted when YOU post negative do-do on here. You have no interest in helping the club, but you love taking a swipe at us. And stop talking like you know what goes on at the club. You get some second hand info from your friend who 'knows people who know people'. Big deal. I'm sure you get the occasional bit of good news about us too, but you're not too forthcoming with that are you? Grow up. |

Will you congratulate him if and when he turns up to training then? I'm not disputing he's a talented player but he does have commitment issues. I don't post much about Picton at all -check out the bulk of my posts - but I also don't view the club with rose coloured glasses either. I think I have been involved with Picton (especially the juniors) a lot longer than you have. There is a huge amount of stuff that I could post that I choose not to. |

Big day of footy at Mossy this weekend with 3 3rd grade games. Jamberoo take on Robbo, Bowral make their debut for the season and Mossy take on Mt Annan. Should be a good day apart from our 18's being moved to Oakdale to accomodate extra grade game. Hopefully a good crowd gets out to watch. Jamberoo are supposed to nominate their squad for Group 6 side, has anyone seen the list?? |

You know what?! You go ahead and keep on posting whatever negative do-do on here you want. Post whatever nasty comment you want about the good people at our club. But, you're not doing it anonymously any more. I'll show this to Nick when I congratulate him and I'll let him know who wrote it too. |

Eagles fly for Group 6 Campbelltown Macarthur Advertiser BY SEAN CUNNINGHAM 11 Apr, 2012 12:00 AM ![]() THREE Campbelltown Eagles players have been named in this year's Group 6 representative team to compete in the Country Rugby League Championships. Wayde Dunley, Mason Talalou and Ben Weir will represent Campbelltown in the Group 6 side. Coach Brendon Reeves believes this year could be the Group 6's best chance of success in the Southern Division round-robin competition. Assisted by Campbelltown Eagles' joint coach Jason Hazelton, former Oakdale coach Reeves will guide his team in two qualifying games, in a bid to reach the semi-finals. The team will play on April 27 at Mittagong against Group 16 and May 26 at Albion Park against Group 7. "It's an important year for the Group 6 rep side and in the past there's been some problems with players not cherishing or valuing the jumper, but that will change and change in an epic way," Reeves said. Confident his group of players can blend to produce some dazzling displays on the paddock, Reeves described this year's draw as a "dream draw" with both qualifying games being played within an hour's drive for most players. He noted a few players who he believes could shine against their Group 7 and Group 16 counterparts. "We've got an outstanding back line with younger players who are really enthusiastic and keen," Reeves said. "Mason Talalou is dynamite, Trent Trotter has an awesome kicking game and he has some great speed. "Morgan Knott is a big lump of a lad and every team needs a player like that. "Stuart Flanagan, it's his year to shine, it's his first year back after playing NRL and it's his chance to dominate." Reeves says he will throw everything behind his challenge to lead his team to victory. |

Group 6 for 'epic' turn BY SEAN CUNNINGHAM 11 Apr, 2012 12:00 AM Camden-Narellan Advertiser ![]() FIVE players from the Camden and Narellan clubs have been named in this year's Group 6 representative team to compete in the Country Rugby League Championships. Narellan's Ben Baker, Chris Faave and Rocky Trimarchi, who will captain the team, will join Camden's Neil Begovich and Sam Campbell in the team. The team's coach, Brendon Reeves, believes this year could be the team's best chance of success in the Southern Division round robin competition. Former Oakdale coach Reeves, will guide his team in two qualifying games in a bid to reach the semi-finals. The team will take play on April 27 at Mittagong against Group 16 and May 26 at Albion Park against Group 7. "It's an important year for the Group 6 rep side," Reeves said. "In the past there's been some problems with players not cherishing or valuing the jumper, but that will change and change in an epic way. "It's a whole new-look side. "If they didn't want to play I'd be flabbergasted." Confident his group of players can blend to produce dazzling displays on the paddock, Reeves described this year's draw as a "dream draw" with both qualifying games being played within one hour's drive for most players. He noted a few players who he believes could shine against their Group 7 and Group 16 counterparts. "One of the most impressive is Narellan lock Rocky Trimarchi — he's a great leader and is a ball player. "We've got an outstanding back line with younger players who are really enthusiastic and keen. "Trent Trotter has an awesome kicking game and he has some great speed. "Morgan Knott is a big lump of a lad and every team needs a player like that. "Stuart Flanagan, it's his year to shine, it's his first year back after playing NRL and it's his chance to dominate." Reeves will throw everything behind his challenge to lead his team to victory. "I'm not doing this for fun, I'm doing it to win the comp," he said. "We're in the box seat this year and we'll go good." |

Mittagong Lions ready to roar http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/mittagong-lions-ready-to-roar/2520667.aspx ![]() MITTAGONG Sports Ground is set to erupt tomorrow night as the Mittagong Lions play their first home game of their 2012 rugby league campaign. First grade coach Scott Borg has been working through the rain-interrupted pre-season, with some encouraging efforts seen on the training paddock. The Lions will face Oakdale in first grade and reserve grade, with kick-off for the firsts at 5.30pm and reserves at 4pm. The under-18 firsts have a bye but the under-18 seconds side will take to the park at 2.30pm against Campbelltown Eagles. Club president David Elliot said the presence of two under-18 teams in this year's competition was a credit to the Lions juniors, who would help make the future brighter for the club. Elliot said the first grade side was very keen to play at home after a first round bye and a disappointing second round loss against Narellan. "We definitely weren't in the right frame of mind against Narellan and they made us pay," he said. "The boys have been training strongly and if you come and watch you will see a different side on Saturday night." The reserve side had two strong training sessions this week after their win against Narellan. "The reserves had a win last start but were disgusted with some of their efforts, even though it was summer conditions." He said under-18s firsts coach Carl Davies would make sure his side didn't get ahead of themselves after their solid performance last round, however, the boys looked like they would put up a tough premiership defence this year. This year the club is offering Mittagong Rugby League Club membership badges, which entitles members to free entry to every home game. Badges cost $50 and will save Highlanders up to $22 during the season. Badges are available on the day or earlier through Bob Hall or Elliott. "So, if you want to enjoy the only rugby league club in the first grade competition in the Highlands this year, Mittagong Sports Ground is the place to be," Elliot said. |

I think the problem is that if they're not playing in the U/18's then they get overlooked. They forget that there are elible players playing grade. This often happened in Juniors when kids playing up an age group are missed for rep sides. |

Travelled down to Mittagong tonight to watch the footy.... The results were; 18-2's - C'town Eagles 40 defeated Mittagong 28 Reserve Grade - Oakdale 14 defeated Mittagong 8 1st Grade - Mittagong 42 defeated Oakdale 22 The 1st Grade game was very entertaining with Mittagong Captain-Coach Scott Borg scoring 2 tries and setting up a couple also... Young Matt Thorpe showed the critics that he deserves to be in 1st Grade as many people have scrutinized him over the past year saying that he is "out of his depth" - What rubbish! Mittagong went to sleep with about 15 mins to go, leaking 16 points.... Overall it was a great game played by 2 great sides! |
